So excited to see this park getting some well-deserved love! 😍I haven’t been since 2019, before Covid, but when I renewed my Knott’s pass this fall, I added the upgrade. Can’t wait to revisit starting in January!
I hope those operations continue...they have been terrible for way to long now and that is definitely one of the MAJOR things the merger should be focusing on for this park!
I've noticed SFMM has been improving over the past few months. They are painting rides and other things. They are running the bus. They are keeping rides you wouldn't think would be open in the winter open. They are running multiple trains on coasters I haven't seen one multiple trains in a long time (Revolution, Scream, Twisted Colossus running three trains). Hopefully people notice and become attracted to the park more. A lot of people think SFMM is a dump or is operated poorly. That might be changing.
I see that damn sign every day. It has been there since the 70's and is extremely outdated. The area around the park is really improving. New hotels, restaurants, and landscaping is a plus.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork I think traffic flow is good too. Its not a huge residential area unless you consider the new homes West of the park. However, those homes have/will have alternate entrances.
I believe they will keep the tower. If they get rid of kingda ka and/or supermans tower then they lose the #1 & #2 world's tallest drop tower records!! Imo
I notice Six Flags Fiesta Texas has its own UA-cam channel. It recently posted a vid about a new attraction, which is narrated by that park's president. Six Flags Fiesta is probably one of the better looking parks in the Six Flags chain. The San Antonia park also operating its own YT channel suggest it's better managed than SFMM is. That's in spite of SFFT attracting fewer customers per year than SFMM does. If so, SFMM hasn't been necessarily poorly managed based on attendance or sales volume alone. Although the total $$ invested over the past 30 years in SFMM compared with SFFT are probably higher. Still, millions of bucks spent on steel coasters alone probably comes with diminishing returns.
I visited Fiesta Texas in 2004 and again in 2017. Prior to that last trip, I was hearing how beautiful the park is. Honestly, I was quite underwhelmed. It's flat and had a lot of open areas of dirt or half-dead grass. I also had the worst experience with security after having my phone stolen at Iron Rattler. I like that they have their own UA-cam channel. And they've added a lot since. I hope to return next year. Hopefully it's a better experience.
@@AmericasCoasterNetwork The hilly terrain of SFMM & some of its overall backdrop (at least until Valencia becomes way too built up) are a nice difference, but SFFT has more hands-on management. Some people have described it to SF what Knott's is to Cedar Fair. Now that SF & Cedar have merged, other reference points are needed.
I read a comment several weeks ago under a vid about Disney California Adventure. It mentioned that all the millions of $$ the Disney Co spent to improve that park, it didn't really see attendance rise enough to justify the expenditures. SFMM averages far fewer visitors per day & per year than a Disney park does. So Six Flags/Cedar may be facing a damned-if-you-do, damned-if-you-don't dilemma. I still think they should spend millions to improve the looks & operations of MM, but I don't know if the park's ledger books (& banks & investment funds) will allow for that. But sure would be nice if they were given the budget that Epic Universe in Florida is receiving.
The merger just happened. I'm not sure how much of this is coming from Cedar Fair. But I'm sure the park will see some major improvements because of it.
Laughing Dragon is a rotting building that needs to go away! I’ll be curious to see what they do with the roadway sign. Even though progress is painfully slow at the park…. Things are happening! They should keep the repainting going coaster after coaster!
That whole area of Samurai Summit needs a major overhaul. Tear out the old Laughing Dragon Pizza building along with those rotten fences and lighting fixtures that align the area.....SO 1970's. THE WHOLE area needs an upgrade!!
@@seanlewis1148It’s unacceptable that a dilapidated building just sit in a “flagship” park! I’m sure there are probably tear down plans especially once the new coaster project begins. Patience is not one of my virtues….
@@BeastingcoastersViper needs a renovation though, reprofiling and new restraints along with the paint job! While they’re at it they should remove the comfort collars on WCR!
They should really change out that ugly fence with the horrible Tarp attached to it that's at the front of the park. First impressions are everything and it looks like something they use at a junk yard or auto mechanic shop. Also they should take out scream and give it to a park that needs it, and put floorless trains on riddler.
ALL OF THE ABOVE!!!!👍🏾 As you stated: First impressions are everything.....indeed!!! God knows that park needs a major uprade.....from front to back to front again!!!
Agreed about the perimeter fence for Hurricane Harbor. For years I've been wishing that they would improve that entire walkway from the parking lot. But I gotta disagree about floorless trains on Riddler. It's already perfect how it is. The park already has enough sit down loopers.

Yayyy, new update! Thank you for your amazing work.
You're welcome! I'm glad you like it.

Thanks for the update! Can’t wait to see the final look of the new sign…
You're welcome. Thanks for watching.
It’s nice to see that they’re slowly upgrading the park and it’s surrounding area

I hope so too! SFMM is doing a lot of great things!
Thank you for the update.
You're welcome!
Finally putting some TLC into the park.

Yeah the development around the park site is making it a nicer area. Hopefully it boosts park attendance as well.

I love Goliath and am glad to see it getting some love. kinda wish the new paint job was reversed to just mix it up / orange surports would be cool.
Wouldn't that be too much like Scream?
@AmericasCoasterNetwork oh yeah I forgot they're orange now, was still thinking of the purple supports
I’d love to see the front plaza get a upgrade for 2026, which I predict will be a huge year
Fingers crossed!
If the remove Superman will that include the tower?
Possibly
Anything is possible. But they very well could. I guess we'll see what really happens with the Kingda Ka tower.
If I had to guess, they would probably remove the launch section only and keep the tower as is.
It's cheaper, and that way Lex Luthor can stay open
I believe they will keep the tower. If they get rid of kingda ka and/or supermans tower then they lose the #1 & #2 world's tallest drop tower records!! Imo

Thank you Cedar Fair for finally pumping some money into improving the infrastructure of SFMM.

Your videos are so funny Lol
I appreciate it! 😊
Whats up with goliath
Getting painted?
SFMM still needs lots of improvements to be a better park. Maintenance and operations needs a major improvement
I feel they've been improving both of those lately.
Nice update
Thanks! 😊

The outside of Laughing Dragon doesn't look pretty. But I doubt the building is structurally compromised. Nothing that some love can't fix.
.....are you in a Judas Priest, cover band....???
🤔
Ha. Damn. Even without the black leather jacket I get that! 😂
