I don't think I've ever looked at the lyrics for these songs before 🤣 Aww the balloons are so nostalgic, before lightsticks were a thing each group's fans would wave balloons in their official colour at shows!
Oh yeah shinhwa The longest running K-Pop group in kpop history. 1998 and Now. Super popular and Straight up, cool people. I love Perfect man it comes so hard. I don't forget a lot of their songs are written by American Song writers and producers. That's why you hear Money. Hoes and clothes Was a thing in the 2000s R&B and hip-hop
Any time you get really crazy English lyrics in an SM song, chances are the answer is Yoo Young-Jin. He was SMs biggest hit-maker for decades. Brilliant singer, composer, producer and vocal coach. But he explained in an interview that when he uses English in his songs it's just for the sounds and he doesn't care about the meaning at all. So, we get this rap... (also "fantastic-elastic", "close your lips, shut your tongue" and many other iconic lines). Fun fact: the rapper, Eric, is Korean American so he knew what he was saying (though maybe not the British slang).
Shinwha are just legends they were the first kpop groups I ever got in to loved them so much at the time then we got TVXQ , Super junior, shinee and the list goes on . Now for me it’s Monsta x but then it was so different to listen to kpop loved it from the get go
I'm sooo excited that we're getting into 1st gen! I've been thinking about requesting this song on the Jukebox stream but I was hoping we'd get it on a throwback Thursday so I'm happy to see it 😊I have so many groups and songs I could request because it's probably my favorite gen vibes-wise but unfortunately a lot of the videos are low quality :/ I'm looking forward to seeing more in the future, though! Edit: Also, the lyrics in 1st gen were.... interesting lol you just have to not think about it too hard 😂
My boys, finally! They debut in a year of my birth, so i feel very proud, that one of ny fav groups celebrate a anniversary with me. They're really great, they're energy and live vocals and all of the songs are really great. And you're right, they are not that tall, tallest members is Eric and Junjin. And yeah, in 1st gen was absolutely no censor, so it's a lot of n-word, h-word, b-word and more. You should check T.O.P, some strong lyrics too. And you definitely should check they songs after 2012, more modern, but still with shinhwa colour. And you SHOULD, it's really a must-have to check they variety shows, they're WILD. Even SuJu can't come close to this type of wildness. Here are some songs you should check: T.O.P, Wild Eyes (Minwoo, the guy with fake tattoo on the neck, is choreographer), Yo, All your dreams (2 ver, modern and old, you can check both), Touch, Kiss me like that, Alright, Venus, I Pray 4 U, Once in a lifetime, This Love and basically all their discography.
I recommend Age of Violence - I Yah - Yo - All your dreams. These songs reflect the 1990s SK Situation well. Back then SK faced a significant economic crisis, so there were many social problems; Families collapsed, teens left their homes and wandered the streets, and school systems broke down. Teenagers thought H.O.T and Shinhwa were spokesmen for theirselves and that's why they were popular among teenagers.
I cant explain how much I love this song. Its a proper TBT song and has a lots of nostalgia in it. This could have been easily a western boy group song if you ask me. I just noticed I never looked the lyrics up xD
The "bits" are just dramatic scenes added for the mv story haha. A fairly regular feature in kpop mvs. Same as having seemingly random disjointed intros that sound nothing like the song haha. You can't deny its an absolute bop though, probably my favourite Shinhwa song, goes hard when played loud in the car 😂
perfect man, wild eyes & TOP is a good song. dont forget to check out g.o.d too guys, i like some of their song too; road, 0%, friday night, chunbunhada, eomonimge, eps the live stage soo good. & there's sololois that i like his voice & some of his song, his name is Sung si kyung, & the song that i always hear it at night is Du saram, joeul tende, heejae, every moment of you
A couple of ideas for further Throwback Thursdays: a) a female equivalent of this with Fin.K.L, S.E.S., Baby Vox, etc. b) the origins of the big 3 - Seo Taiji and the boys, Lee Soo-Man, JYP old tracks (though I guess the latter two maybe don't count as kpop?) c) an SM legacy day with songs from first and second gen that have an obvious throughline (or equivalent for other companies but sm just has so many great early gen artists)
Shinhwa was my favorite group for a long time in the past lmao. New jack swing was huge in gen 1 and tbh, it never really left kpop as a whole. I'm glad for that because I really like it LOL.
AHHHHHH Shinwha. No three of them were on the short side and three were tall, Andy the youngest and probably shortest haha but still my bias. Another bunch of messers, Told ye guys ye are seriously missing out on the brilliance that is Shinwha and Super Junior. Utter bonkers and great craic (Neighbour from Ireland)
shinhwa debut under sm entertainement senior to snsd, tvxq, shinee and super junior debut in 1998 1st gen and still active after 26 years all original lineup no line up change not single had left they under own label shinhwa company and now own their group name trademark after long 12 year battle with sm for their group name.
All those weird switches aren’t in the actual song. Perfect Man is honestly my favorite 1st Gen song because it’s so very BSB. It’s so fun blasting it while driving. But yeah, I never really bothered with the lyrics. 😅
I really love that you did both HOT and Shinhwa because they were the rivals back then. Back in 2nd gen, idols were often asked to take sides and Shinhwa usually came out as the winner. Which makes sense because this sounds more like the precursor to the SM sound that we're used to and why they're the longest standing kpop group
@@cmq23 They were brother groups but still rivals in a way. If you watch the older variety show (2000-2010), you see that HOT & Shinhwa was the two groups being brought up whereas Sechs Kies were already over by 2000
Andy the youngest member came out a few years ago and said his English is good since he lived in america for a while but back then specking fluent English was looked down upon so he have to do “cringy” English. I’ve actual seen them live a few times and was able to talk to a few of them as I was staying at the same hotel as them. Hyesung, Eric and Andy .. their English is actually good.
The intro music was changed it did not sound like that in the original and some bits have been cut out. If you do 1st Gen again please react to Fly To The Sky.
shinhwa is my ult fav and first group and actually u pronounced shinhwa really well on the initial try!! ngl, 'Young Gunz' is one of my fav songs but the lyrics (esp the english rap) is kind of cringe but honestly, thats the beauty of 1st gen haha
At that time, Korean songs were only listened to by Koreans, so Koreans were not familiar with English, and the rap content was often a mess.... So, don't expect English rap in old songs....

Shinhwa is another legend from SM, watch their live performance is amazing and their personality their hilarious thanks for the reaction

You're finally reacting to shinhwa!!! I love this song 😍😍 I recommended reacting to the live performance tho, it really shows the great choreography

I think they are the one of the boy group who performed this song in North Korea. Their live performance there were fantastic.

SHINWHA! OMG! ❤ I hope you will get to hear This Love and Wild Eyes eventually. Truly the ricky martin of korea if ricky martin was a group.
Yes! Both Wild Eyes and This Love were so iconic, I hope they'll react to them someday.
I love Shinhwa ❤
next TVXQ reaction please🙏🥹
KNOB LICKER!!
They are funny competitive and talented!! love em...

minwoo is def the shortest ahha he is the OG short king in kpop

LMAOOO this is your second funniest reaction since adtoy by 2pm
Hahaha. Thank you!!
BTS have a pretty popular cover of this song, id love to see you guys react to that sometime too!

It was actually H.O.T and Sechs Kies who were rivals. Shinhwa wasn’t a rival. They were a brother group for H.O.T.

More shinhwa please

🤍🥰❤
still one of the best bg to ever come out of sm. it goes 1st gen shinhwa, 2nd gen super junior, 3rd gen exo and then i’ve stop following after exo 😅
I think its supposed to be knob liquor. Knob creek. It's a brand of bourbon.
이거 북한에서 부른 적 있는데 그때 북한사람들 표정 보면 진짜 개웃김 ㅋㅋㅋ
BTS cover this song on Gayo Dajeon and make that performance is really popular till now ua-cam.com/video/AMMx1hOwH-4/v-deo.html
Orange haired Jimin is still iconic

React to BTS’s cover of this song ❤
Bts covered this song
