It was really cool watching you slowly transform the paper into something so beautiful! Yeah I'm really mind blown with how beautiful it became!! Thank you for sharing your amazing talent!!
Thank you for the tips. Your watercoloring is so beautiful and you make it look easy but I know from my own efforts, that it isn't. I really do love this card. I will give this method a try.
Oh Debby, this is breathtaking. I don’t know how, but you keep getting better and better. Your videos are so soothing. I hope you are well and happy. It’s been a rough couple of years. Thank you so much for the tips. I hope to get back to watercoloring soon. Lol. Hope springs eternal. Lol. Hugs, treen 🌸🌸💕💕💚💚🎀🎀🌸🌸
Wow I bought this stamp set and never used it. I'm blown away and will give it a try tomorrow. LOVE your instructions and technique. WC is my favorite medium.
Gorgeous work! I get so giddy when I see a new watercolor post from you Debby, you rock! Love that you inform us about your color mixes and explain the color theory aspect, knocking back the color to mute it, thanks so much!
I could watch you all day, your such a Joy to learn from! Thank you for sharing and teaching us your joy of creating! Have a Beautiful Blessed Day Full of Happiness and Sunshine!!
Absolutely STUNNING! This may just be my favorite of all your watercolor paintings! I could watch you for days, your voice alone is an added element! You’ve really mastered the color mixing, I just love your style! TFS!!
Debby, your work is so inspiring. This video was so informative about building the layers. I wish I had a lighter hand when watercoloring. I’ll keep watching and practicing.
OMG Your painting is so beautiful. I've been water colouring for some time now but I struggle with "over-doing" my blending and am working hard at letting the paint go where it wants to go. My brain understands the theory but my hands interfere in practice - lol. I watch you and am pretty darn envious as your technique is fabulous. Your channel is my favourite one to watch!!!
Thank you! Watercolor has always intimidated me, but you have shown me that by layering it is not much different from how I use acrylics. Now to dig out my watercolors and use them for something more than background techniques.
Something I haven’t noticed before but may be worth mentioning is the unpainted lines left in the leaves. I may be able to correct some of my finished paintings because of this. I usually line them. This is much much better. Thank you.
Just beautiful!! I could watch you paint all day!! could you show how you dilute & tone your colors to be able to build them enable to create your tones of color?
Your watercoloring is so amazing to watch, I wish I had even half your patience in order to enjoy the medium. Thank you so much for the wonderful video of your process of creating your gorgeous card!

For no line watercolouring I like to choose a light coloured ink - Tim Holtz Antique Linen works really well as does Gina K Whisper Amalgam ink. The latter is a very light ink that you might want to stamp a couple of times until you can see your lines :D
Hi Rosie, and thank you! The brush I was mainly using was a size 2 synthetic round from Princeton www.jacksonsart.com/princeton-aqua-elite-synthetic-kolinsky-sable-watercolour-brush-series-4850-short-handle-round-size-2?___store=jacksonsart_en&acc=6364d3f0f495b6ab9dcf8d3b5c6e0b01 Hope that helps :D
Hi Mary, for no-line colouring I like to use either GinaK amalgam ink in Whisper or Antique Linen Distress Ink. I find those colours are light enough to disappear when painting. Hope that helps :D

Your work is really stunning. I'm an "evolving" amateur painter. I too work with 2 brushes in my right hand. Looks like one brush us wet (with paint) and 2nd is dry for blending. Is that correct?

Beautiful card Debby; you are a very talented watercolourist. I'm a beginner myself and still have a lot to learn. I'm wondering what brand of paint brush you were using here? There are so many choices when it comes to brushes and I don't know enough to select a good one.

@@DebbyHughes Thank you Debby, I'm a new subscriber and haven't made my way through all of your videos, yet, so I just thought I'd ask. I appreciate you taking the time, out of your Busy schedule to answer my question, I appreciate it!!!
Thank you for sharing your tips, Debby. I will try your approach to working in layers. Looks like I need to get some smaller size brushes for that fine detail work. How small were the brushes you were working with here? P.S. I tried your two-brush technique so you don’t waste paint. I thought it would be cumbersome, but it really was an enjoyable experience. Thank you again!
Oh, I'm so glad you enjoyed the two-brush technique! As for brush sizes, I'd say a size 2 for this type of painting. The only thing is a size 2 from one company can feel very different to a size 2 from another!
The opposite actually! I was a cardmaker first and found Gansai Tambi watercolours along the way from there my watercolour journey started and I'm addicted!
Hi Debby! Beautiful, frame-worthy card! Can I please ask what ink you used to stamp the floral image before you painted with watercolours? And sorry if you mentioned it already.
Hi Debs, I can't honestly remember but for no-line watercolouring my go-to is a light ink such as Antique Linen Distress Ink. I aim for the lightest of applications - so I can just about see the outlines but so that they are easy to work into the painting. Hope that helps!
Hi Debbie - what brush sizes are you using? I think that may be part of my issue, I am using larger brushes. Your card, as with everything you do is just gorgeous!
Thanks, Pat. I like to use synthetic round brushes. For card making I find a size 4 and 2 the best options. Good brands are Princeton Heritage, Princeton Elite, Escoda Versatil among others. Hope that helps.
@@DebbyHughes ok thanks! I actually did just purchase the size 3 Princeton Heritage series 4050 and have a selection of the Black Velvet Silver brushes but since I’ve never tried anything else I wasn’t sure if maybe there were better synthetic brushes out there and I was missing out.
Sorry for the late reply, I'm catching up after taking a break. The second brush is wet to draw the colour out and dilute it at the same time to create lighter values. Hope that helps :D
Debbie the video was amazing and those flowers just shine.
Thank you so much for sharing your art.

2tips...draw circles and practice the blending, focus on technique and not end results. 2nd before painting....do warmup strokes. Hugs
Great tips from Linda - play and enjoy the journey rather than worry over the end result!
Stunning work. Thank you!

Hansi, I'm just exploring acrylics and yes, I can see how the layering is similar. I hope you enjoyed digging out your watercolours!
