If you read up, how this movie was produced it's absolutely insane. Dino De Laurentis made a deal with the Soviet Union, to co-produce the movie and the Soviets basically gave them 18,000 soldiers of the Red Army, to be used as extras in the movie, plus they send an entire combat engineer regiment to prepare the ''battlefield". They literally bulldozed a couple of hills, to made the area flat, so that all the horses could run, laid several miles of roads, in order to transport extras, horses & material and even build 4 historical buildings, transplanted hundreds of trees & saw barley, rye & wildflowers, similar to the ones that grew on Waterloo. And they also brought in a bunch of helicopters for the aerial shots. The soldiers where then trained in how to use 19th century muskets & to perform drills like the historical armies of the time, for a couple of months. They also brought in, over hundred stunt riders from all over Europe, for the cavalry scenes with the horses falling down. And the best part is: when the Soviet Army send these soldiers marching, NATO's military intelligence went into alarm, because they thought that the Soviets are doing some large exercise or something.
Wesley was defeated by Kerala Varma pazhashi Raja. Wesley defeated Napoleon but couldn't defeat an Indian king from the South (Kerala). And stood against Britain for 13 years after that he was defeated by the combined force of tipu sultan and British Army. He was known as the lion of Kerala.
We mustn't speak like that. This is not mathematic or other deterministic thing. This is a war. It is not depend on only general's abilities, also his age, geography, economic situation of his country. I am Azerbaijanian Türk, i can say that Napoleon was defeated by Ahmed Jezzar Pasha so that I would say Jezzar pasha were better any generals of Europe who was crushed by Napoleon? NO! Jezzar Pasha was in Castle and defending the settlement with great reinforcements from his Sultan. But Napoleon was far further than Jezzar to home. Several causes are depend on situation not the generals. Napoleon is greater than Arthur or another European generals. Your Indian general defending own lands bravely but never could take Vienna or Berlin, also never destroyed Moscow. Your Indians wasn't able to occupy own neighbor-turkic dynasties Safavids or Afsharids. Please, don't measure Napoleon with your generals.
