This man is fighting as hard as he possibly can to win souls on behalf of Jesus Christ. No one should have to endure the horrors of hell or the lake of fire. God bless everyone who receives the testimony in their hearts, in Jesus’s name, Amen!

The Lake of Fire is talking about the 4 cities which surrounded Lake Asphalt. It’s a reference to the destruction of Sodom.

What a powerful and convicting message unlike the vast majority of preachers today who are prosperity or heretics...I have been preaching on hell fire myself since being called to street ministry in London five years ago...I would love to come and preach at your church someday as I have my partner in the US...God bless you all with every spiritual blessing in Christ...amen!

That's a preacher after my own heart, i love it. I believe when u throw something in the fire it's completely destroyed, that's why it called the second death. It's real scary to be separated from God's love and peace. Christ comes as a king clothed in glory. How shall he lead us when we are not clothed in righteousness. Christians always tell you that if you don’t believe in Jesus you will end up in hell.
Then I ask, really? Which part?
They will say “your soul and your spirit because your spirit lives forever”.
So I said this. You mean “hell is a spiritual place?” Then they say “Yes”.
Then I ask, “Is the kingdom of heaven a spiritual place too? When we die we go to heaven?”
“Yes. “
So I ask, “So why then is there a need for a resurrection?”

“But according to you, we are already in heaven even before our bodies are raised”. I said.

“The bible says the worms that eat you and the fires that burn you is forever.”They say.
“So it’s a spiritual resurrection body”. They snap back.

Hell was Jerusalem in AD70.
Isaiah 66:24
“And they shall go out and look on the DEAD BODIES of the men who have rebelled against me. For their worm shall not die, their fire shall not be quenched, and they shall be an abhorrence to all flesh.”
It’s describing about a grave site where bodies are littered every where. The phrase “the worms and fires are forever” is our equivalent “it takes forever to get those bodies disposed”. It just means a long long time.
As for getting into the kingdom with one hand, leg and eye, it meant people who left Jerusalem had entered into the new covenant, where God lives in them.
Heaven is where God lives. He lives in you. You are already in the kingdom since Jerusalem was destroyed in AD70.

Brother Danny I love to hear you preach and when you preach on hellfire it stirs something inside me that make me shout thank you God I’m not going to hell but it also makes me think how many of my friends and loved ones are on there way today and it breaks my heart to know I haven’t done all I could to tell them about Christ and what he done on Calvary and a place called hell. Keep preaching brother cause you are one of a kind you know the kind that will tell you the truth weather it’s easy or hard and I thank God for you. To all the ones that will hear this and doubt. Just know just because you doubt or don’t believe don’t make it not true. Are you willing to take that chance to be wrong cause the consequences are to much to chance.
In the Epistle of Romans, Paul makes it very clear..."The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ." An eternity in hell came into the church through the belief of having an immortal soul and where this soul goes at death. But Ezekiel 18:4 tells us the soul that sins shall die so a majority of Christian churches do not believe and teach that mankind has an immortal soul and the bible itself does not teach this. If God gave us an immortal life at the time of our birth, then Jesus did not need to come in the flesh and die to give us eternal life. Now if a person as an unrepentant sinner is to suffer in hell for all eternity, God must give him everlasting or eternal life in order to be sustained in this eternal torment. But everlasting or eternal life is a gift given to mankind by God through their faith in Jesus Christ, and if you believe in Jesus Christ, you will not go to hell (also John 3:16). If you do not have Jesus Christ, Paul tells you that all you have is death (eternal death), because not having Jesus, you do not have eternal life. So, how are people kept alive in hell for all eternity? Is there some kind of immortality that sinners will receive outside the authority of God? No, because God alone is the author and sustainer of life? Will God give unrepentant sinners eternal life to sustain their lives in hell? No, because that would be unscriptural. These sinners will have to have some kind of eternal life in order to be eternally tormented forever! But eternal life comes only through faith in Christ and if you do not have Christ, you do not have any kind of eternal life. All you have is eternal death and that is the punishment in hell (Gehenna). It is an everlasting punishment which is death...not an everlasting punishing! What is your comment on this?
Everytime i hear hell preachers it helps me from doing the wrong thing and seek a better relationship with GOD

Anyways , the Catholic Church devised a way of creating millions of followers through fear of their immortal souls being tore to shreds for eternity. That's why the world is doomed, The wages of sin is death (hell). We will all taste hell, every single person except those caught up in the rapture. The psalmist said:

King David knew he would surely die because of his humanity and cursed flesh through original sin and asked God to remember him in the grave (Sheol) because he was also waiting for the resurrection of his mortal body, into an immortal body. Tell me, if we had this little soul that controlled everything and is eternal like God, what's the point of the resurrection into a glorified body? Wouldn't our eternal souls be incorruptible in a sense? Original sin was pride, thinking we were like God. Man has always tried to be like God, we are not worthy of him, only through Jesus can we taste eternal life. But why do you want to live eternally with someone who created a lake of fire for all of the losers and failures of this life? Does that not scare you a little, or strike you as odd? Do you really see yourself chanting repeated praises for all eternity with complete mind control and no individuality. Almost like God is doing all of this to have a generation of robots say : "glory glory glory glory is our lord." In endless Eternity. Isn't worship to God in spirit and in truth? The Christian God sounds more like Stalin or a Hitler type. "Follow me or die." I hope a lot of you mofos ain't their in eternity, your ideology is creepy. We need peaceful loving souls cleansed in Jesus blood ready to rescue, and do the Lords work in the heavens. Trust me it's a big universe and eternity will take eternity to learn it. I think a lot of people are living a fantasy and don't even know what it means or begin to even fathom eternity with God. You guys still think in human terms like your gonna need lungs to breath or eyes to see. Trust me half you guys will be in eternity wishing to be abolished. You believe heaven is real, but not hell? You don’t know the true God then and what He saves us from. There was no reason for Christ to die if there was no punishment for sin. He loved us so much He CAME DOWN to offer Himself as a sacrifice we could accept through faith to escape the penalty of sin. You can’t wash away sin with sin, which Christ didn’t have in Him. That’s why only He could pay its heavy price or wage (Romans 6:23)
Read the Book of Isaiah also. Jesus was back in the Old Testament, as He is God. Is hell not everlasting fire? Is hell not where torment and anguish will be forever? Is hell not a place where the worm never dies? Jesus said hell is/has all of these things. Please repent and stop leading people astray with false teaching

Was expecting to eventually get a works based gospel from this preacher but he did get the gospel right. We recieve the gift of salvation by faith in Christ like he said. no calling on Jesuss, no repenting of sins, just belief. Well done pastor.

@@w96725 Read the gospel of John fella. It i the only book in the Bible explicitly meant to show how to be saved fella. Salvation is entirely by believing on Jesus, His death burial and resurrection on behalf of every sinner. WHoevr belueves on Him and HIm alone is promised eternal life fella. You took those other two scriptures out of context and applied them to salvation fella.

I just ran across this video. Me and my husband used to listen to him years ago and even went to several of his revivals. We visited his home church in Marion,NC is that where he still pastors full time? He’s a great man of god. I’m hoping he pastors a church close to me.

Jesus is Lord God Almighty clothed in unsinful humanity and He is the author of *eternal life* to all who trust Him alone for salvation.
He paid for all the sins of all the world at the cross (past, present, and future). That payment is put to your account when you have believed on Christ alone for salvation 💘.
*This means that saving repentance is realizing that you are a sinner deserving of God's just punishment in Hell and turn (repent) from whatever you trusted in before, if indeed you trusted in anything; to trusting in the person and finished work of Christ alone for salvation.*

I do believe the truth of Hell can be witnessed to by the Holy Spirit and draw someone to the love of Christ and motivate them to receive salvation.

But there are many ways that lead to HELL!

You can try to say that no one ever warned you about
Hell, BUT YOU HAVE JUST BEEN WARNED
WHEN YOU READ THIS AND NOW YOU ARE
HELD ACCOUNTABLE.
Now it’s too late to act dumb.
And when you see God face to face (and you will….
because everyone gets judged by God when they die!)
You will be held responsible for knowing this and for
being warned about Hell!!
WE ARE ALL SINNERS….sin is anything that
separates us from God. The bible tells us that any form
of idolatry, witchcraft, murder or murderous thoughts,
stealing, lying, adultery (sex outside of marriage), same
sex marriage, hatred, unforgiveness, etc…. are all sin.
God has seen every sin we have ever committed.
Yes, EVERY sin.
Now you CAN’T get up to God and say,

You Must accept Jesus Christ for your sins or

Admit that you are a sinner because we all are.

Be willing to turn from sin and REPENT.
Believe that Jesus Christ died for our sins and

He took your punishment for your sins.
Through prayer invite Jesus Christ into your
life.

forgiveness. I believe that Jesus Christ shed His

from sin and invite Jesus Christ into my heart and
my life as my personal savior.”
THAT’S IT! Now your off to a good start
surrender your life to Jesus…. get a bible and read
it every day and do what its says, to get to know God
better, also tell others about what Jesus Christ has
done for you.

The Christian God sounds more like Stalin or a Hitler type. "Follow me or die." I hope a lot of you mofos ain't their in eternity, your ideology is creepy. We need peaceful loving souls cleansed in Jesus blood ready to rescue, and do the Lords work in the heavens. Trust me it's a big universe and eternity will take eternity to learn it. I think a lot of people are living a fantasy and don't even know what it means or begin to even fathom eternity with God. 1 While this is certainly frightening, any hell of mere physical torture would not be worthy of serious fear, that is the killing of the body only, not the destruction of the soul as in gehenna. Any solely physical suffering protracted on an infinite time scale will fade to background noise. The real hell is on the inside. Just like the real peace of Christ makes even martyrdom endurable and all gifts of the world are as dung in comparison.
2 sometimes I wonder if I'm lost and their ain't no hope for me, but, wether I am or not, the fact remains, God tried to save me. (Unless the Calvinists are right but that's another can of worms) There is a God and he cared enough to try even for me. That would be to me the drop of water on my tounge. To have seen the throne and known it to be the throne, to know that heaven is real, even if I will never see it, someone will, to say like Martin Luther King Jr "I may not get there with you but we as a people will get to the promised land". It’s within this principle that God declares that he creates “well-being” and “calamity.” He’s responsible for bringing prosperity to those who are faithful and calamity to those who rebel. That’s even consistent with his treatment of his own people-Israel. He rewards them when they obey and punishes them (e.g., slavery, exile, etc.) when they disobey. In that sense, yes, it is God who creates calamity.
But God didn’t bring evil into existence. It’s the result of sin and our fallen world!

You’d rather bet your soul based on your own vain, human wisdom versus the words of Christ Himself. God can’t lie. So when you say Jesus never talked about Hell, which He did many times, you’re pretty much calling God Almighty a liar, who doesn’t understand His own word. You’re playing a very dangerous game my friend. Dying and finding yourself in hell when you were dead certain there wasn’t one, is a VERY rude awakening and nightmare you can never wake up from. Hellfire-Is It Part of Divine Justice?
Have you ever seen someone tortured? We hope not. Deliberate torture is sickening and abhorrent. What, though, of torture inflicted by God? Can you imagine such a thing? Yet, this is exactly what is implied by the teaching of hellfire, an official doctrine in many religions.
Imagine, for a moment, the following horrific scene: A person is being roasted on a hot iron plate. In his agony he screams for mercy, but nobody listens. The torture goes on and on, hour after hour, day after day-without pause!
Whatever crime the victim may have committed, would not your heart go out to him? What of the one who ordered the torture? Could he be a loving person? In no way! Love is merciful and shows pity. A loving father may punish his children, but he would never torture them!
Nevertheless, many religions teach that God tortures sinners in an eternal hellfire. This, it is claimed, is divine justice. If that is true, who created that terrible place of eternal torment? And who is responsible for the excruciating agonies inflicted there? The answers would seem obvious. If such a place really exists, then God would have to be the creator of it, and he would be responsible for what happens there.
Can you accept that? The Bible * says: “God is love.” (1 John 4:8) Would a God of love inflict torture that even humans with any measure of decency find revolting? Surely not!
An Unreasonable Teaching
Still, many believe that the wicked will go to a fiery hell and be tormented forever. Is this teaching logical? The human life span is limited to 70 or 80 years. Even if someone perpetrated extreme wickedness for his whole lifetime, would everlasting torment be a just punishment? No. It would be grossly unjust to torment a man forever for the limited number of sins that he can commit in a lifetime.
Who knows the truth about what happens after we die? Only God can reveal this information, and he has done so in his written Word, the Bible, referred to above. Here is what the Bible says: “As the [beast] dies, so the [man] dies; and they all have but one spirit . . . All are going to one place. They have all come to be from the dust, and they are all returning to the dust.” (Ecclesiastes 3:19, 20) There is no mention here of a fiery hell. Humans return to dust-to nonexistence-when they die.
In order to be tormented, an individual has to be conscious. Are the dead conscious? No. “The living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten.” (Ecclesiastes 9:5) It is impossible for the dead, “conscious of nothing at all,” to experience the agonies of hellfire.
A Harmful Doctrine
Some maintain that the teaching of hellfire is useful, true or not. Why? They say it serves as a deterrent to wrongdoing. Is that true? Well, is the crime rate in regions where people believe in hellfire lower than in other places? Hardly! In fact, the doctrine of hellfire is very harmful. Will a person who believes that God torments people view torture as something abhorrent? Why should he? Those believing in a cruel god often become cruel like their god.
In whatever way a reasonable person may look at the matter, he cannot accept the existence of a hell of torment. Logic rebels against it. Human nature is repelled by it. More important, God’s Word does not say that such a place exists. When a person dies, “he goes back to his ground; in that day his thoughts do perish.”-Psalm 146:4.
What Punishment for Sin?
Does that mean that we are not punished for our sins? No, that is not the case. Our holy God punishes sinners, but he does not torture them. And when sinners repent, he forgives them. What is the punishment for sin? The Bible gives a forthright answer: “The wages sin pays is death.” (Romans 6:23) Life is a gift from God. When we sin we no longer deserve that gift, and we die.
You may ask: ‘How is that just? Why, everyone dies!’ That is true because we are all sinners. In effect, no one deserves life. “Through one man sin entered into the world and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men because they had all sinned.”-Romans 5:12.
At this point you may be thinking: ‘If we all sin and so we all die, why should we try to be virtuous? It seems that the wicked man is treated exactly the same as the man who tries to serve God.’ But that is not the case. Although we are all sinners, God forgives those who sincerely repent and try to change their ways. He rewards our efforts to ‘make our minds over’ and to do good. (Romans 12:2) These truths are the basis of a marvelous hope.
A Reward for the Good
We cease to exist when we die. But that does not mean that everything is finished. The faithful man Job knew that he would go to the grave (Sheol) when he died. But listen to his prayer to God: “O that in Sheol you would conceal me, that you would keep me secret until your anger turns back, that you would set a time limit for me and remember me! If an able-bodied man dies can he live again? . . . You will call, and I myself shall answer you.”-Job 14:13-15
Job believed that if he was faithful until death, he would be remembered by God and resurrected. This was the belief of all of God’s servants in ancient times. Jesus himself confirmed this hope when he said: “The hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.”-John 5:28, 29.
When will the resurrection begin? According to the Bible, very soon. Bible prophecy indicates that in 1914 this world entered into its “last days.” (2 Timothy 3:1) In what many call ‘the end of the world,’ God will very shortly remove wickedness and establish a new world under heavenly rulership.-Matthew, chapter 24; Mark, chapter 13; Luke, chapter 21; Revelation 16:14.
The result will be a paradise covering the whole earth and inhabited by those who have sincerely tried to serve God. Wicked people will not burn in hellfire, but they will have no place in the coming Paradise. At Psalm 37:10, 11, we read: “The wicked one will be no more; and you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will not be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace.”
Is all of this just a dream? No, it is God’s promise. In the Bible we read: “I heard a loud voice from the throne say: ‘Look! The tent of God is with mankind, and he will reside with them, and they will be his peoples. And God himself will be with them. And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.’”-Revelation 21:3, 4.
Do you believe these words? You should. God’s word always comes true. (Isaiah 55:11) We urge you to learn more about God’s purposes for mankind. Jehovah’s Witnesses will be delighted to help you
Jesus referred himself as Lucifer in Revelation by calling himself the “morning star”.
There is a reason for it.
In Isaiah Lucifer was a title God called Nebuchadnezzar.
The reason for this was the fact that he was the king of the Babylon. The first part of the greatest kingdoms of the world.
You may remember he had a vision of a statute of 4 kingdoms. Babylon, Persia, Greece and then finally Rome.
Then you see this incredible stone came and destroy that statute.
That rock in Jesus. He is the true emperor of all these kingdoms. He is the true “morning star”.
He is the true Lucifer. The greatest of all kings.
So next time someone tells you Satan is Lucifer or the god of this world, tell him you worship the true Lucifer.
Take a look at these verses showing *the unsaved will perish:* they'll be destroyed and not "be" anymore:
■ “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” (John 3:16)
■ “For yet a little while, and the wicked shall not be: yea, thou shalt diligently consider his place, and it shall not be.” (Psalm 37:10)
■ “When the wicked spring as the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity do flourish; it is that they shall be destroyed for ever” (Psalms 92:7)
■ "As the whirlwind passeth, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation" (Proverbs 10:25).
■ "Knowest thou not this of old, since man was placed upon earth, That the triumphing of the wicked is short, and the joy of the hypocrite but for a moment? Though his excellency mount up to the heavens, and his head reach unto the clouds; Yet he shall perish for ever like his own dung: they which have seen him shall say, Where is he?" (Job 20:4-7).
■ "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" (Romans 6:23)
■ "The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance." (2 Peter 3:9)
There's nothing in those verses about eternal life in torment.
The pagan doctines of immortal soul and eternal torment crept into churches long, long ago. Translators then wrote "hell" into the Bible by mis-translating several Greek words. For example:
■ “And if thine eye offend thee, pluck it out: it is better for thee to enter into the kingdom of God with one eye, than having two eyes to be cast into hell fire” (Mark 9:47, KJV)
“Hell” in that verse is from the Greek word γεέννῃ or “gehenna,” the dump outside Jerusalem. The trash and garbage thrown there was sure to be destroyed by the constant fire -“hell fire”- and worms (maggots) in the dump. Jesus was only saying that just as trash thrown into the dump was sure to be destroyed, the wicked would surely be destroyed. They would perish and never again "be" as we saw earlier.
Here's another verse where "hell" is from the Greek word γεέννῃ or "gehenna":
■ "And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell." (Matthew 10:28)
Wait a minute . . . how can a soul be destroyed if it's immortal? Was Jesus wrong? Of course not. In pagan Greek philosophy the soul was an immortal spiritual component of a person that separates from the body at death and keeps on living, forever. But in the Bible, soul refers to a person, to the self, the life -not to some sort of immortal component. For example:
■ “And we were in all in the ship two hundred threescore and sixteen souls.” (Acts 27:37)
■ "The soul that sinneth, it shall die . . ." (Ezeliel 18:20).
Compare that to the "soul" according to pagan Greek religion:
_"Do we believe that there is such a thing as death? And is this anything but the separation of soul and body? And being dead is the attainment of this separation; when the soul exists in herself, and is parted from the body and the body is parted from the soul . . . beyond question the soul is immortal and imperishable, and our souls will truly exist in another world!"_ (Plato, in _Phaedo,_ about 360 BC)
What you just read sounds just like what you'll hear in most churches today. Can you now see what has happened? Over the centuries pagan Greek religion has crept into church doctrine!
Along with the immortal soul came hell, as a necessary explanation for where the unsaved spend eternity!
The “immortal soul” has roots in Satan’s original lie:
■ “And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die” (Genesis 3:4)
Salvation is NOT about "where you'll spend eternity." You won't even *_have_* an eternity unless you receive from God the gift of eternal life! Otherwise you'll perish and no longer "be" as we saw earlier.

2. The Gospel of John and the letters of John are written after the book of Revelation.
That’s why the commandment you are asked to obey is love one another. It is called the commandment from the beginning because God made all things new in AD70.
3. When Jesus said he made “all things new” , he wasn’t not referring to the future. He meant he made a new heaven and a new earth. By that he meant he created a new Temple and city for God and himself to dwell. You are that Temple and the believers are that City.
4. The resurrected body is not a physical one. It is a spiritual one.
1 Corinthians 15:44-46
It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual.
This is referring to the Father and Son already now dwelling in you.
The Bible does not say that your soul or your spirit is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. It says your BODY is the Temple. This is what it means by the spiritual body. The resurrection has already taken place. It took place when God moved his house from the Temple to your body.
5. Most of the parables where Jesus taught to either forsake the dead or our parents or not looking back has nothing to do with sacrifice. It is speaking about forsaking the thinking and the mentality of the Old Covenant and embracing the New one. God was sending the Romans to destroy the Temple and Jerusalem so that he could dwell in us.
6. When the Bible speaks about heavens and earth being shaken and/or being burnt up, it does not mean the universe. It meant the Temple. That’s how it was shaken. It was burnt down in AD70.
7. The mountain that was thrown into the sea in Mount Sinai. However when Paul speaks about Mount Sinai, he was referring to Jerusalem. It is the mountain mentioned in Revelation 8. It was on fire for more than 3 months.
8. Hence when Jesus spoke about the lake of fire and of the worms that do not die and fires that do not cease, he was not referring to hell. He was referring to the destruction of Jerusalem.

This home or this “rooms” or this “mansion” is you and not some bungalow in the sky.
This was fulfilled when old Jerusalem was destroyed in AD70. That’s when God moved to the New Jerusalem.

And I saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband. And I heard a loud voice from the throne saying, “Behold, the dwelling place of God is with man. He will dwell with them, and they will be his people, and God himself will be with them as their God.
10. Hence Christianity is not about going to heaven. It’s about God building heaven into you. It’s about what you do NOW not what will happen in the future.

In the Epistle of Romans, Paul makes it very clear..."The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ." An eternity in hell came into the church through the belief of having an immortal soul and where this soul goes at death. But Ezekiel 18:4 tells us the soul that sins shall die so a majority of Christian churches do not believe and teach that mankind has an immortal soul and the bible itself does not teach this. If God gave us an immortal life at the time of our birth, then Jesus did not need to come in the flesh and die to give us eternal life. Now if a person as an unrepentant sinner is to suffer in hell for all eternity, God must give him everlasting or eternal life in order to be sustained in this eternal torment. But everlasting or eternal life is a gift given to mankind by God through their faith in Jesus Christ, and if you believe in Jesus Christ, you will not go to hell (also John 3:16). If you do not have Jesus Christ, Paul tells you that all you have is death (eternal death), because not having Jesus, you do not have eternal life. So, how are people kept alive in hell for all eternity? Is there some kind of immortality that sinners will receive outside the authority of God? No, because God alone is the author and sustainer of life? Will God give unrepentant sinners eternal life to sustain their lives in hell? No, because that would be unscriptural. These sinners will have to have some kind of eternal life in order to be eternally tormented forever! But eternal life comes only through faith in Christ and if you do not have Christ, you do not have any kind of eternal life. All you have is eternal death and that is the punishment in hell (Gehenna). It is an everlasting punishment which is death...not an everlasting punishing! What is your comment on this?

The King James Bible, which is widely considered to be one of the most inaccurate translations, while also being a fixture in traditionalist Christian circles, contains the most mentions of “hell” at 54 occurrences. More accurate translations like the NASB and even the highly popular NIV show the word “hell” occurring between 13-14 times, ALL of which are found in the New Testament.
We’re going to look at each of these occurrences, but before we do, I’d like to put these numbers into perspective. Let’s look at how often more commonly used words are mentioned in the Bible:

So just to review, we have Judgement mentioned 344 times, Sin mentioned 441 times, and Death mentioned 456 times, and yet we only see Hell mentioned 14 times in accurate translations.
Doesn’t that seem weird?
If hell is such a central part of sin, judgment, and death, wouldn’t it get talked about at least half as often as these associated words? At this rate, Google wouldn’t even know to associate hell with these other words.
Furthermore, IF the common Evangelic view of Hell as a place of eternal, conscious torment is accurate, wouldn’t that warrant significantly more discussion than something like poverty, which is talked about over 2,000 times?
If God is actually planning on PERPETUALLY ROASTING BILLIONS OF PEOPLE, allowing them to permanently agonize for all of eternity… isn’t that a bit more pressing of a discussion than the 1203 words that are addressed more frequently?
Yes, I did the math, and I did it based on the KJV, giving Hell the benefit of the MOST possible occurrences. Even with 4 times the mentions of most translations, there are 1,203 words used more frequently.

If you are a good Christian, like I used to be, your first question is going to be a very valid one, “Doesn’t Jesus speak about Hell?” The simple answer to that question is “no”, but in order to make that claim, I’m going to have to get my Greek on.
There Are The 4 Words Translated As “Hell”
Most of the confusion around Hell starts with translation error. There are four separate Hebrew and Greek words which are translated into the single English word “Hell”, despite having drastically different meanings.
Sheol (Hebrew)
Hades (Greek)
Tartarus (Greek)
Gehenna (Greek)
The English language is often very limited when trying to express certain concepts. A perfect Biblical example of this is the multiple Greek words translated to the single English word “Love”. Agape is a special version of love that speaks about God’s love toward humanity. Phileo speaks about brotherly love and Eros refers to sexual love or desire.
And just like “love”, the English word “hell” is unilaterally translated from the Greek and Hebrew words Sheol, Hades, Gehenna, and Tartarus, each of which have different meanings.
1. Sheol (H7585)
שׁאל שׁאול she’ôl she’ôl sheh-ole’, sheh-ole’ From H7592; hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranian retreat), including its accessories and inmates: - grave, hell, pit.
2. Hades (G86)
ᾅδης hadēs hah’-dace From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1492; properly unseen, that is, “Hades” or the place (state) of departed souls: - grave, hell.
3. Gehenna (G1067)
γέεννα geenna gheh’-en-nah Of Hebrew origin ([H1516] and [H2011]); valley of (the son of) Hinnom; gehenna (or Ge-Hinnom), a valley of Jerusalem
4. Tartarus (G5020)
ταρταρόω tartaroō tar-tar-o’-o From Τάρταρος Tartaros̄ (the deepest abyss of Hades); to incarcerate in eternal torment: - cast down to hell.
Below, I’ve listed the full 13 times “Hell” is used in the NASB translation of the Bible. Sheol and Hades are always correctly translated as “the grave” in the NASB and other more accurate translations, which is why you don’t see any references below. I’ve included those words in our discussion simply because they will come up incorrectly as “Hell” in the KJV.
You’ll notice that NONE of the above 4 words actually translate to Hell. The closest is Hades, which is derived from Greek mythology and is never actually translated to “Hell” in academically accepted translations. Sheol and Hades are both always translated as “death” or “the grave” in the NASB and other more accurate translations. And as we are about to see, neither Tartarus nor Gehenna can be correctly translated as “Hell” either.
In other words, “Hell” is NOT actually in the Bible.

One of the simplest way of understanding what Jesus said to realise he quotes a lot from the Old Testament.
For example, many people fall under the assumption when Jesus said this:
Mark 9:47-48
And if your eye causes you to stumble, pluck it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, where
“‘the worms that eat them do not die,
and the fire is not quenched.’
many would assume it is speaking about hell and eternal torment.
He wasn’t. He was quoting this.
Isaiah 66:24
“And they will go out and look on the dead bodies of those who rebelled against me; the worms that eat them will not die, the fire that burns them will not be quenched, and they will be loathsome to all mankind.”
If you are careful in reading this. You will see the words “dead bodies”.
In another version of this verse the bodies there are translated as carcasses.
Isaiah 66:24
And they shall go forth, and look upon the carcases of the men that have transgressed against me: for their worm shall not die, neither shall their fire be quenched; and they shall be an abhorrence unto all flesh.
They do not refer to souls being tormented in eternity.
What Jesus was referring to was the destruction which would come upon Jerusalem in AD70.

Revelation 11:8-10
Their bodies will lie in the public square of the great city-which is figuratively called Sodom and Egypt-where also their Lord was crucified. For three and a half days some from every people, tribe, language and nation will gaze on their bodies and refuse them burial. The inhabitants of the earth will gloat over them and will celebrate by sending each other gifts, because these two prophets had tormented those who live on the earth.
The “Sodom” and “Egypt” here is how Jerusalem was depicted. God would name Jerusalem the names of Jerusalem’s enemies when she fell. She was also known as “Sinai” and “Babylon” in Galatians 4 and Revelation 18.
Therefore the “hell” Jesus so often quoted by preachers is actually the massacre of the Jews in Jerusalem in AD70.
“Inside the walls, the bodies of natives, aliens, priest and laymen were piled on each other, and the blood of men and beasts formed lakes in the sacred courts. When it was no longer possible to carry out the bodies, the corpses had been piled up in the largest houses and the doors locked. The innumerable bodies piled up all over Zion were not merely a revolting, stinking sight, but they also obstructed the fighting men as they made their sorties. For like men marching across a battlefield littered with thousands of dead, they were forced to trample dead bodies. Indeed, there was no more room to bury the dead.

Dear friends, we have always been represented about hell as a place for eternal torment and heaven as a place for eternal bliss for your spirit or soul.
Some even say it’s a place for a resurrected body, wether a glorified body or which is raised corruptible.
When you read these verses Jesus spoke about entering hell with hands, feet and eyes and entering heaven without a perfect body: Maimed, one eye and crippled.
Does this not challenge your theology? Does this not challenge your ideas of what your pastor had fed you about heaven and hell?

He was speaking about the impending destruction of Jerusalem. He was telling people to leave Jerusalem at all costs.
The bodies mentioned in Isaiah 66 are real dead bodies of Jews and proselyte Gentiles who died in AD70.
Those who enter life are those who left Jerusalem. Some crippled, maimed and blind. They escaped the onslaught of the Romans.
This is what Jesus meant by heaven and hell.

3. When Jesus said he made “all things new” , he wasn’t not referring to the future. He meant he made a new heaven and a new earth. By that he meant he created a new Temple and city for God and himself to dwell. You are that Temple and the believers are that City.
4. The resurrected body is not a physical one. It is a spiritual one.

It is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual body. Thus it is written, “The first man Adam became a living being”; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit. But it is not the spiritual that is first but the natural, and then the spiritual.
This is referring to the Father and Son already now dwelling in you.
The Bible does not say that your soul or your spirit is the Temple of the Holy Spirit. It says your BODY is the Temple. This is what it means by the spiritual body. The resurrection has already taken place. It took place when God moved his house from the Temple to your body.
5. Most of the parables where Jesus taught to either forsake the dead or our parents or not looking back has nothing to do with sacrifice. It is speaking about forsaking the thinking and the mentality of the Old Covenant and embracing the New one. God was sending the Romans to destroy the Temple and Jerusalem so that he could dwell in us.
6. When the Bible speaks about heavens and earth being shaken and/or being burnt up, it does not mean the universe. It meant the Temple. That’s how it was shaken. It was burnt down in AD70.
7. The mountain that was thrown into the sea in Mount Sinai. However when Paul speaks about Mount Sinai, he was referring to Jerusalem. It is the mountain mentioned in Revelation 8. It was on fire for more than 3 months.
8. Hence when Jesus spoke about the lake of fire and of the worms that do not die and fires that do not cease, he was not referring to hell. He was referring to the destruction of Jerusalem.

This home or this “rooms” or this “mansion” is you and not some bungalow in the sky.
This was fulfilled when old Jerusalem was destroyed in AD70. That’s when God moved to the New Jerusalem.
