nadu in vintage cube is one of the few places where i think its actually healthy, because it gives a lot of cards that are otherwise much more narrow broader uses. i loved the bristly bill--walking ballista--nadu line, that was super satisfying to watch!
There’s older vcube draft stuff already out there. What makes vcube the best format is it’s so dynamic with all the amazing new powerful stuff that WOTC keeps printing. Case in point was today’s draft with Nadu and Bristly Bill.
@@timjp7459 Sure, but seeing LSV & friends jump into an old list from say 2017 for a few games isn't at all the same as just watching old videos. You say you like Vintage Cube for how dynamic it is with the constant changes-I'd argue that viewing an old list through modern eyes would give much the same feel. Oh and that's not to mention the pure nostalgia of a time where Consecrated Sphinx was an absolute bomb and taken highly lol. Seems most viewers agree with my suggestion given the likes ratio, hopefully it will happen one of these days!
23:01 Poor Sandy getting roasted when he couldn't cast the Fury without the Goblin Shaman making a treasure 🤣 He def should've paid 4 life for that Adanto Vanguard tho
"This is me being not greedy. I just take the best card for my deck without trying to wheel stuff" at 8:00. 8:30: Proceeds to double wheel lightning greaves ^^
perhaps not everyone was as tuned into what has been added to the cube to make nadu so good. I mean I'm sure they know the cube list, but if this is the first time running this iteration and things like lightning greaves and bristly bill were just added, that makes quite a difference.
A LOT of people would have gone W/R in that seat though, especially in a 6 man draft when it's harder to get all the pieces you need for combos. I guess he could have gone lands with pick 2 Strip Mine and pick 3 Crucible, but there's still no guarantee the Exploration/Fastbond show up in the draft, let alone make it to you.
Yeah I think if everyone were solely trying to max team win%, you’d see him getting hard cut most drafts. Fortunately the vibe of this group is I Wanna Do Fun Stuff, so it’s not the end of the world that his range is narrow
@58:16, I think there is a minor mistake. If you left aether hub untapped, you could have had up both mana leak/stern scolding and shelldock, which seems to remove a wrath as an out for your opponent.
Lion Sash seems extremely powerful to me, coming back to the game after like 8 years. It's wild that it's just, like...a card, that sometimes doesnt get played when people draft it. Just a super-Ooze, that can also survive wraths?
@@TempoBear I reconnected with my cube group a couple weeks ago, and I had to leave Jace out of my deck bc he couldnt compete at 4 mana with what I had. It's gonna take some getting used to!
I think Nadu is way too low on people’s pick orders right now. It doesn’t seem like it’s worth much without its combos but I believe it’s on the same tier as hullbreacher, grief, ragavan, and bow masters. The way it forces the opponent to always 2 for 1 themselves (like leovold) is incredibly bad to play against. And the combos it does have allow you to literally draw your deck like we saw in the video
Anybody help me out with Flash? Is flashing in a big creature really that helpful? It still costs the same mana. I guess it dodges sorcery speed removal?
You just need to watch the video to understand. But TLDR, you don't flash with the intention of paying for the creature. You flash so you can pay 2 mana for very powerful etb and/or death triggers. It doesn't matter if Torsten doesn't stick around when he just drew you 5 cards and made 7 1/1s at instant speed for 2 mana.
Rj mentioned the main use. Think of it more like a Reanimate or Scam elementals. You cheat something in, and only after it's in play does it ask you to pay. So you simply decline but it's already out so your etb or death trigger kicks in. I'm pretty sure I've never seen any Cube vid where Flash has ever paid full mana for the creature.
“Ponder is like an imperial seal that doesn’t suck”
That made me laugh lol
Goes straight into the quote book.
"Ponder is like an imperial seal that doesn't suck" ~ LSV, 2024
This makes perfect sense to me.
EXACTLY it's like Imperial Seal but you don't pay 2 life and you get the card right away. No other differences
Came here to say exactly this

I once got to live the Nadu, lightning greaves, springheart nantuko dream in a cube run the other day lol.
It would be pretty cool to see you guys try an old vintage cube list from a few years back
BOOOO, go back in the archives, old man.

@@brandonbagley795 2017 would be cool too. When you said a few years, I thought you meant like 3 years…
With over 50000 cards there must be many other Cube draft more interesting and fun that watching the same every time

Do not pity the beast! ;D
wow that surveil into wrath. thats a great clip.
Missed an amazing title of "How could I Nadu a Flash deck", but the deck was sick!! It is also better saved for an Academy Deck...
LSV in his green era and I'm all for it
If the Flash deck isn't taking Triplicate Titan, it should maybe t be on the chopping block.
Tinker doesn't take it either...

Yeah, it's cutable.
Green 3 days in a row my theory is still alive
Green is the funnest color

A great deck with no power, full complaint equity intact, you live to see it!

59:11 gosh i was expecting a dream become true - hardcasting wurm
love these meta gamey, circle jerk cube drafts
Soon vintage will be the only format nadu is legal in
That first pack at the start was completely busted regardless of not having 'power' in it.
Very sweet deck, for all the mess it's causing in constructed Nadu seems very sweet in cube.
nice seeing flash play out, with the nadu support package. Looking forward to winston wednesday :)
Yeah I think your table underrates nadu, its so unbelievably broken when there is free ways present to target it, it goes so brrr
perhaps not everyone was as tuned into what has been added to the cube to make nadu so good. I mean I'm sure they know the cube list, but if this is the first time running this iteration and things like lightning greaves and bristly bill were just added, that makes quite a difference.
Bi-bi-bi-bird, bird, bird. Bird is the word !
What a fun draft, thanks as always LSV!
That was one hell of a lunch break!
Ordered one for mine, paid peak price now for a fancy version knowing it’ll be good in cube for a long time.
great deck, was fun to watch
Green is the new blue... with blue
Sandydog could help his team by not playing white/red every draft. People autohating those cards knowing he wants them is a big cost.
Cant teach an old dog new tricks

It's easier to play Aggro when you play mtgo the way he does.... And he just really likes white Aggro
I wonder if he keeps Comet out of this iteration because of Sandy, haha

wraths have gotten even better in cube with all the busted creaturs
Like I haven't seen enough of this bird yet 😂
25:30 "not sure what i'm go'Nadu with it"
good one.
Edit: 28:40 ... Edit2: Never mind!
Lightning greavers is an exception to being able to re-equip on the same creature, since shroud stops it being targeted...

I hope he doesnt draw anything he can clamp. Sick.
