You gotta realize One piece is brand new card game wise and still yet to have the hype pokemon has had for years in the tcg market. A lot of the anime watchers I talked to didn't know there was a card game. It'll definitely have its chance to boom even more after the One piece is found. World wide the anime is definitely recognized with the anime and live action.
I think one piece will rival Pokémon when it comes to cards. Obviously not games. But I think OP is in a great spot like you said. I show speed being brought out to Bandai fest in Orlando. Long time fans of the show are becoming collectors every day. One piece to the moon baby
I really love your videos I’d love to hear you discuss the wholistic market and if you see more growth potential for the game to take more market share because I certainly think it can
I do believe prices are good, whether you’re a player or collector, some cards are highly expensive but there’s so many options of the same card in different arts that help if you need for a deck
Always look forward for a one piece OP9 video!! U made me buy a sealed case of 09 , tucking it away for a while. Keep making amazing videos like this bro
@ValueTCG Just for clarifaction for my personal investing. weren't you saying in another video you don't believe in buying a bunch of boosters of one piece and holding as an investment? But you said having one of each box is fine?
@@MannySimoneCardsyessir!! I meant keeping 1 box for the very long term as a collection item. So I think it’s fine to have a case as long as you can stomach the inherent volatility in one piece booster box prices….so I usually buy a few boxes / 1 case per set and sell off as price fluctuations hit. Eg if OP09 box price starts following singles, I’ll sell a few boxes over time to make some money back. But ultimately I’m not confident enough in Bandais vision to keep a ton sealed for years and years!!!
I still think this game can take so much more market share, we’re even seeing 08 ticking up now that it is “out of print” there’s so much upside in this game I feel like
my biggest complaint as a new player is how much the meta affects prices. When I was learning the game and playing on the sim I was super stoked that rayleigh was only a 15 dollar card - suddenly shanks gets hyped and the card doubles overnight due to people buying up the supply and reselling it higher. EB01 is also egregious but at least you can make a case for there being a supply issue. I see OP08 boxes fully stocked at every LGS going for $60-$80 max - there should be no reason why this card is approaching $45. Bandai needs to figure out a way to stop scalpers from affecting the casual playerbase - aka ones just playing the game. EB01 should have definitely been reprinted in PRB and many other supers should have been included that weren't. Another treasure booster set could also help out - it's actually so crazy that people are buying common cards at 8 dollars a pop (looking at Usohachi and that one st03 event). There's only so much that bandai can do but it's ridiculous to see how greedy resellers are when people who are buying cards to play the game are getting screwed over. Secrets should not cost over $15-$20 and supers should not cost more that $5. If bandai can aim for those marks I think the game will be the best TCG in history.
Some criticisms. You don't seem to know the playability of the 10 cost cards in the decks that will play them. 10c shanks is a solid card in shanks and a few other builds. Buggy is a strong card in the buggy deck. The reason it's 20is lower is that deck isn't super competitive that is lowering the prices of buggy cards lower than Apts of other playable cards. Buggy 10c is 3 of in every buggy deck if not 4. The second is manipulation and hype are 2 different concepts. Hype is enthusiasm and fomo kicking in. The lottery of buying and pulling good cards. Manipulation is when money movers buy into the market at lower prices and either drive up prices by limiting supply or sell cards through dishonest means to push up prices. There was also a trick where fake buyer accounts would lock up cheaper card prices with fake purchases leaving their products as the only available options.
Agree to disagree! Hype and manipulation are two sides of the same coin. For example: It’s like saying TSLA stock isn’t hyped but manipulated or isn’t manipulated but hyped. It’s both, esp when you have momentum traders pushing the stock higher (manipulation) AND new entrants who are buying into the cult of Elon through equity ownership (hype). This is what happens in the equities market, but is human nature and is analogous to the cardboard market. Maybe even more so in TCGs because there’s no real fundamental valuation behind cards (therefore more prone to fluctuations in human emotions) AND the market is far more illiquid.

It’s great to keep track of the trend and prices

@ValueTCG wow super interesting! Definitely a different perspective but with experience to back it up

just bought the Boa SP before the price skyrocket, now I’m interested in seeing market trends. Great vid!
Nice pick up!
The reprint market will come and pass then sealed will slowly climb
To the moon indeed. I wonder how post-nats will impact the stonks
Thanks for doing market trackers. Not enough content creators looking at OP prices!
Sweet I’m in the US 🎉

Just what people want, to open boxes full of valueless card board.
📈📈📈
Pulled Black Beard manga, Luffy and black beard wanted and Boa SP
Yuh
I pulled 2 buggy wanted and sold them immediately lmao. Would’ve loved a luffy and a Marshall D teach
More videos please
Healthy bmi lol
Calling that 10-drop Shanks "not super playable" is a bit silly - Card is cracked lol
Haha it’s good! For prices though, you’re not going to stack 4 in your deck (or very unlikely), which limits price upside.
These prices are crazy😂
Dude.. why is no one talking about the fact theres 10 SPs in this set??
It means that there's only 1 SP type.. i.e Nami in 5 cases!!!! This is why the prices are so high right? Supply n demand????
Affordability is peak right now💪💯 Is the typical reprint that happens in February still expected?
@@iFOMO23 that’s my understanding, yes! Or at least a reprint between now and then.
