I enjoy seeing the positive side of my home sweet TNT instead of the negative for a change. Enjoyed the Parang. Bring back the culture and fun. Feels good to see people enjoying themselves Thank you 🙏 😊
It's for this same reason I don't pay attention to too much of the negative because I know how good a place T&T is. The amount of great things is going on there when I listen to the news. I let the good drown out the bad.
Great music and Great vibes! Thank you so much for sharing this Wonderful video!!! It showcases our wonderful culture. Nothing can beat our music at Christmas time! WOW I ABSOLUTELY LOVE AND ENJOYED EVER MINUTE OF IT!!!
WITH ALL THE FLOOD IN MY COUNTRY.MAY ALL BECOME CLOSER .AND CHERISH LIFE. AND EVERYDAY .WE ARE IN THE LAND OF THE LIVING .MANY MANY THANKS TO MY COUNTRY AND ALL MY BLESSED TEACHERS.WHO PREPARED ME FOR THIS TIME.
I actually thought the original went dormant to the more 😄 recent Soca parang. Happy it's alive seem like one has to venture deeper where the diaspora is located. Thank you. A pleasure viewing and with its season 😊 active. ❤️❤️❤️
@@eveblyn Many Years ago Spanish was commonly spoken in Trinidad. Today most of the singers learn it in high school but others learn from their parents and grandparents if they live in a home where Spanish is still spoken.
In a few of the bands there are now Venezuelans as members of the band. In fact one of the bands in this video has a Venezuelan in the front line. I have also read a newspaper article on a parang band composed only of Venezuelans but I have not heard them play.
I was born in Trinidad and to this day have no idea how this music is tied into Christmas, the average Trinidadian don’t speak Spanish, so is it the beat, please help me to understand? D living in Delaware
During the Cocoa boom years in Trinidad, many peons from Venezuela came to work on the Cocoa estates. During the Christmas seasons the peons sung these songs which were about the birth of Christ. As there were Cocoa estates in all parts of Trinidad the songs were widely heard and became popular. Also many if the peons remained in Trinidad and had families so the songs were passed down thru the generations. Although the average Trinidadian does not speak Spanish there are many Trinidadians who speak some amount of Spanish.
Also Trinidad was once owned by Spain and during one of the colonial conflicts with England and Spain, the settlement was Trinidad beinging handed to England. Its similar to the colonial conflict with France and England, that's how Canada came under British rule.
Los Alumnos did not perform at this event, they will be at other events this year. There was a limit on the number of bands performing so all the parang bands in Trinidad could not appear.
Did you enjoy seeing this parang event?
Throughly, rel enjoyed this one

What great memories this parang party brings for me as I look on in Florida. Well done to the pointboy12.
Thank you. Glad to have bring back great memories.
It is great to see that they have finally integrated the steelpan in parang; an evolving step.
Yes there are a few bands that now use a steelpan.
I disagree, some things need to remain pure and undiluted
Fantastic
Thank you

Well boy you miss out.
I think its about time Venezuelans living in Trinidad get involved in parang music, as it emanate from Venezuelan Spanish descents etc..

DAT BOX BASS MAN IS GOOD!
It is definitely nice to see a box bass being used.
Very beautiful; exactly where in Lopinot is this taking place?
This was at Cafe Mariposa. It is next to the church and opposite the school.
@@pointboy12 thank you so much; I am from south but I know the area.

A peon would be a laborer who worked on an estate
