Grace has crafted I Don't Know My Name to be both mournful and aspirational, bouncy and sing-along with hushed reverence intermingled. It has all the contradictions of youth built into the melody. Add to that the incredibly personal lyrics that young and old can relate to, and it elicits a very deep personal reaction, in almost everyone. But Grace IS this song. Well, auto-tune is not what I had considered, not with Greg Wells as the producer. Grace's voice is so rich and textured, I was concerned that anything more than the cello and minimal drums would dilute her best quality - emotion - it radiates from her. I have to believe that Grace knew what she wanted and that everyone (family included) was happy with the results. It's all Grace, till nearly the end - so incredible. The last chorus, and then that soaring orchestra, I was truly moved - beautiful.
I love this song, I have a 12-year-old and she loves to sing. She looks up to you and wants to be you. Even though she sings beautifully she doesn't believe it. She watches your audition and listens to the audio to get some confidence and I couldn't be able to thank you more.

Hi Grace, This is the first time I have heard the studio version. Of course I fell in love with your audition version. I had got out of the habit of watching AGT and wasn't even going to watch this season. I recorded the 2nd episode of the season and was fast forwarding through most of the acts until this young lady came out with a ukulele in hand. I have watched so many young ladies before trying to get their break singing covers and trying to sound like so many singers before them. I couldn't bare the thought of seeing another broken heart get their hopes and dreams dashed so I almost fast forwarded again. But when Howie said "you're a beautiful young lady do you know that" your response with that witty "why thank you" was gold. My attention was held up to when Simon said "do you think you can win" of course your response "miracles can happen, so possibly" will go down in history. At this point of time not in my wildest imagination did I think it could possibly happen. No one this young had won in ten years and no one certainly had won singing an original. It just wasn't going to happen. But I had to watch thinking how sad I was going to feel seeing another broken heart going home with her hopes dashed. Then the first words came out "I don't know my name". I sat there nervous and anxious waiting and then the final. When I heard "I now know my name" with the power and feeling I haven't ever seen on AGT or anywhere else I can remember I knew I was witnessing a star in the making right before my very eyes. Sorry to be so windy but I was leading up to how much I loved your audition version and it will always hold a place in my heart. That being said your studio version is a little different but is just as great and I couldn't be happier. I know you worked hard on it and you should be very proud. I know I am.

It is truly amazing and remarkable even unimaginable that a 10-12 year old was able to write such unique and powerful song. I don’t know all the technical terms for all the things in this song that blow me away but their are so many. Not just for the obvious reasons like Grace’s voice and the amazing lyrics. Those two things are great, but it’s all the other things that really amaze me. From the delivery of the lyrics to the pace changes in the music. It’s truly brilliant on every level and there are many many levels.

This is the first time I have heard the studio version. Of course I fell in love with your audition version. I had got out of the habit of watching AGT and wasn't even going to watch this season. I recorded the 2nd episode of the season and was fast forwarding through most of the acts until this young lady came out with a ukulele in hand. I have watched so many young ladies before trying to get their break singing covers and trying to sound like so many singers before them. I couldn't bare the thought of seeing another broken heart get their hopes and dreams dashed so I almost fast forwarded again.
But when Howie said "you're a beautiful young lady do you know that" your response with that witty "why thank you" was gold. My attention was held up to when Simon said "do you think you can win" of course your response "miracles can happen, so possibly" will go down in history. At this point of time not in my wildest imagination did I think it could possibly happen. No one this young had won in ten years and no one certainly had won singing an original. It just wasn't going to happen. But I had to watch thinking how sad I was going to feel seeing another broken heart going home with her hopes dashed.
Then the first words came out "I don't know my name". I sat there nervous and anxious waiting and then the final. When I heard "I now know my name" with the power and feeling I haven't ever seen on AGT or anywhere else I can remember I knew I was witnessing a star in the making right before my very eyes.
Sorry to be so windy but I was leading up to how much I loved your audition version and it will always hold a place in my heart. That being said your studio version is a little different but is just as great and I couldn't be happier. I know you worked hard on it and you should be very proud. I know I am.

We performed in music classes, in our own and others (the year 5s, 4s, 3s, 2s, 1s, and pre-primarys), in front of our school, and on the radio. It is truly amazing and remarkable even unimaginable that a 10-12 year old was able to write such unique and powerful song. I don’t know all the technical terms for all the things in this song that blow me away but their are so many. Not just for the obvious reasons like Grace’s voice and the amazing lyrics. Those two things are great, but it’s all the other things that really amaze me. From the delivery of the lyrics to the pace changes in the music. It’s truly brilliant on every level and there are many many levels.

Now I´m 11 and I still miss her a bit but she changed a lot, she has a fake piercing and insults the teachers but before she was a very nice girl. This song is so insanely beautiful and truthful. I mean what has happened to the world? Everyday I wake up and be someone I'm not. I try to be popular and avoid things I would actually enjoy. You know it so hard thinking about all this. Why does it have to be like this? Why does everyone have to change who they are just for others approval? Even though I am so against it, here I am being a hypocrite. I can't even stop myself. I lost me. It has been really hard.
