What I really love about your channel, Linn, is that you keep the "artisan" in your work and frequently still use hand tools. Way to go...excellent!

As everyone is saying, this board is so BEAUTIFUL ! Amazing to get a piece of ivy that size - well in the UK anyway ! Yes, a lovely light wood, not often equalled unless there is some bleached old wood on a seashore ! You ideas for the inserted materials are so unique, and what we have come to anticipate from such a creative and inspirational person ! Probably I'd put this up on a shelf as decoration. It will be interesting to see if it matures in colour with age ! Yes another brilliant project ! Well done !

Linn, I love the beach look of the piece. It's inspiring me to try my hand at epoxy.

I would like to say, though, that people generally opt for haste because they don't want to spend the necessary time to do something carefully and then they end up spending a lot of time in post processes just to make up for the haste. The lesson is: A lack of patience when beginning a project charges interest, in terms of time, in the end. It really can take more time to fix the mistakes made in haste than to take the time to do it carefully from the start. I guess it all depends on where you would rather spend your time.

what an awesome project. I have seen the finished product before in shops but never seen how its done before. I like them done with a darker timber but yours looks fantastic. I have seen people mount them on the wall as a form of art or as a focal point in a room, you can also make smaller one and turn it into a lazy susan for the middle of the dining room table or on a kitchen bench.

Just beautiful work, not unlike yourself Linn = ) Anyhoo, you are Spot On Linn about Holly. When i renovate homes, I reclaim/reuse as much wood as possible. There was one home i decided to remove some 30 year old 'Holly' bushes from around a house. Ohh, My Lord! I ended up going through numerous chain saw blades just getting them out of the ground....A few i attached chains to and pulled them out of the ground with my Truck. serious.

Nice work! I was researching turquoise inlay with resin but for lapidary cabochon or jewelry purposes and came across your vid, really cool! That “turquoise” is dyed Howlite which is a soft white stone stabilized and dyed, this is a great use for it since it’s so much cheaper than real turquoise (don’t get acetone on it, color usually bleeds).. way better use for it than using Howlite imitation turquoise in actual jewelry!

Of all the epoxy river pours I've seen on UA-cam, (and I've seen a lot), your use of crushed turquoise stones and shells looks better than those where they added pigment to the epoxy to get the color. It rivals the best ones I've seen where ingredients were added that created different effects like those that made the water look like it was flowing or swirling.

I don't think the shellac is actually polishing the epoxy, it does make it look "wet", and this is the result I got after sanding up to 220 grit.
