A solo journey across the vast pristine wilderness of Sarek National Park in Swedish Lapland. This journey was undertaken in August 2011. Music by Sofia Jannok and audionautix.com
+Bryan Resch Glad you posted that Bryan, I thought I was going around the twist. Maybe it's time for some new adventures. New ones would certainly give me a kick up the dark place in order to go do Hardangervidda later this year.
Impressive place Paul. I just got back from trekking in Fiordland New Zealand and many of your shots looked similar. Very enjoyable video. Cheers mate.
Good to see this again. I'm off to Finland next week, a family holiday in Levi (not camping unfortunately!) I also found out about the Sami singer Sofia Jannok through this video (now one of my favourite singers) so thanks for sharing. Steve
Hi Paul, this was the first video I watched of anyone doing this sort of thing. Became an instant fan of you and the adventures you undertake. I thought for a moment it had been taken down but I'm glad to see it's just been re-uploaded. Truly inspirational stuff. All the best mate.
Paul, great video of your trek. We are planning on going to Sarek and perhaps Asbisko parks and wondered if you have a map or GPS track of the routes that you took. Regards, Martin and Sharron
+martin critchley Hi Martin I don't have any GPS tracks as I never use a GPS device. I navigate by map and compass always. I don't have a map of this route at the moment I'm afraid.
Hello Paul, I have enjoyed wathcing your journey across Sarek. What a scenery!!! Next summer I plan to cross Sarek solo in about 15 days, startíng out in Kvikkjokk and ending in Ritsem. I am living in Denmark, and in the process of preparing my mind and body for the trip, by doing a lot of hiking in southern Sweden and cycling 5 days a week to the office. Also I am in the process of refining a gear-list. I am planning to eat around 3400 caloies a day at a weight of 850 gram a day. In your experience would that be enough? I can see that you take out from Ritsem and go south. Is there a special reason for that? Do you have experiences with taking 'top-tours' like "Ahkka" or "Skoarki"?Thank you so much.Best regards Søren
Søren Møller at 3400 calories for 15 days, what's your menu? I'm off to Norway and Sweden next month with a plan for Sarek but I struggle for food ideas sometimes. Mainly stocked up on carbs and fats but could you share some foods?
Hello Billy, for breakfast I plan to eat Müsli and Choko/Energy drink. For lunch/snacks mostly dried raisins, hazel nuts, energy drink, chokolate, protein bars and Snickers bars. For lunch freezedried meals such as pasta, rice etc. For deserts the as lunch/snacks. I hope this helps. Best regards Søren
+Asher Duff Not too many mosquitoes and ticks late Summer early Autumn. The water is fine to drink in this pristine area. No I don't usually carry an extra compass. Thanks for watching!
You’re amazing. You must be the first person to have done that hike!

Søren Møller Lovely job. I've got some of those things already but now my menu is complete, thanks Søren
No mosquitoes or ticks to worry about? Water purification? An extra compass?

There are no ticks in north Sweden. The winters are to cold for them to survive.
