Milling 1" x 10" Cedar Fascia Board on our Woodmizer LT15

Welcome back! Today we got a couple hours up on the mill to cut some 1" x 10" cedar facia boards. We had only a few cedar logs left at the mill, and the only one large enough to get these pieces out of was pretty curved and difficult work worth. However, with a bit of tricky maneuvering we got all the boards we needed and they came out beautifully. We love our Woodmizer sawmill and the ability that we have to produce a lot of our own lumber. Wood milling is a bunch of work but we find it extremely rewarding. We are still learning so much about how to get the best pieces of material out of every log but every time we saw something, we get better and better at it.

Great video. Lovely work. Can you do anything with the saw dust, make pellets for heating or something?

I would really love to do something with it. Up on the property I have used it in the garden, for composting and for chicken coup bedding, but I haven't gotten much past that. Ive heard of people making the pellets or fire starters out of them I've just never had time to do that!
