So there was a Group of seven boys in high school 25 years ago. One was from Taiwan and the other Six were white. We heard the song once in the Asians fathers car and we became instantly addicted to it. 25 years later we still hum this song. I asked my Taiwanese friend what the song was about and he said it’s really kind of lame and not worth repeating

Just a guess, but maybe the Taiwanese guy hates it is because the singer is strongly anti-Taiwan, as I've read on his Wikipedia entry.
