Thanks Dave, picking up a quick nugget on an evening outing is a great bonus, hope I can do the same later this evening. New video coming out this arvo, hope you enjoy the next one. Cheers, Pete
Yeah mate, down in the gully between 2 steep hills seen that motorbike there about 3 years ago. I’ve found gold going up the hill right near there and on top of the hill on the crusoe road side of that gully. Also heard of a 70 something grammer coming out near there.
@@danieldoxford3110 Sounds about right, I've found gold all over that area, its been a handy spot to just drop in. I know a bloke who found a 50 something grammer in there, sounds like it had some good gold found over the years.
Actually metal detecting on an old gold field might be the best place to search these days because it's really frustrating finding bottle caps and bullets so most people move on but look how much really good stuff they left behind.
My ideal area is working between reef mining on a ridge line and diggings below in a gully, gold had to travel down the slope and being a broader area you can get onto a little run of nuggets or like I did last year a tear drop shape patch from the reef that I was able to pull 2oz's from, rare but possible. Cheers, Pete
Your probably right, Kangaroo Flat isn't that concentrated though, but could show colour. A patch I worked down Castlemaine last year produced a couple of ounces in a smaller area, that would make for some interesting panning. If you watch my Monster pay dirt video, that was some awesome dirt for panning and I should do more from there. Cheers, Pete
Hi John, It was up the back of Carcoola Drive. This was the only thing there, I found the muffler near by and that's what identified it. The bike is now garden art. Cheers Pete
Thanks Pete I’m always on the lookout for relics. I Went right up the back towards water race and found cast iron steps from a horse gig, 2 1830s bottles and what looks like basic foundations for a tiny shack.
Good one, I enjoy finding relics and then researching them to find there history. One of the most interesting finds was a belt buckle from the Crimean War 1854, the battle of Alma it was found in the middle of a paddock out Lockwood.
Very interesting Pete. Thank you for sharing your adventures
No worries Steven, oldie but a goodie that video, thanks for watching the back catalogue.

Looks pretty dry, stay safe hey.
Thx 4 sharing
It's a bit dry and dusty for sure. Got wet prospecting today though, it rained until after midday, but it was worth it in the end. Cheers, Pete
Nice little nugget I'd like these little history segments you put in there cool picture. 🤟👍
Just sub to you too can't wait to see more. 🤟👍
Thanks for watching's and for the sub. I like to mix it up and when I can I'll show a few historical gold field sites.

I think I’ve possibly been detecting where that old motorcycle came from mate, between crusoe rd and Lockwood rd by any chance ?
Yeah thats the area, was the old bike there when you were detecting?

Are you taking test pans of the material that is around the nuggets you are popping out Pete? You might find some finer color!

Wow where exactly did you find the bike? And is there any other old stuff??

Nothing worse than being in a place you think no one’s stepped foot and finding bullet casings 😂
The bullet casings were everywhere, I guess they were a poor shot, nice to find a nugget in between. Thanks for watching, Cheers Pete
💪😎👍🇧🇷 🐉 23
Cheers mate, thanks for watching.
