Usman Azam they wanted susan Tully back....they'd pestered her for years ...but she said no point blank each time....they got in a talented theatre actress but must've felt it just wasn't the same so wrote her out again...after turning her into a practical paedophile

Obviously I'm not watching Eastenders at the moment but if your son, if your son comes home and tells you about something like that whether he's lying or not, you would as a parent believe him, feel protective and see red. Any parent would react like that, they don't second guess their son. It takes quite a bit for a parent to shake their confidence in their child and most parents don't care about what other women or other kids do, to them, they can do what they like, so it's not about hypercrisity, but it's when it affects them or their children
Stephen Key this is not the original Michelle that most of us either know or grew up with in the 80’s and early 90’s. The original/real Michelle was played by Susan Tully. When she left in 1995 I believe the year was she quit acting and started working behind the scenes mostly directing. She’s directed a number of iconic EastEnders episodes and still does work on the show from time to time. She turned them down when it was announced they was bringing Michelle back, so she was recasted which didn’t go down very well because not only was she an iconic character but one of the original cast members from the very first episode. It’s like if they was too announce that “Adam who plays Ian is leaving but don’t worry he’s being played by someone else from now on.” There would be again a massive backlash because again he’s an original cast member just like Sharon, Kathy and Dot are the only ones left for the very first episode. XoX

Ian for example has been there 36 years with no breaks so they would never recast him but Michelle was in it ten years and then left
