Powerless is great. A excellent choice to start your fantasy era. I loved the fmc and both mmc. The world building is easy and fun. I recommend this book as a good starting point.
Powerless is a great introduction! Then you can pick fantasies that are also very romance heavy like the acotar series, the bridge kingdom, kingdom of the wicked….then jump over to deeper fantasies but also with romance like the tog series, the Stephanie Garber books, dance of thieves Duology…and by then you should be hooked enough to love fantasy hahah I feel like these are a lot of romances we fantasy lovers started with and it made the transition easier so hope this helped!!
Now is the best time to read Powerless as well since the second book comes out July 2nd! Its a really good book to get into fantasy. It keeps you captivated while also not getting too complicated
Powerless is a perfect way to get into fantasy. Not a ton of world building but more fantasy than Divine Rivals. It's very very Hunger Games.... And the tension / slow burn is wonderful. I hope you love it. 🤞 ❤
I’m also going to read powerless in may! My first fantasy book was fourth wing and it was a great intro and probably my favorite book I read last year. I’ve only read that and the acotar books for fantasy, which are also great btw!
Powerless is my top read of the year so far it’s a great intro to fantasy!! The Two of Us was my top read of 2023 !! I hope you love it it’s so so good!
for agggtm series, I read kill joy last and it was fine. nothing too important that you would miss. and powerless!! ugh its so good, fourth wing and powerless are the best books to get into fantasy
The part where you were saying when you open a book and it just works with the way it looks to you. YES. I didn’t know if there were others out there like this. Most recently it was a fantasy romance and I think it would be a good one for people wanting to get into fantasy romance and it’s been getting even more hype lately. The first book is Spark of the Everflame by Penn Cole and book four (the last book) will be out on June 1. The magic system of it all is pretty easy to understand. It isn’t a situation of trying to remember an individual power for every character. Book three is a chunker but you’re already so wrapped up with the world that you aren’t actually intimidated by it at that point. Powerless is a good starting point even if I found it underwhelming. But I found it so because I’ve read things that did what Powerless did and thought they did it better. I’m heavily in the minority when it comes to Powerless though. I’m holding out hope that book 2 impresses and I’m able to fawn over the series the way others are. Read the popular ones. They’re popular for a reason.
I’m starting to read some sci/fantasy books- I have City of Bones, Clockwork Angel, and the Serpent & the Wings of Night on my May TBR plus book #2 Crown of Midnight in the Throne of Glass Series on my TBR
I’ve just started Powerless as my introduction to fantasy books and I think it’s a good book to start with, I keep a notebook close by to make notes to help me keep track of characters and their powers. I’m also buddy reading it with my fiancé who mostly reads fantasy so if I have any questions I just ask him. Maybe ask a friend who enjoys fantasy books to buddy read it with you, it feels a lot less intimidating knowing I’m not reading it alone
Oh my gosh this is so sweet!! I never feel like personal content would be wanted, so I appreciate this so much 🥹 maybe I’ll post a Q&A on my IG for an upcoming video. 💖
You can read killjoy either before or after the series! I read it after only because it came out after I finished the trilogy! It’s nothing crazy but a fun addition to the series! Love your content so much 💗
Hello Delaney! I am new here. I am so thankful to have found you. You do a wonderful job on your book reviews. I just bought Archer’s Voice and it will be the next book I start. I will let you know what I think.
My suggestion is just read Hunger Games & Red Queen instead of Powerless... The author basically copied those two series... The amount of praise for that book is unbelievable... Divine Rivals & Fourth Wing are better intros to Fantasy(both are 5 stars)

I’m planning to read Powerless in May too and can’t wait!! Also really excited to read The Familiar and The Wisteria Society of Lady Scoundrels 😊

Loved that one!! Do let me know your thoughts when you finish!!
personal *correct* opinion 🤣 i love it
Wellll am I wrong? 😂💓
I’m currently reading the hunger games series. After I finish that, I’m reading The Women by Kristin Hannah and Heartstopper by Alice Oseman
❤❤❤
Kill Joy should be read before the actual trilogy. It sets up for the reader Pip's personality.
Oops!!!
From what publisher are the katherine center books? Need the floppy editions 😊
Ballantine Books!
