I'm sure it's been a long and tough journey for you throughout this year. But, just like you said in your Persona 4 Golden walkthrough, "it was all worth it in the end". ;)
Fun fact: At 7:33 the radio in Sojiro's car played a new excerpt where a girl got killed in a car accident. This is only in Royal and not the original.
@@draconomega Yeah, context combined with lore along with a previous playthrough let's you notice so many things. Like I remember I missed the pancake part the first time and it blow me away how much it was there at plain site on my second playthrough on the original Persona 5.
Played through the game in 10 days with 140 hours during the pandemic. Was completely wrecked mentally afterwards, but it was worth it. Even got it to platinum and got all those profile pictures.
HOW are you still alive? It took me 3 months to beat Trails in the Sky FC. And that game was under 50 hours! You people are scary. I remember that one guy saying he beat the entire Cold Steel Saga in a week. Gamers are really scary people. Please be more healthy! You need to sleep more! No game is worth dying over! How else will you play persona 6 if you aren't alive to see it? But no seriously, how did you survive that without shutting down completely? I didn't sleep for 2 weeks on a camping trip once. I spent the 3rd week in bed.
I played it when it released on the PS, about the same amount of time but around 100 hours. Was easy when there was no reason to leave the house because of the pandemic
The change from social links to confidants make sense to me. In the other games, you make friends for no other reason than to make friends, you have no real gain from doing so from a story related perspective. But when it comes to P5, most of your social links are initially based on "give and take", where you get something to help you as a thief, like healing items from a doctor, more time off from a teacher and better equipment from an airsoft store. It's only later in the story of those confidants that your character becomes involved in their personal struggles, and you go from "just business" to a more friend based story. So i always felt it was a good change, as the nature of the bonds you make are fundamentally different from the other games, which is also reflected in the additional abilities you unlock from them...
@@CrowCrojoINTJ I usually just say 'rank up this (insert tarot card/character' and never fully state confidant or social link cuz I don't know why, but no matter which one i use, its apparently wrong even when i use the one the game does. I can't win.
1:29:56 Royal spoilers if you haven't finished the game and are watching this Akechi and Yoshi are actually optional and don't unlock the 3rd semester or true ending. Spending time with Akechi simply let's you get his 3rd persona, and Joker won't mourn Akechi and he won't appear at the train station at the end if you don't max him out. And spending time with Yoshi let's you do the other half of her confidant in 3rd semester. The only required confidant to actually get the 3rd semester itself is Maruki
@@Mikey-xj6cz I left out the cutscene part cause it's complicated, but yep, you have to pick "I want to keep our promise" while Joker is mourning Akechi in order to get Akechi's 3rd persona later Also with Yoshi that's what I meant, you have to do the first half of her confidant, or in other words the first 5 ranks, in order to be able to do the other half of it in the 3rd semester
You need Akechi maxed out to get the 3rd semester because if you don't you can't have the true ending for the base game either. Maruki and Sumire needs to be maxed out too (5 for Sumire) to unlock 3rd semester.
@@LunaLenaCh As I said in my comment, this is a false rumor that's been spread around far too much If you just want the third semester, the ONLY thing that you actually need is Maruki's confidant done. Akechi and Sumi's confidants will not affect whether or not the 3rd semester happens Doing Akechi's confidant does let you get his 3rd persona though and gives you a unique post credits scene where he appears in the train window. Doing the first 5 parts of Sumi's confidant let's you do the remaining half of her confidant in 3rd semester. If you don't do the first five parts of Sumi's confidant then you simply just won't be able to do her confidant during 3rd semester, the confidant will be locked. But the 3rd semester itself will still happen and you can still get the true ending
It will indeed unlock the 3rd semester, but what I'm saying is if you want to get the true ending, you NEED to max Sumire and Akechi. If you don't, it's not the true ending.@@CheesyLizzy
@@LunaLenaCh I don't know what you mean by true ending? The ending where you fight Maruki, talk to everyone, then go home is still the same whether or not you max out Sumire. I guess there's an argument to be made for Akechi since the post credits scene either has him in the train station or not in the train station depending on if you maxed him. That's only 3 seconds of different content though 🤷

This game is always going to be one of my favourite of all time. It gave me the motivation to actually check out the locations in real life. I went to Japan 4 years ago and I was blown away on how accurate the areas were, especially the stations, it was so good to find my way around just by my memory from the game. :D I went to Japan again, just came back yesterday, and it was a bit sad to see that a lot of areas changed since then, like the green train car from Shibuya was completely removed, some shops and restaurants closed or moved somewhere else. Also I started to get lost in big stations because somehow all of them were under some construction, so this time I couldn't get the proper Persona 5 Tokyo experience like I had last time. xD
Thanks for another awesome video! I appreciate that you kicked it up a notch to “normal” and provided your usual thoughtful and hilarious commentary through this truly unjust game
As someone playing through on Merciless for my first New Game Plus attempt, my first reaction was "oh, yeah, same feels" - and then the Normal mode had me cackling in my seat xD
1:08:55 I don't think Sojiro was asking Ann to flirt with her more so out of curiosity for the protagonist (after all I think it is implied that he has stopped looking for a relationship of any sort because he is taking care of Futaba)
its 100% out of curiosity, remember that he sees himself in joker. ann is really pretty so hes sort of like idk proud? which is also a bit weird but sojiro has never been a perv throughout the entire series nor has he made any comments about liking “young girls” of any sort. he is a lady killer but not a creep
With Akechi in the Interrogation room in Sae's palace, he wouldn't have noticed since as we see when leaving other palaces, or in cutscenes like kicking Ann out of Kamoshida's palace, you leave the Metaverse by going to the same location you entered. So by sending Akechi into the Metaverse in the only hallway between the stairs/elevator and the interrogation room, he's guaranteed to pass through his entry point on his way out of the building, dumping him back out into the real world. The dialog doesn't explain this particularly well, but it's perfectly in line with what we are shown leading up to that point. Sae needed the phone call so she'd go back to get the real Joker, which would also result in her passing through the entry point and getting dumped back into the real world. _Presumably_ Futaba was watching whatever GPS tracking she had on Askechy's phone to see when he exited the Metaverse/where he is to time it so Sae wouldn't pass him on her way back to collect Joker. *Edit:* Also, he's not a serial killer, he's an assassin. One's a profession and one's a mental illness!
Doesn't akechi kind of count as both an assassin and a serial killer in this case, he's a professional but the true side of himself is delusional and crazy
Actually Futaba put prerecorded measages on Ren's phone to stall Sae and keep her from running into Akechi she literally explains this in Royal if you talk to her
@@ImNotDragoon Yes, she used recordings, but since there's no way she could have known how long any of it would have taken to the degree of accuracy needed to ensure Sae and Akechi didn't re-encounter each other or otherwise tip off Akechi, there must have been something to control the rate that the messages were sent, whether that's an app she wrote to detect Akechi's location and/or the death of Cognitive-Joker and trigger the recordings or her sitting somewhere out of sight using her semblance to manually detect it and trigger messages.
The Igor voice change is because the original actor for the JP version sadly passed before the game entered later phases of production, so they changed him out. It's said the writers used this to create the twist. I'm not sure why they didn't reprise the English VA for the real Igor that appears after the fake is gone. Maybe out of respect because that wasn't possible in the JP version?
2:36:13 Ryuji's 3rd persona William is called that because he's Captain William Kidd And Maruki's 2nd persona is Adam Kadmon because he's Adam from the Bible. I agree that the names can sound underwhelming, but the characters are cool
If you look into "Adam Kadmon" it's even WEIRDER since he's not actually the first human Adam -- but a Jewish Kabbalah anthropomorphism of "the Infinite Light of YHWH". Kadmon is the "Primordial Man", an incorporeal intelligence in the image of God without the flaws of earthly, physical humanity. Of course this ties into how the "Blind Idiot God" Azathoth was transformed by Maruki's willpower and Treasure (torch) into a being of pure heavenly light xD
@@CheesyLizzy gnosticism is nuts, it and old testament are way more in line with paganism and native religions like Shinto. If only you care to look into it.
@2:05:00 In the dialogue Futaba explains that it was all done via a pre-recorded message. Futaba's call to Sae is actually a pre-recorded message that instructs her what to do in order to trigger her walking back through the hallway which causes her to re-enter the real world. Whenever the Navigation App is triggered it leaves a portal for the entering party to pass back through, which is why for example Ryuji at the beginning of the game is able to just push Ann back out of Kamoshida's Palace, not knowing that she now had the app and could just re-enter. It's also why at the end of all the Palaces the team always ends up back where they entered the Palace in the real world. Also Futaba is able to remotely trigger the nav app on joker's phone when Sae shows it to Akechi, it was specifically a ploy just to make sure that Akechi and Sae were standing next to each other when the app was activated, so ensure that he would be pulled in with her. She just used GPS to track the two phones (since she has a bug planted on Akechi's) and once they were in proximity of each other and not moving, she triggers joker's nav app by using the search history function to re-enter Sae's Palace. They walk their separate ways but a portal is created in the middle of the hallway, which means the only way for Akechi to exit the building was to go through the portal again (thus leaving the cognitive world) but Sae needed to be instructed to walk back through the hallway and back to the interrogation room in order to force her back into the real world. The only reason this works is because Akechi and Sae were walking in opposite directions once they entered the cognitive world. In order to make sure Akechi didn't catch onto the plan, Sae was told to immediately turn back around and confront the guard, and tell him to leave immediately. Thus making it look like (to Akechi) the guard had been killed. Then she simply waited in the interrogation room with Joker until the team confirms that Akechi has safely left the area.
Excellent job on walking us through this updated re-release of Persona 5! I especially love how this walkthrough renews various gags from your walkthrough on the original game with a few new twists here and there.
It felt good to reexperience Persona 5 after 3 years, especially with your humor. I'm definitely looking forward to that Xenoblade Chronicles 3 video because your videos on the other Xenoblade games were some of the earliest videos I watched of yours and even though it's my only experience with Xenoblade, I really enjoyed them
I agree that the P5R Opening is a lot more loved than OGP5 but I still think the main menu and theme of OGP5 is better than P5R. Something about the low thumping bass and them hanging around in a train station underground fits the whole "Phantom Theves" idea in my head better than them rompin around Shibuya. Plus the small detail of the clock displaying the actual time is cool
@Moonlight-fh7yo I mean if you like the new one more, that's fine, I personally like the OG better. I think the OG had different animations based on what you selected too, but to be fair, it's been a long time, and I dont really remember
8:10 In defense of the curry for breakfast, Americans usually eat nothing and drink coffee, or eat cereal, which is worse. And Chicken and Waffles are a staple here not for breakfast. And the British folks eat beans, which isn't a breakfast food at all either. So it really boils down to the culture/people and what a person wants and likes.
1:06:44 it must be either puberty or body dysmorphia (When I was going to the ballet class at between ages 5-11, 11th was my hardest because my body was constantly changing ‘growing up’ similar to Yoshi lady’s situation. I can go with puberty tbh)
Bruh the diagram of the Metaverse transfer during the murder segment with Goro, Ren, and Sae was so fricken helpful. Funny looking, but such a good way of illustrating it, you have NOOOOO idea how much of it was just me "running and agreeing" with what happened like it was normal lol
Yes Ryuji is also my favorite, he's such a bice guy and the broest bro of the persona series. Especially since he doesnt have a jealous arc at all, hes just your beat friend. Literally if Ryuji send me a message idc if the wifey Makoto trying to do, im going to see Ryuji! Favorite team is team double date, with joker, skull, panther, and queen. Good balance of support and magic attack. Also i like saying "get em honey!" Everytime i baton pass to Makoto 😂
Persona 5 royal was such an amazing experience, I had played the original game and that made me cry when I finished it , when I played this over again , the game once again didn’t fail to make me cry , during the last fight I was tearing up. Thanks Atlas for making such a phenomenal game! Time to go to the other persona games now!
Fun facts: Yaldabaoth is the false god of the Old Testament. He created the physical world and trapped souls in bodies to torture them in his world of suffering. Satanael is Satan’s original name (believe it or not), however other sources say he is an interpretation of Lucifer before he became Satan. He is also the prince of all fallen angels. He gave free will to humans and created chaos, which is poetic in a way since in the Yaldabaoth fight Satanael kills him, releasing the public from a hive mind of sorts and making everyone’s lives free from control. He’s also Yaldabaoth’s brother. However, what makes all this confusing is that Satan is also known as Yaldabaoth. They’re the same person. But at the same time he’s the son of the false god, or more accurately the “darker half” which just means the previous, false God. So are Satanael and Yaldabaoth brothers, the same person or father and son? I don’t know. Satanael is also the main figure of Satanism which is always, always confused for devil worship and sacrifices and all that cringe stuff. Satan is not worshipped in Satanism, in fact nobody is. It’s about living by 7 rules which simply tell you to be your best self without being a dick. So if Satanael is Joker’s true, evolved Persona… does that mean he’s like the Jesus of Satanism?
I swear the women beating up ryuji after all that shit he did in shidos palace is still the second worst part of the game. First worse is the morgana acting like a little bitch arc. He calls ryuji stupid constantly and gets all smugnbut as soon as ryuji claps back hes like a youtube prankster who gets shot
They also just kept making it worse and worse. Morgana keeps doubling down on "I'm not useless, don't call me useless" while doing jack shit. At that point he hasn't even been in my team for like 50 hours and the last time he said something useful about the metaverse was similarly long ago. Character gets kinda redeemed toward the end, but for the most part he was just a cuddly cat.
@@dowfreak7 And after all that idiots in the west still don't understand why he would feel this way. It was nothing to do with Ryuji they had been insulting each other since the start. Ryuji was just the final straw because of how blunt he is.
@@ondururagittandeska2004 Ryuji was indeed the only person in the Phantom Thieves who insulted Morgana - no one else did - yet it's somehow enough to make Morgana leave.
Holy shit, I didn't even realize that Nenji and Maruki had the same VA. Thank you. And also yes, please, to the 13 Sentinels video I always thought the blurry, no audio segments were done for anyone who didn't pick up on the pancakes line or may have forgotten about it. I was stoked when I realized on my first playthrough but I can see people missing it entirely. What bothers me more is that Sae (not say btw), who was in the metaverse, can't understand Morgana even though that's the explanation given for understanding him. It's probably more accurate to say someone with the potential/a Persona can understand him, rather than just having to be in the metaverse.
for how Frank would grant both wishes, for you wanting mac'n'cheese and me not wanting you to have mac'n'cheese, what I think would happen would be that you would get the mac'n'cheese but my brain would actively ignore it so if i was looking at you with the mac'n'cheese, i wouldn't see the mac'n'cheese unless someone told me to focus on the mac'n'cheese, in which case my brain would be forced to recognize the mac'n'cheese, therefore "breaking" Frank's reality making me no longer under Frank's wish worlds control. yes i know this is a weak explanation but come on Frank's reality is an unstable one that is kept together by the people in it subconsciously ignoring the cracks, heck this even happens in the game where the party ignore the inconsistencies that exist in Frank's world but when the player makes them think about it then the party break free from Frank's world. all this from a stupid mac'n'cheese joke dang
I'm currently playing through Reload, but I noticed how some people on the Internet seem to think Joker's autisic. And (for the games) that's true for all modern Persona Protagonists(Naoya, Tatsuya, and Maya don't count since they have an esablished personality). Makoto/Minato are apathetic, and thus stoic. From how he acts (and my personal Headcanon), very much early autistic behaviour. I should know because I am autistic. By the age of 2, if a baby hasn't tried interaction at all, shown a fondness to a Routine, they are most likely Autisic, but equally as likely to have ADHD (their symptoms can overlap). Kotone/MInako have much more of a personality so they're apathetic only due to (spoilers) 1999 shadow shenanigans. Yu shows the later stages of Autism. Much more of a personality, but still shows a lack of emotion. Joker is who I relate the most due to using Circus baby tactics: Pretending. In the real world, he's like Yu, but he's his true self in the Metaverse. He's using Carl Jung's teachings to his advantage, using a Mask to act like who he's not. Autistic people do the same, but to hide their Autistic nature, to act normal. Which is why when the Autisic friend tells people they're autistic, they don't believe them because of their acting. Anyways, just wanted to point out this detail. Please let me know of any evidence against this theory, and i'll do my best to rely and rebuttal your response. I watched enough Judge Judy and Ace Attorney to know how to win an argument.
Maruki severely triggered me. He was an awful doctor & just used manipulation tactics to push people to "choose" his path. What he wanted was a meat puppet world like yaldaboath (except nicer looking). He changes a person's entire personality if it could potentially create pain (ex: the artist who now in his world never painted), fundamentally "killing" the person they were. No one in that world would actually be happy, they're just dolls feeling what he wants them to feel. I do like the story & his character, to be clear. I hated his self-righteousness. I was agreeing with akechi the whole time.
This game helped me accept circumstances. I had a really bad falling out with my best friend, and I’d have dreams that her and I were friends again. I was willing to go to extremes just to make things go back to how they were. I remember thinking that I wished Maruki’s reality was real. Because I was in so much pain from the break up essentially. But watching the phantom thieves not accept the fake reality, even though they were happy there, it helped me come to terms with the fact that I don’t need them in my life. And that I should try to move on instead of trying to fix it/make things go back to how they were.
Omg this came out exactly a year ago, holycow I accidentally fell back into the Persona 5 rabbit hole so thank you for always being there to keep me trapped 🥹💖💖
They used the call to get sai to walk back because since the entry point was in the hallway (the phone creates an entry when the app is used). They also needed her to go get joker. Without the call, she would have no reason to go back.
46:05 it's typically 2 per floor, with the exception of rest stops and the end of each section. Yes, the first Qimranut, which is only 2 sections, and Aiyatsbus, which acts as an intro to the stamps, usually only have 1 on each floor, but after that I consistently found 2 on each floor
2:05:30 From what I understand it wasn't the phone call itself that brought Sae back, instead when you walk through the place that you entered the metaverse in, it works as an exit and takes you back This isn't ever outright stated in the game though and is just my best guess on how it works. Since in the cutacenes where the thieves escape the palaces they're always running for "the exit" instead of just exiting from where they are Honestly the whole fake death escape plan is held together by duct tape and I wish it was a better plan there's so many holes. Like what would they have done if Sae didn't bring Joker's phone to the interrogation? And why rely on Joker being able to convince Sae, the one still has a palace and is prosecuting him, to turn around and help them when he's so beaten and drugged up it's hard to think straight? And what if Akechi recognized the feeling of entering the metaverse and immediately left? And was there no one who was supposed to take care of Joker's body? How did a death certificate get made? I get that the game's trying to say "Oh the police are so corrupt they don't even need a body to make a death certificate." But was Joker's body just going to be awkwardly left in that cell if he really died? Who was supposed to check on Joker and then said nothing when he was suddenly missing from his cell??? There's just so many holes in the plan, but I love this game in spite of it
Agreed on your commentary about the location, but I think Sae also had to be in contact with the Metaverse Nav App to easily enter the Metaverse to begin with. The assassin also had to enter the Metaverse in the interrogation room hallway to ensure he'd cross back out of the Metaverse eg. Sae's cognition of that room and return to the normal world. She also had to leave that room and go back through the hallway to leave that cognitive world. Another commentor has also clarified that Futaba might have been tracing their movements to time the phonecall appropriately. I think that, alongside convincing Sae, Joker's role was also to keep her talking for long enough for the Change of Heart to trigger and impact on her decisions. The death certificate was faked by one of the doctors/forensic specialists in Shido's pocket, working with the police to cover up plenty of other discretions beyond that I'm sure - it's not that the police themselves as a whole are that corrupt but that Shido's power at this point was getting dictatorial. He's meant to resemble the leader of a populist fascist movement and one part of that is access to shady information tampering. It's still got plenty of holes, though!
@@DebbieJacksonArtist The change of heart couldn't have impacted Sae's decisions though because they never actually changed her heart. They just pretended to. And yep there's so many holes XD
I just realized something, how did Akechi not notice that Sae's Palace never collapsed? How was he planning on having the police securely arrest Joker if it did collapse as planned? He knows that palaces disappear when a change of heart or mental shutdown happens Gosh I'm just gonna go take a break
@@CheesyLizzy I'm of the understanding that Sae's heart was slowly changing as they spoke; she still managed to curb the excesses that had given her a Palace to begin with. Much like Mishima's Mementos mission, I think the game implies that the PTs and especially Joker inspired her enough that she was able to change her own heart. She says afterwards that meeting everyone inspired her to realise that what she actually prized was not success in others' eyes but true righteousness in the world. "There is... one more thing. I haven't even told Makoto about this... But I realized something after meeting all of you. My most prized "treasure" is the justice I use to protect those important to me. Makoto helped show me that as well." Presumably this process was begun there but concluded after Joker's extraction was completed, so the Palace didn't fall apart... which even if true is still definitely a HUGE risk to take! The only answer I can imagine to that is that the Palace collapses when the Treasure is stolen but NOT when the Heart is changed, a process that takes place on a different timescale outside Mementos ... otherwise it could have collapsed at any time between the boss fight and end of interrogation. With at least one member inside, incapacitated and imprisoned in a jail cell the whole time. Akechi on the other hand was relying on the Palace staying in one piece because Joker was to be apprehended before leaving - and so would never get the chance to take her Treasure back to the real world. When his work is done, he leaves the Palace. I don't know whether he stashed her "Treasure" somewhere and thus expected the change of heart to fail, or if he removes it at this point alongside himself. But he's interestingly unsurprised on the yacht that the PTs managed to outfox him, so I think he starts to suspect, somewhere in between.
in terms of pancakes being stuck in the metaverse in the confusing part, I think it's probably that pancakes used his phone to go to another part of the metaverse to get rid of the SIU director and then went back to the real world himself. yes i know there are probably many flaws with this theory but it's better than just saying; "i don't know, he's stupid that's why."
I highly recommend Persona 5 Strikers for people wanting more P5. It surprised me with how incredible of a sequel it was and the new additions to the Phantom Thieves are awesome.
The hate on Mementos was seen in P5, but in P5R I really like the small changes they did with it. I love P5R and now that I know it's moddable on Steam I might buy it again...
P5r was my introduction to the persona and shin megami tensei series, so this dialogue and all the reaction jokes literally make me feel so seen. Perfectly encapsulates my confusion on learning the game lmao (shout out to not getting the controls, I have the switch Vers and even playing it on tv I got vertigo figuring out the map navigation lol)
I just beat the Shido arc, but I apparently didn't meet the criteria for the last story part. But I'm going through the game again until the P3 remake releases
Been a while brotha! Wild to think it's been 3 years since those bonkers streams back in the day... it's been a wild few! Almost 5 since I joined the old Discord server too... Seeing the clips from the old streams really took me back... I also replayed P5R when it came out and I enjoyed it a whole ton - loved this video much the same as the old one. Hope all's well with you too!
1:56:18 This is misinformation. Yes there is a flag here that tracks whether or not you picked "You're my rival" buuuuuut that flag ended up going ununsed so it actually does nothing! :D The only text option that actually does matter for Akechi's 3rd persona is picking "I want to keep our promise" later
I love how the big indictment against Okumura is that he abuses his employees for the sake of profit, as if he's uniquely guilty of that crime and it's not just standard operating procedure for every corporation on Earth.
Fun fact: The scene where Ryuji reveals he survived Shido's palace was originally scripted to be a lot harsher towards him, having the entire team chew Ryuji out for making them think he was dead. Also, how did they get a recording of themselves in their Thief attire when it's shown early on that recording equipment doesn't work in the Metaverse?
I just always assumed Futaba's masterful hacking abilities let them film the guys with their costumes on. Although it'd have been a nice easter egg if it just turned out they bought/made those outfits irl and you see them lying around Joker's attic near the end of the game.
also, since ive seen noone talk about it: on ps4, in Mementos, if you are riding in the van, you can actually make mona purr if you drag your finger on the touchpad, somehow that doesnt seem to work on pc
2:05:01 Easily solvable. When Sae went back to rescue joker, her heart had finalized a change in a similar manner to Mishima and his confidant. (Talked to rather than fought and treasure stolen) This change of heart caused her Palace to collapse. And as Akechi wasn't in the palace proper, he would not have noticed the palace collapsing. And given how the transition between real and cognitive worlds is it seamless, (No vertigo or anything of the sort) Akechi would have had no idea he was ever in the palace.
I really liked Yoshizawa, but ultimately her character left me really disappointed. Mostly because she was such a great character, and I found myself wishing she had been in more of the game. The bait and switch with the Casino in particular annoyed the shit out of me. lol My expectation: Sweet she joins you for the final palace, climax and epilogue Atlas: Um... about that.... I get it, she wasn't in the original version of the game so I shouldn't expect them to remake a ton of the game to accommodate one extra character. But the way they implemented her felt like a constant tease, and by the time she does join you the game is basically over.

Also, people don't trust joker much, because of the criminal record. So they have to take the time to get to him before they start being friendly.
and yet I still see people calling them interchangeably :(
@@CrowCrojoINTJ I usually just say 'rank up this (insert tarot card/character' and never fully state confidant or social link cuz I don't know why, but no matter which one i use, its apparently wrong even when i use the one the game does. I can't win.

Akechi and Yoshi are actually optional and don't unlock the 3rd semester or true ending.
@@Mikey-xj6cz I left out the cutscene part cause it's complicated, but yep, you have to pick "I want to keep our promise" while Joker is mourning Akechi in order to get Akechi's 3rd persona later
Also with Yoshi that's what I meant, you have to do the first half of her confidant, or in other words the first 5 ranks, in order to be able to do the other half of it in the 3rd semester
You need Akechi maxed out to get the 3rd semester because if you don't you can't have the true ending for the base game either.
Maruki and Sumire needs to be maxed out too (5 for Sumire) to unlock 3rd semester.
@@LunaLenaCh As I said in my comment, this is a false rumor that's been spread around far too much
If you just want the third semester, the ONLY thing that you actually need is Maruki's confidant done.
Akechi and Sumi's confidants will not affect whether or not the 3rd semester happens
Doing Akechi's confidant does let you get his 3rd persona though and gives you a unique post credits scene where he appears in the train window.

Tudu-dudut-duduuu!
Actually Futaba put prerecorded measages on Ren's phone to stall Sae and keep her from running into Akechi
she literally explains this in Royal if you talk to her
@@ImNotDragoon
Yes, she used recordings, but since there's no way she could have known how long any of it would have taken to the degree of accuracy needed to ensure Sae and Akechi didn't re-encounter each other or otherwise tip off Akechi, there must have been something to control the rate that the messages were sent, whether that's an app she wrote to detect Akechi's location and/or the death of Cognitive-Joker and trigger the recordings or her sitting somewhere out of sight using her semblance to manually detect it and trigger messages.
I mean, they're not mutually exclusive.
Akechi *is* a psychopathic (mass) murderer. He just also gets given targets and is presumably paid for it.
2:36:13 Ryuji's 3rd persona William is called that because he's Captain William Kidd
And Maruki's 2nd persona is Adam Kadmon because he's Adam from the Bible.

Dude this is the funniest thing I've seen in a while. Thanks man. I needed a good laugh.

What bothers me more is that Sae (not say btw), who was in the metaverse, can't understand Morgana even though that's the explanation given for understanding him. It's probably more accurate to say someone with the potential/a Persona can understand him, rather than just having to be in the metaverse.
Jesus that Danganronpa joke had me laugh uncontrollably
for how Frank would grant both wishes, for you wanting mac'n'cheese and me not wanting you to have mac'n'cheese, what I think would happen would be that you would get the mac'n'cheese but my brain would actively ignore it so if i was looking at you with the mac'n'cheese, i wouldn't see the mac'n'cheese unless someone told me to focus on the mac'n'cheese, in which case my brain would be forced to recognize the mac'n'cheese, therefore "breaking" Frank's reality making me no longer under Frank's wish worlds control.
yes i know this is a weak explanation but come on Frank's reality is an unstable one that is kept together by the people in it subconsciously ignoring the cracks, heck this even happens in the game where the party ignore the inconsistencies that exist in Frank's world but when the player makes them think about it then the party break free from Frank's world.
all this from a stupid mac'n'cheese joke dang
You probably have a lot planned already but I'd recommend giving P5 Strikers a shot.
It's a really good sequel IMO
I would love a 15 minute version of just the MEMES!
I get what you mean. For me, the most dangerous villains are those who either don’t understand or refuse to accept that what they’re doing is wrong.
And that I should try to move on instead of trying to fix it/make things go back to how they were.
that was the point

They used the call to get sai to walk back because since the entry point was in the hallway (the phone creates an entry when the app is used). They also needed her to go get joker. Without the call, she would have no reason to go back.

I would love your take on 13 Sentinels, holy shit what a good game
2:05:30 From what I understand it wasn't the phone call itself that brought Sae back, instead when you walk through the place that you entered the metaverse in, it works as an exit and takes you back
This isn't ever outright stated in the game though and is just my best guess on how it works. Since in the cutacenes where the thieves escape the palaces they're always running for "the exit" instead of just exiting from where they are
Honestly the whole fake death escape plan is held together by duct tape and I wish it was a better plan there's so many holes.
He knows that palaces disappear when a change of heart or mental shutdown happens
Gosh I'm just gonna go take a break
Makoto helped show me that as well."
Presumably this process was begun there but concluded after Joker's extraction was completed, so the Palace didn't fall apart... which even if true is still definitely a HUGE risk to take!
This plan has more plot holes than Chrono Trigger, but oh well.
The thumbnail art keeps getting better
My favourite thing about the ending is the fact that in this bombastic adventure with spiritual weapons is that the final fight is a fist fight 😂😂
I was lukewarm on vanilla Akechi but I ADORE 3rd semester unhinged feral Akechi lol
in terms of pancakes being stuck in the metaverse in the confusing part, I think it's probably that pancakes used his phone to go to another part of the metaverse to get rid of the SIU director and then went back to the real world himself.
yes i know there are probably many flaws with this theory but it's better than just saying; "i don't know, he's stupid that's why."

Hope all's well with you too!
Petition to make Futaba's "Recycled gags suck" a new recycled gag in ur videos
Wow seeing the No Complaining. shirt again brings me memories. Still in my draw to this day
Subbed, awesome intro, haven't gotten to play the game myself yet, so, saving the video for when I do, you are awesome! 😃
1:55:25 Her tapping the bomb matched up with the song 😭
Your editing in this was amazing literally had me sending clips to my friend every 5 minutes
1:56:18 This is misinformation. Yes there is a flag here that tracks whether or not you picked "You're my rival" buuuuuut that flag ended up going ununsed so it actually does nothing! :D
The only text option that actually does matter for Akechi's 3rd persona is picking "I want to keep our promise" later
The little laugh he put in for evil Igor killed me it was so funny
1:47 I can't believe they added Grover Cleaveland to this game!
Oh my god I just got the game a month ago and am almost done and now I find out my boy ramzaes has made a recent video on it? That's PERFECT!
I think if you get all the stamps you get the jose boss fight and backstory.
Tbh i liked the real sumire more than kasumi
She's adorable 😢
I got an ad for Mac and Cheese when I clicked on this video
I love how the big indictment against Okumura is that he abuses his employees for the sake of profit, as if he's uniquely guilty of that crime and it's not just standard operating procedure for every corporation on Earth.
Hey Ram, love the content
Ill come back when I've finished the game myself
Persona 5 Royal is my favorite Tycoon simulator.
Amazing video man, also: CHEEESE!
29:52 oh my gosh I forgot about wtf bomb
I was just thinking about something to make my evening better - and here you are)
Wake up wake up Ramzaes new video about persona 5 royal.
They can make the costumes
Cant really explain how morgana was able to look like he does in palaces@Pugkin-xs9kd
@@halikarnak1862 I mean, you can
@@Pugkin5405 how? A metaverse Morgana costume for a cat?
Finally the long awated Thiefsona: cheese edition.
also, since ive seen noone talk about it: on ps4, in Mementos, if you are riding in the van, you can actually make mona purr if you drag your finger on the touchpad, somehow that doesnt seem to work on pc
This was really great, I loved all the jokes!
You only need to max out Maruki to unlock the new content 👍
What happens when you get to the reawakening of the faith arcana if you haven’t maxed it out
@@mrcat4508you don't unlock ranks 6 to 10(also, ik that was 2 months late. Sry about that)

Easily solvable.
When Sae went back to rescue joker, her heart had finalized a change in a similar manner to Mishima and his confidant. (Talked to rather than fought and treasure stolen)
This change of heart caused her Palace to collapse. And as Akechi wasn't in the palace proper, he would not have noticed the palace collapsing. And given how the transition between real and cognitive worlds is it seamless, (No vertigo or anything of the sort) Akechi would have had no idea he was ever in the palace.
51:25 this is burned into my memory.
jokes on you, I watched the 12 hour analysis of persona 4 golden in the span of 2 days!
32:17 omg not YandereDev 💀. too perfect for Kamoshida

Me: “oh no. We’re near the end and he hasn’t even started on the 3rd semester stuff yet”
I really liked Yoshizawa, but ultimately her character left me really disappointed. Mostly because she was such a great character, and I found myself wishing she had been in more of the game. The bait and switch with the Casino in particular annoyed the shit out of me. lol
My expectation: Sweet she joins you for the final palace, climax and epilogue
Atlas: Um... about that....
I get it, she wasn't in the original version of the game so I shouldn't expect them to remake a ton of the game to accommodate one extra character. But the way they implemented her felt like a constant tease, and by the time she does join you the game is basically over.
