    So nice to have stumbled over your video ! I'm Swiss myself but grew up as a child in the US, in near Pontiac Michigan in the early 80s :) Go Lions, Tigers and Pistons !
    Personally i would switch Emmentaler for Vacherin Fribourgeois (if that's even available tho..) and use much less wine. I would however, without a doubt, be honored to try your dish if i had the chance :) Fondue and Raclette are my favorite traditional Swiss dishes. I could stuff myself with cheese and potatoes and Silberzwiebeln ( the tiny onions) until i explode. But only from November to February, and only if it's really cold outside. Like Ice cream on a hot summer day, Fondue and Raclette are imprinted in my brain as a food for cold winter days :)

      Go Lions, Tigers and Bears OH MY. I've not heard of the cheese you mention and it might not be known on the west coast, even with all the Artisan cheese we enjoy. I will have to look for it in my next Fondue. Thanks for stopping by and commenting. Isn't if funny how our childhood meals become such an important part of our adult life?

    hay there first let me tell you that's by far the best version of american made fondue i have seen. and you even have the correct pot! second sorry for any spelling or grammar mistakes i make, i'm swiss and english is not my native language. ;) i've seen vids of "melting pot fondue" oh lord my poor swiss heart was bleeding. one lady made fondue with butter, milk,flour and worcestersauce.(+ cheddar chees) serving it with bread, french fries and... (wait for it) MEATBALLS!!! at this poit i was near tears. so thats that.. so again your fondue looks grate and i love that you keep to your swiss roots: :D many greetings from Switzerland

      +LadySev2 Thank you for your kind words. Yes, the horrors that people do to melting pots of cheese and then call it "fondue". Keeping the tradition, and enjoying the flavors of Switzerland. Someday I hope to visit and try the "real deal" in the Alps ~Cheers.

      +jehova wreggeles Thank you for watching and sharing. I love the wine in the fondue, I really don't want only cheese. This is the fondue I was raised on and I think it's the best one :-) I hope to visit Switzerland one day and have one there!

      +From the Kitchen of LindySez The wine IS great in the Fondue but you use to much or you have to ad starch...;-)

      +jehova wreggeles Ah, and yet we do not add any starch. Did that one time per a recipe we read, and it was the worst fondue ever. The wine didn't soak the bread, the cheese didn't coat the bread...I use 1 to 1 1/4 cups wine per pound of cheese and find that to be a good proportion. It's the final shot of Kirsch makes it yummy :-)

    You can and should use starch, but you have to stir it in correctly, it's not that simple and if you do it wrong, you'll mess up the whole thing

      No you don't HAVE to use starch, but if you like it grainy and not homogenous then go ahead. Cheers ~ Lindy

    For make a traditional swiss cheese fondue, You must have Le Gruyère AOP! Not a copy of Emmentaler... Sory le Gruyère AOP is not in USA.
    Your fondue is not good and i know what i say because i am swiss and my job is make cheese.

      voley1995 thank you so much for viewing and commenting. Yes, I am sure a Swiss Fondue made in Switzerland would be fantastic, but mine is pretty friggin good considering what products we have to work with. I always try to keep my recipes using ingredients that can easily be found in the USA. It's what my family has been using since they arrived from Switzerland and is traditional to me and my family. Just sharing so others can enjoy it as well.

      Well, you do know that there is also Fondue au Comté for instance, which only uses Comté cheese, which in my opinion is far superior to any swiss cheese.

    Yummy recipe but please don’t use the word retard, it’s an old outdated term that’s very triggering for people with disabilities

    • @Lindysez123
      @Lindysez123  3 роки тому

      I made this in 2014 and I was being a total "retard" in the correct definition of the word "to delay progress development, or accomplishment. It would have been a lot easier to put the cheese directly into chute :-)
