Another great video! Love these history videos. Kind of surprised you didn't bring up the road runner crossover cartoon the wild chase where he raced speedy. It was a rare classic short with speedy and road runner teaming up.
Actually, had it not been for the Coyote and Sylvester’s input, Speedy would’ve won the race. Notice how in that cartoon, during the last few frames of Speedy and the Roadrunner, Speedy appears to be a little bit faster than the Roadrunner.
Crazy to think Speedy Gonzalez would be considered offensive, like someone's Tío years from now would be like, "No me gusta Taco Bell y el paisa ratón."
While those Daffy and Speedy cartoons were far from...well...good, Speedy manages to be in good form while Daffy becomes a victim of personality devolution. Though the weirdest thing about the Daffy/Speedy shorts to me was finding out that segment from the Bugs Bunny Howl-o-ween special was its own original cartoon. They just took the original Witch Hazel cartoon, traced over all of the witch's animation from the short, and just had Speedy turned into a witch with his voice coming out of her character for some reason. In the context of the special, it looked like cheap, reused footage that made that part of the special unintentionally hilarious. Anyway, I'm glad that they've been able to use Speedy in some degree recently. I really liked how the character was in The Looney Tunes Show with him being Bugs's confidant and a dedicated small business owner.
Welp. Guess we should send this correction to Leonard Maltin: "The idea for Speedy was hatched in a McKimson cartoon of 1953 called Cat Tails for Two, in which a dumb cat-and-dog team George and Lenny sneak onto a Mexican ship"
Again Great Nostalgia ! I even recall a version of Speedy of which he is in a red shirt and with no Sombrero. That's if I recall right a Benny and George Cartoon.

Another great video! Love these history videos. Kind of surprised you didn't bring up the road runner crossover cartoon the wild chase where he raced speedy. It was a rare classic short with speedy and road runner teaming up.
I can't wait to collect all the Lego Looney Tunes minifigures! It's a shame they excluded Elmer Fudd & Yosemite Sam because of their guns.

He was not given a significant role in space jam 2, he didn’t even play
My favorite Speedy's short is Speedy Gonzales
Speedy gonzales is my favorite looney toons character
*Speedy rocks!*
I want him to have a race with the Roadrunner.
Speedy and Roadrunner did actually race against each other in a Looney Tunes comic. I forgot which one it was though.
Spoiler alert!
They both tied.
@@financecat3306 I mean it wouldn't have been a winner anyway
He did
@@financecat3306 actually syvelster and wile coyote won
Actually, had it not been for the Coyote and Sylvester’s input, Speedy would’ve won the race. Notice how in that cartoon, during the last few frames of Speedy and the Roadrunner, Speedy appears to be a little bit faster than the Roadrunner.
Crazy to think Speedy Gonzalez would be considered offensive, like someone's Tío years from now would be like, "No me gusta Taco Bell y el paisa ratón."
Even though I’m not Mexican but I’m Hispanic, I never find him offensive, he one of my favorite looney tunes characters!
Fun fact in the movie dazed and confuse there’s a scene with a speedy plus on a characters bed
We could've waited one more year for the classic funni number. We were *this* close to greatness...
2:05 Correction: Benny is a cat.
Welp. Guess we should send this correction to Leonard Maltin:
"The idea for Speedy was hatched in a McKimson cartoon of 1953 called Cat Tails for Two, in which a dumb cat-and-dog team George and Lenny sneak onto a Mexican ship"
Again Great Nostalgia ! I even recall a version of Speedy of which he is in a red shirt and with no Sombrero. That's if I recall right a Benny and George Cartoon.
Who remembers when Peter Griffin made an American equivalent of Speedy Gonzales "Rapid Dave"?
😂😂
hey @@DaveLeeDownUnder did u know that Speedy Gonzalez is now a LEGO minifigure because LEGO made minifigures of Looney Tunes but i heard that Pepe Le Pew got tooken off of Looney Tunes it wasn't cool at all it was sad & terrible
Make the evolution of Pepe Le Pew and Penélope Pussycat 💘 please 💕

I can't wait for Gabriel Iglesias' portrayal of Speedy Gonzales in Space Jam A New Legacy!!!

Speedy is an amazing character never knew about him at a young age but then in a couple of years down the road he’s quite impressive so fast and zippy of this character like the Robin Hood of looney tunes
I remember hearing that Eugenio Derbez wanted to do the Speedy Gonzalez movie and have him voice the character, I would love to see him play that character, he’s one of my favorite Mexican comedians from my childhood and I always watched Derbez en cuando and XHDRBZ.
Nice video evolution.👍👍👍
I’ve never been interested in the character, but I’m interested in this video
Love the video
Best Looney Tunes character
My favourite looney tunes character
Ladies and gentlemen he did it !
Great videos very informative
I want to make a suggestion do tasimain devil and granny?
He’s such a good alternative to other looney tunes
I hated how cartoon network dropped the idea of airing speedy gonzales shorts. Granted they actually did air back in 2002, but i don't think it's something to get offended over in the first place.
My favorite Looney Tunes character is Slowpoke Rodriguez, because the idea of an implied weed-smoking gun-toting mouse who can hypnotize people with his eyes is amusing to me
Trying to cancel speedy is like trying to cancel captain America
I like Speedy wearing a Zorro outfit.
Most of people in my country (Mexico) love Speedy Gonzales, we also like Panchito from the 3 Caballeros... which reminds me...when we can have a Panchito evolution video?
Too bad we never got to see Panchito and Speedy in the same scene. We did get to see Jose and Speedy together in Roger Rabbit, though.
Top three looney tune characters I never heard of
Speedy Gonzales first appearance deserves to win the Academy Award in 1955.
In "Cat-Tails For Two" the characters, Lenny and George are *BOTH* cats! Study a freeze-frame and you'll see they are both cats!
Leonard Maltin would disagree with you.
@@DaveLeeDownUnder You only need to study the freeze-frame to see clearly that Lenny, the Big, dumb character and George, scrawny little character, are both indeed *CATS!* Leonard Maltin should go and see Specsavers and get himself new spectacles!
I was never really offended I just wanted to be fast like him.
Speedy's always been up there with Bugs and Foghorn as one of my favorite Tunes, I love the little guy 😁
Speedy: Aruiba!!! Aruiba!!! Sylvester: breavhing hevaly
“you don’t miss that person you just miss the feeling” - idk someone wrote it on a bathroom stall omg thanks for the likes
I want speedy Gonzales back!
Speedy is no insult I remember we used to use speedy in conversation but in Spanish we’d reference him
That’s right! the fastest mouse in all Mexico is back!
I’m Mexican and he’s my hero 😍💝
Always was one of my favorite
Great video 👍
Cool vid, can you do an Alvin and the Chipmunks evolution next?
You should do a history of bosko
Okay I know he hasn’t been around for actual decades but he’s an important piece of Looney Tunes history
I freaking love Speedy so much. He's been my favorite cartoon character for a very long time.
Do a Lola Bunny, Pepe Le Pew, FogHorn LegHorn, and More Looney Tunes Cartoon Evolution Please and I Hope Speedy Will Levon
Very hard to make a Lola one isn't it? She's only been around for 25 years and very limited material
I know this is a Sensitive subject. But can you please do a Cartoon Evolution on Mammy 2 Shoes from Tom & Jerry. Greatly Appreciated.
