I've had a couple of books from Lulu - gaming-related books, I hasten to add 😛 I got Against the Wind, and more recently Gravest Matters. No problems so far, but good to know there are sometimes issues!
Have you considered just purchasing a larger printer? I have one that can duplex 11x17 (A3?) and although you need a few other things, like a long stapler, it hasn't been as expensive as I'd feared overall.
My current printer is a fairly cheap one and is due to be replaced. I was looking at getting one of the ink tank versions to lower ink costs, but having an A3 one is enticing!! However, even with a better printer, there are some books that really deserve to be printed professionally.
Yeah thats bad! I get mine from the big retail company that you mentioned (won't write the name cos it will probably delete my message or something). I've had whitebox, cairn, basic fantasy .. I think they are print on demand ones correct me if I'm wrong....and rpg micro chapbooks ... my new favourites got an absolute stack of these....and all have been perfect. I don't know what sort of price you pay on the others but with said company I get them through prime and the books are really cheap. £3 -£5 odd. The good thing is if there were any problems they would deal pretty quick with it too. Now there's a game you might like... micro chapbook.... its a low number roll wins high number lose...so your unlucky rolls might just be your saving grace in this game! Anyways glad you got the right thing in the end. It's not acceptable that you should wait so long tho. Good way to lose customers for sure.
Many thanks for commenting and watching! I don't have Prime and have to limit my physical purchases due to my location, but I might have to give 'them' a try and see if their PoD is any better. Will also have a look at Micro Chapbook, thanks for the recommendation! 😁
I havent had any issues with either Drivethrurpg or Lulu I think I am blessed (I hope so as I order two big orders of Zozer Games products 🤣 Hostile setting and solo books plus several supplements 👌🏻 if you sre looking for a good sci-fi game in a harsh setting feel of Alien, Blade Runner, Event Horizon feel. Traveller like game. Good thing these companies will fix any orders they do.
Yeah, it all ended good. I have looked at Hostile and am definitely interested in it, but I have a very limited budget and there are just too many great games and miniatures calling me!!! 🤣 Maybe at some point I will be able to afford it (Mothership as well 😉)
