    Started following you around a few weeks ago. Appreciate the hard work editing to put out the vids everyday. Your fridge has cracked the sealed refrigerant pipes, most likely from the corrugations. The ammonia is the coolant the manufacturer uses in the 3 way fridge. My understanding its a sealed non serviceable item. The brake wires are the same colour at the wheels because it doesn't matter which way you wire them as they are magnets and will work either way. Its nice to have a great bunch of people to travel with. Yes the road is hard but the memories are priceless.

    Sorry to hear about the fridge, we've become so dependent on them. I wonder if they fair better in the "full offroad" vans or if corrugations are just corrugations no matter what. Did you know that you can cook damper/scones on a plain old hot plate or in a frying pan? Just make up your favourite damper/scone recipe roll the whole thing into a ball and flatten to about 1&1/2 inches and cook it on medium heat on both sides (until golden brown on both sides). Slice it like a cake and eat it straight off the hot plate, amazing when you haven't had anything like it for a long time on the road.

      Yea not too sure, we have 3 other semi off road vans with us and 1 off road and nothing happened to their fridges, maybe bad luck.. unsure 😄

    Gosh, electrical wiring damage the first time, then the coolant leaks the second day. So the fridge is F'd well and truly now! Is your van young enough to be under warranty still? Good time to check and claim. Lower the tyre pressure more I would say. If you are just driving at 20-30kph then lower the tyres to 20-25psi all round. mmm I'll have to put my thinking cap on to find a solution to this issue for when I go over there.
    Ellenbrae looked awesome. But the baths were a bit steeply priced I think. Would half hour at say $60 be good too? And could you shower off all that dirty water after? Or have to walk around covered in it all day! That's the bit that would cause me to put pause on the whole thing. No clean off shower, no deal! lol
    Sometimes the corrugations are smoother when going the other way because they were created by vehicles going the other direction. So when you drive on them they smooth down a bit as your tyres go over them. But of course, you are playing with fire because you are on the same side as the oncoming traffic.
    If you have paid for particular assets to be available at your camp site you are entitled to expect they will be available otherwise you should receive a partial re-embursment. Not go 'oh well its been a hard day on the road so we won't bother asking for power and water'. That's what they are gambling on. That you won't chuck a wobbly. But you are the ones doing the long dusty miles with no fridge, not them.
    Well a Great NOrthern almost washes the day away, but not quite!! Have a great evening folks. I sure hope tomorrow is better. 😊

    • @fivedownunder
      @fivedownunder  Рік тому

      Yea the fridge is well and truly gone now, will be looking into it all more when we are off The Gibb.
      We showered before doing the baths as we were so dirty 🤣 but yes half hour would still be lovely, but yes a very over priced activity, but not many baths found around Australia so we had to treat ourselves 😍
      A great northern at the end of the day fixes everything 😉😍
