Claus you look pretty comfortable behind the wheel of the prototype and the single seater. What is your backround??It's obvious you are above the average.
I'm thinking of doing this but my only race experience is in TKM extreme direct drive karting. So my question is would I be able to get the moneys worth of experience out of this? ie is there enough time to get fully to grips with each car before you can really push for lap time?
Just go :-). Except for gokarts, low-speed handling track and formula cars - you have an instructur with you. And they are great at pushing you while maintaining safety. And you will not drive formula cars until you have driven the near-similar performing lmp-type car on the same track with an instructor shortly before, so you will have build a foundation for driving it. You do not need any prerequisites before joining an event. When I was there, we were a group of 4 where I was the only one with any kind of experience. And we all had fun.
And yes, the instructors will actually push you for laptimes. At one time (in the Ariel Atom) it seemed that the instructures had a bit of competition in getting the Best laptimes from their drivers. And they will guide and coach you so much, that you *will* do what they say, when they say it.
+patkawasaki You get to drive quite a lot. I anticipated a lot of waiting - and was proved wrong. You may be driving for 1½ hour or more over the day. At the end of the day, you are not left wanting more - but you want to go for a complete day again. Go do it, its the best event of this kind I have attended anywhere.
Nice catch in the Ariel Atom!
I used to spend 5 years working as an instructor there , caterhams for the win :)

Great day!
how much driving do you get per car over the day. I'm thinking of treating myself (40th birthday), but it's alot of money!
