Hannan was depressed and couldn't find joy in life. At around 1 minute 30 seconds into the song you see the musicians setting up and Kaavish arriving to sing, while Hannan turns the other way and leaves. He didn't intend to stay around the area, but the lady offering him the flower made him sit down momentarily, and he ends up hearing Kaavish sing the optimistic verses. And it has an effect on Hannan as evident by him humming the same tune at the end.
Also worth noting is that the translation is just a simple approximation. The Urdu language is poetic in it's very nature, each word has so much depth. At no point does Hannan sing more than 3 words in a single phrase, and just 3 are enough to completely visualise his entire feelings and capture a whole lot of things. It requires entire sentences to translate into English. It's beautiful
Hey I love your comment. I even copied it and dropped in another comment section.
Nice interpretation
It is interesting that some reactions, they don't even catch the very end because they are in a hurry to press pause. Some notice and don't think much of it at all. You noticed it. That's good. Second it is interesting to see how each one interprets this scene differently. No wrong or right but it seems to me like Abdul Hannan turned away and went the introverted depressed way, away from musicians and Kaavish/Jaffer. But the older lady's smile and gesture did make him stay on the stairs and there he heard the positive healing verses and then in the end his mindset changed, and he started humming the positive verses. Happiness comes from within us not from someone else or something else. We decide we will be happy at any time. Our historical baggage that we are carrying can be overcome if we decide to do it. The English lyrics are conveying the point but they aren't exactly accurate. English does not have the words to convey the exact full meaning of the lyrics. One word seems to become a whole sentence in English.
I love how Carol initially presents she knows the interpretation of Abdul Hannan’s humming. She challenges Elie, curious to know his understanding. However, Elie surprises her with an equally profound interpretation of his own. Carol’s transition from questioning to attentive listening, and her eventual admiration for Elie’s interpretation, is a magical exchange indeed. My reaction to your reaction :) Stay blessed.
Hahahahaha exactly this 😂❤️❤️ Much love and blessings to you 🙏✨
Jaffar Zaidi (of semi classical band Kaavish). He appeared in Previous CS seasons both as featured artist and musician (composer & director). Here he has both written and composed the song also
HUGEEEE RESPECT AND LOVE FROM PAKISTAN. THE WAY YOU EXPLAINED THE MEANING OF SONG IS IMPRESSIVE ❤❤❤
❤️❤️🙏🙏
Aaqa, lagi bina, chaap tilak, tu jhoom are some of the songs I HIGHLY recommend. They're from the older seasons but they're masterpieces. You'll forget this latest season.
My interpretation of "O Yaara" which i shared on the Coke Studio UA-cam channel even before their BTS of O Yaara was released:
Read here:
" Warsa" (The shop in the centre titles "ورثہ" which means inheritance) is the focal point of the song. As to what Time and Life has made you inherit.
So Warsa is a junction from where two paths emerge. Giving you choice to deal with what has possessed you.
Abdul Hannan, the one with pain and hurt that life has inflicted upon him, pauses for a moment look at the brighter path, but then wanders into a darker lonely one with closed doors and windows.
In the same moment, Kavish, not alone, with his friends passes him and takes the very path that Hanan doesnt, which has colours, paintings, books, music and places with open doors and people.
Now Hanan is shown to passing legend Abida Parveen (Her picture) on the brick wall as to she is translating Hanan's feelings through her famous song 'Patharoon aaj meray sar par barsatay kyun ho.....'
But Hanan has not completely given up, there is some hope flickering and there are few fond memories, that seldom flashes in front of him like that lady and a flower.
This glimmer of hope ascends him to sit down for a while on that flight of stairs, with flower still in his hands. He waits and looks up seeking hope.
Here, Kavish takes over, who himself had been through pain and eventually found solace and truth inside him.
He has now surrounded himself with 'Warsa' of arts, books, colours, music, paintings. Everything is open. People too.
Kavish completes, look left towards Hanan, complete darkness for a second, and then Hanan humming the tunes of hope with veins of light running in front of him.
He has heard the Voice.
This song is about the choices you make in Life. We all go through hurt and pain.
It depends which path you take.
Choice is yours and so is your Voice. Listen!
Virsa!!!! There's nothing such as warsa. Thank you for the rest of the detailed interpretation.
👏🏻
So i was just waiting for ur review. Thank u so much ❤❤❤
This is more about self exploration and depression so in that case it’s different then 2AM (about society reflection)
Great reaction as always.
P.S. @Carol: As a man i want to tell you this, Elie has a lot in his heart that you should hear more often........its not easy for men to speak their heart no matter how close you are to them. So when you feel he wants to say something, listen to him, you might find many secrets and gems there as well, and it will make him grow as a person and stronger and strengthen your bond too.
I'm excited for you guys to get to the rest of Season 14. All of the songs are great (except Sajan Das Na, didnt really like that one) but Tu Jhoom is one of the most beautiful songs they've done and i think you'll love it. Both the sound and the lyrics are wonderful. (If you do check it out, they have a bit of a weird translation for Tu Jhoom in the subtitles; the literal translation of tu jhoom means "just sway, sway, sway" and the figurative idea is basically "dance like nobody's watching.")
You two are no less magical! Love listening to your interpretations❤
Greetings from Pakistan. Fantastic reactions to a lovely song. The lead singer of Kaavish is Jaafar Zaidi. He is son of a legendary female singer (late) Nayyara Noor. Kaavish has featured in various coke studio seasons , the most popular one was "Faasle" with Quratulain Baloch from Coke studio season 10. Kaavish also released their latest song titled "Teray Naam". Please do react to these two songs at your convenience. I am totally hooked to this channel. Best wishes for the channel. With warm regards
Apart from the beautiful voices the scenario is simillar to 2am and its not, like its more of an internal battle just feeling it like how depressed and tired the guy (abdul hannan) is from his internal battles even when he sings the line, saans lena saza (that he suffocates so much he cant even breath) and hes even sining like he can’t breathe, now I know coke studio uses alot of modern intruments and electrical beats but in this song its more like how subtle calm and connecting with soul songs we pakistanis use to listen in 2000s from bands like aaroh , kavish , fuzon etc, and kaavish dude I can’t even begin if you understand the words how everyone can relate to it like its not that all your worries will end , its like you can face them, dont be tired you are more thn you think you are, kaavishs voice hit me harder thn anything !
❤ from Pakistan 🇵🇰
I was waiting for your review❤❤❤
I absolutely love your reactions. Please tell us about yourselves and how is it that Carol understands Pakistani languages and culture so well, I for one am intrigued. SUBBED
Hey and welcome! 😄 Carol here. I actually used to watch a lot of Bollywood movies and listen to the songs. That's why I know many Hindi words and since they're similar to Urdu and I can read Arabic letters, I can sometimes understand them. Plus, Coke Studio is really helping me know more about beautiful Pakistan and its wonderful people. That's the aim of the channel after all 😁 But overall, I absolutely love learning and speaking foreign languages! ❤️
Thank you for your prompt reply. May you grow in your knowledge and be surrounded with Love.
Guys you’d love some older coke studio tracks like neer bharan, charkha nolakha, sayonee, paar channa de, ishq di booti. Amazing lyrics and music!!
Amazing Coke Studio Pakistan ❤
I am impress for both of you because you know all the sence of music what the singer described its a amazazing
Great Reaction.. keep growing
you guys should react to faasle by kaavish and quratulain baloch , also tu jhoom , these were the songs which revealed everything revolving in our heart and mind which we intentionally hide in our smile .
Guys you definitely need to react on Mehram, a masterpiece of melancholy.
Lovely song 🎵❤️
I cannot really believe that you guys are not from Pakistan...😇
You guys are very cool, love your reactions!
Eli, you in fact gave me another interpretation of the song. It could all be in Hannan's mind and he is so lost and hopeless but at the same time even a simple act of kindness and few encouraging words could have him back to life. That may have been his wish and Kaavish may have been his inner voice, his inner self, a hope. He was in despair but at the same time he still had hope. hmmm, so many angles to this beautiful but very short song. Hannan's part could have been extended in my opinion. Keep these reactions coming please, you always bring a different perspective, this is why diversity is just awesome!
Nice Reaction as Always ❤
you guys are genuine and cute
loved the reaction and i see you like the actual poetry so may i suggest you listen to tu jhoom from season 14. i have a feeling you will enjoy it a lot and i will love to see your reaction to that song.
Love your reactions. Both of you are gorgeous. Keep it up.
Thank you ❤️😄🙏
This song is just the tip....check FAASLE in coke studio season10...you will know what kaavish is capble of
Music and love don't have any language, but understanding comes to every human being
Love from pakistan
In the lyrics they never said "things will become okay", because there are ups and downs in life always. But they said YOU will understand and find yourself. Its about finding yourself as a person, finding confidence in yourself. There will always be troubles in life.
Wonderful review team👍✌️💯
"There are infinite secrets in you"...... Meaning If you are thinking that the things that are bothering and depressing you are the only things that encompasses your existence, then look again, there are infinite dimensions within yourself. This is part of the philosophy of "Khudi", which tells that the whole universe exists within yourself, It is only you who may opt to go in the certain direction, you can either lead yourself to a disaster or you can reach those territories where one can not imagine a human can even think about reaching to. And when you do reach that point then all your pain and miseries will seem so trivial and meaningless that you will laugh on them. And you will start seeing the things beyond a normal mind can even think of.
So beautiful song
7:39 you have a diffetent but also a fitting interpretation of the song
That was a GREAT catch for watching it first time ( the time on clocks being diff) ... I did NOT expect it haha
The last scene about Abdul Hannan, is starts hoping again.
it's a fact of life.
There are many people who are depressed all over the world, they are alone and do not ask for help, they remain silent and after a while they take extreme steps in their life because no one is willing to help them in crisis in their life.
Guys imagine them reacting on Bol Ho, the twist in the middle will shock them to the core! I hope you guys react to it, there's a twist in the song no one can ever guess! It'll give goosebumps
React to O Yaara Magical journey. That's awesome
Great Nice Reaction
this is like a bollywood indian song
Now you enjoy the song and you become a strong lady
The youunger guy is lost in his thoughts as most of us are when we are young.
The older guy who has gone through all those things in his life is telling him that dont lose hope and search for the answers within yourself..keep hanging in there..
The last humming part shows that he is humming the line of the older guy which means he has understood it and he its giving him hope

Great reaction, guys. You really should react on the BTS of the songs. Believe me, they're just as good as the songs.
Second verse when he said "Raakh saaray safay per likh raha hon" means that "I am writing this with the ash (only thing left from my burned life) on these pages" has so much meaning that is lost in translation

Guys a new song of Atif Aslam just came out. It’s an OST for a new TV drama series called Gentleman. Please react to it, I don’t think you’ve ever reacted to any Pakistani OSTs, they’re excellent quality and very popular all over the subcontinent.
The song is called Tumhari Chup: ua-cam.com/video/YDn1Qi5hwvk/v-deo.htmlsi=BFBHbs9WbOYotQ8W
