So I'm personally a fan of this song, but what I'm seeing is people who liked the original don't like this as much, but people who are just now finding this song really like it because it's all they have to base it off of. It's kinda weird, because now that I've heard this one first, I prefer this over the original. Interesting how peoples minds work
mind works in patterns. It finds an original pattern and the rest similar patterns - like that remix - is not acceptable or stranger for it :) I prefer this version because it had been listen first :)

People are saying this is bad by Seven Lions standards? I don't see it, he's defeinitely begging at some future bass sound and trap influences which emphasize less the complex bass and more mid and high range interestingess, and there's plenty of glitchy intricacy throughout on the ambience and stuff. I think this is basically the Jeff we know.
Also on second listen, the grooves and rhythms Jeff goes for here are far more syncopated and complex than previous productions, and the focus on drums and drum fills and stuff is just so tasteful. This is Seven Lions at his most tasteful in production overall, subtle, contemplating and restrained releasing the classic wall of sound supersaw driven sound we love and know him for but this time with a less harsh bass tone than the characteristic growl of say Days to Come, and more voices and harmonies, that chord progression is so gorgeous and slightly dissonant towards the end, which actually reminds me of the original Velvetine - The Great Divide.
Anthony-James Rousseau yeah I agree. I think it's melodic dubstep, but it's really incredible melodic dubstep.
I don't like a lot of his new stuff, but this is definitely some of his best work

There's something so reminiscent from the synth progression starting from 1:45. It's like so familiar yet so futuristic. Also makes me think of the works of Akira Toriyama, if you don't know who he is, please google him. Yosh!

I've been a seven lions fan a little over 6 years now and I know this is different from a lot of his early work. Do I hate it? Nah. Do I love it? Not as much but I support him to the max
