Dr Shim, thank you so much for your video. Your mannerism is so calming, your clarity of words and images have reassured me, greatly. I'm due to have this surgery in the next month here in the UK. Again, I appreciate your personable approach...

Every time I read something about a new technique it's about the lumbar spine.
Why is there never anything to fix the cervical spine? Is that just because of the smaller size? Higher risk?

@@gracev7925 Hello I just got home , had it yesterday was an absolute success !! I had very weak painful sharp pains in both legs and unable to walk , I went a walk today , didn't need assistance and didn't stop once , really is a miracle I felt great straight away although my back is pretty painful but no worse than my pre op pain x

Won't removing the ligament severely destabilize the spine or willl the device do that job well enough?

How many levels are allowed with Coflex? My current spine doctor wants to do a three level fusion, which I am not going to do unless I absolutely have to.

I have a 2 level Prestige Artificial Disc Replacement C4-5/C5-6 (WHICH HAS BEEN PHENOMENAL!), & am looking for a solution for stabilization @ L5/S1 as I have hEDS on top of degenerative discs (@38 y/o... & It's painfully exhausting 😩😂). But, this just looks a bit scary in that the support is dedicated solely to the area of the spinus process. What happens when multiple discs become severely worn & the spine loses curve @ 5%, 20%, or greater? I'd be leaning the opposite way, straining each device. 😮😮 😳 😮😮😳 Either way, medical technology is truly amazing! 🎉

looks good for facet to facet application......how does it help with facet to sacrum appllication at L5/S1 joint?

Depends on your anatomy. Some patients can accommodate the coflex procedure, while others, because of their L5-S1 configuration cannot.

Where I came back told Mama was paying him and I can barely walk down the street and he said he go to therapy I'm like I want to MRI before I go to therapy to make sure everything's all right but he only did an x-ray you can't really see that or see if it's causing any damage to the bone degenerate degenerous degenerating whatever lol sorry I'm just tired of not having a lie from all this pain and I've had three back surgeries and never had any pain until now so let me know I would appreciate the response and I'm in Massachusetts so if you know of anybody I can go to I appreciate it cuz I'm going to get somebody else to help and fix what he did or undo it or taking MRI at least I'm going over therapist and getting an MRI but it's going to take me three visits
