Have recently had one on test for a couple of days. I was greatly disappointed with the MG4, as it was cheap & nasty. However, whilst wanting to find fault..... I have to say the MG5 is a really well finished car. Remove the MG badge and it could be any quality brand. For the money, it is a great value family car with a great warranty. I would look for good leasing deals, rather than buying one. Compared to other £30k EV's this is spacious. Software was good very much unlike any VAG car. Power was totally reasonable and more than the numbers would suggest. For MG I think the 5 is the best option.
@@stogieman1270 Exterior fit & finish... Close up detail of the black plastics & how they fit the bodywork. Interior dashboard on the MG4 is plastic an weak looking... Like stuck on afterthoughts. MG5 dash is more fitted & integrated. MG4 seats are soft & offer little support if you are 6ft plus. MG5 seats are firm and comfortable. Rear light cluster on MG4 looks cheap, like it was made of recycled plastic.
@@boswellwhanau That may well be a bonus I didn't consider... For me it was just a personal purchase. I had placed a deposit on the MG4 in September but withdrew once I saw the car. Regardless of range or build as an EV only... I didn't want to pay over £30k for the special edition orange long range when the car looked like it was thrown together.... Like an MG3. Company car tax is a whole another area from "build quality".
@@mikadavies660 I really liked the MG4 when we test drove it BUUUUUT the only reason we didnt go with it was because it didnt have roof bars...and for what we do we really needed roof bars. Also the MG5 just seemed a lot more practical than the MG4.
In another set of video comments to the earlier car it was stated that if you remove the rear seat cushion(s) then the rear back rests will fold flat. If your need is occasional to say move a piece of furniture then that could work. However it’s certainly not ideal.

Also for company car drivers as the car us under £40k it won’t attract additional tax in 2025.

The price increase is probably due to the government grants not being available.

Not having fold-flat rear seats, any pretence of it being an estate or shooting break is lost on me.
