[talking]
Yo yo, you know what we need to do, man, we need to get a whole CD. You know what I'm sayin'? Get a collection of all the music and everything we've ever done man.
[woman singing]
Bringing back sweet memories (3x)
Life, living in Flatbush and going to house parties
Red lights, bumping, life is what you make it, then sorry
In my lifetime, ain't too many things better
than watching your first son put his sentences together
Yo, it kinda make me think of way back when
I was the portrait of the artist as a young man
All them teenage dreams of rapping
Writing rhymes on napkins
Was really visualization
Making this here actually happen
It's like something comin through me
That truly just consume me
Speaking through the voices of the spirits speaking to me
I think back in the day, I absorbed everything like a sponge
Took a plunge into my past to share with my son
Bringing back sweet memories (3x)
Like thoughts out the back of your mind
Going back in some time
Like when you used to cut and had to go to the back of the line
Look back and you find
Tracks that make you relax and recline
Now cats rap about packing a nine
When they lacking divine
Inspiration
Running out of topics in conversation
While I drop it in the pocket cause rock is my occupation
I do it remarkably, spark up a leaf
And possibly
You could follow me
Tap into your chi
Utilize your spiritual faculty accurately
Use your memory to help you see clearly, then get back to me
Actually, nothing's new under the sun
So when life be stressing me
My remedy is 'bringing back sweet memories'
Like the faces that are woven in the fabric of my consciousness
From cities where making 21's a big accomplishment
Like when my people understood their prominence
And my past life visions of the continent
Like the first time I saw KRS live, rockin' it
Or heard Resurrection by Common Sense
Dominant in my psyche
I chose my direction like Spike Lee
To speak my life through mics, and I never take it lightly
It might be something you did to bring you down when you were high
Yo that karma's a bitch, you steady asking God why
Like when my parents first split up
Yo, I was illin'
Seems like some years they was together for the sake of the children
And I love them for that
I don't know if they saw that
So I'ma say it, and convey it when the world play it (3x)
Bringing back sweet memories (3x)
Like black is beautiful, names from the seventies
Let me tap into your energy
Fields of dreams become my property
When I reach my destiny like a prophecy
Especially when I 'm 'bringing back sweet memories'
I dive deep into my mind, see I got a treasury
That float through my head like a sweet melody
What you telling me?
Reflection is a collection of memories
Definitely, this is how hiphop is meant to be
Eventually, I knew I'd run into Hi-Teknology
It was only a matter of time like centuries
Check the recipe or technique to how it sound so sweet
I freak with word power, my man speak with beats
If I could make it in New York, I figured anywhere I'd make it
Came to Cincinnati linked with Mood, and we did Sacred
Hi-Tek beats became my favorite
Hussle on the Side was the cut
We started puttin songs together like 'What!'
Travelled the world, came back to the crib
And hit the motherland yet
This year we put in work and got some other plans
Bet, that's where I'll take the fam
when the Reflection joint is done
By the time you hear this, I'll be basking in African sun
Like Wow!
We made it
We here
These new age producers can't make beats like these. This beat in particular transcends the listener to another level. The super low bass line. Mellow jazzy feel. Super tangible beat. Classic!
Do you know some similair beats?
🗣💯💯💯💯💯
I appreciate HI Teks beats and I also appreciate some of the current producers. I refuse to turn into get off my lawn guy. There are many dope producers today. If this is your vibe you shouldn’t have a problem listening to Hit boy’s productions.
There are plenty of new age producers who can make beats like this, just say you don't know where to find good music and move on lmao
Back then they used analog gear to make songs, these days not many hip hop producers do unfortunately so you can't get that same warmth in tracks. Wish they had the same mentality that a lot of the new electronica producers do knowing that this stuff can make your tracks sound like quality
This beat is one of the smoothest and mellowest musical backdrops I've ever heard. First time I heard it. I played like 10 times straight. That nice...
One of the greatest beats of all time.
This is what u find me bumping in the afterlife homie
Some say it’s a zone but it feels like a trance,
How can you feel alone when there are millions of stars casting you a glance,
They say it's never true romance if it's based around finance,
Remember when hip hop was boom boxes and a break dance,
Pull a hoody on and pop my headphones in,
This music is so internal, I feel it resonate under my skin,
both albums are solid all around, but i gotta go with train of thought. something about it as a whole, you know?
the beats are so organic. i can lay in my bed at night, pop the cd in my cd player and let the whole album play with my eyes closed in the dark, and it'll put me in another place.
good like black is beautiful names for the seventies let me tap into your energy
These beats were at another level!
timeless
Omg. Timeless. I remember smoking to this 20 years ago. Bringing back sweet memories.
When that bass drops!
Song is really really good for meditation
Love that Song & Instrumental Forever! It sets memories free indeed.
Bringing Back Sweet Memories....
r.ip. domo, miss you.
CLASSIC
Bringin back sweet memories 😍
As the rhythm kicks in,
I use the force to pick up my pen,
summon my psychic powers,
to transcribe my words over and again
started writing lyrics to this beat a few years ago(Therapeutic)💯💯🙏🙏🙌🙌🙌🙌
This beat is next level still in 2022 who agrees? Used this in our BMX montage videos a lot back in the day gives me that empty abandoned urban area feel if you know what I mean.
this is Bless
This shit always been dope, to bad it doesn't have that "Bring it back" in the background.
" I was puffing L's on the tracks of the train,
On my way to school freshman year, all in the rain. Never showin my fear,
Letting Mary cauterize and burn inside my lungs
And then releasing the pain.
And then I started sipping in a toxic refrain.
You couldn't down a fifth of all the shit in my brain.
Traumatic memories and expression from younger age,
The reason that you'll find my mind perpetually dazed and eyes glazed.
I hear my momma listening to Stevie.
Wonder where we end up at end of the month but
I know I'll always have some music and a high to find.
Shit, when I think about it, man I'll be fine.
We just gotta remember what we been through. Everything we buried in our mental.
The hurt I know can seem so detrimental.
But pain is really de la soul,
it can be helpful. "
Pure Fire
FACTS talib did a Fucking awsome job
Im next on this fire ill as smooth beat
Yo why should I take my place when their ain't even a place for me
Ain't no cakes for free
Its not your birthday, could give a fuck what he or her say
Hell my birthplace, per se
Am I talking about you, how you fuck yo stance
I'm in he hood getting bucks for grams
Yo hood where I win in the main kingpin
Yo ho's I be pinping you sinking thinking
In survival mode
Great job recreating this beat, very hard to engineer. I enjoy listening to it very much. Thank you so much!

i raised my self on..KRS-ONe and Run-DMC,
Common, Rakeim, Talib Kweli,
A tribe Called Quest, Erykaih Badu, and The Fugees,

Raised on an island, a few miles from city, dont listen to diddy, not amazed by the tv, working on my negativity, washing myself pure , cleansing my soul before apocalyspe comes and burns all these demon emcees, killing the game and selling their soul to get paid , luckily, im not like the most people, im setting a goal , to live the rest of my life peaceful
dope
Sick Lyrics yo... lyrics and the beat are synergistic with each other. big up. Peace
Hey I'm a soon to be rapper making my first song can I use your beats? I will credit everything about your beats.
This is one of my favorite hip hop songs of all time.
It's hard to evaluate which album is better: Train of Thought, or Blackstar (as the two are often compared). Personally, this song helps sets TOT over the top.
quality shit just like deep house i.e kerri chandler touches the soul like no other !!

Is it a Buddhist enlightenment or America's will to win?
Nah not in this genesis, but its something better
between me and her, is more than glamor and glitz
fame and riches, transcending the cheddar
So irrational at times but the beauty that it provides gives somewhat of a comfort to mind.
The sparkled look in her eyes, when she's happy. i'm happy
when shes sad, I cry on the inside, appearing sad but sappy
now i can see why, we die
its all rotation, my placee inn
this world, was a whurl
when i started, now i remeber
the good dayz, 97, mind on Heaven
punk shorty from New York
who the hell are you to talk
steady rideenn, Long Island
Lies your tellin me, on the LIE
headen home, all live
when i arive, slide in
pardon, my lateness
not rude, im brewed, the news is
its all cool, i gotta keep it real
i act ah fool.
