He's desperate at this point. There is an old Russian saying that the thing to try if you are ever in real trouble, is to (loosely translated), "Do a barrel roll".
Everybody roasts this but it actually is way more accurate than the HBO fiction. Actors speak the right language, actually look like the people they portray anf it has been filmed at the real place too
The reactor debris should have jumped back into the building and re-assembled itself into a functional reactor, and then apologized for exploding when it should have known better.
The HBO show is so similar. the story of the couple and everything. I get it its the a real story so its gotta look same. But the last scene with the plant visible from the window and the music as well
Dyatlov was apparently portrayed wrong in a lot of ways. He was very strict and not likeable in some cases, but remained very professional. In fact, he was one of the first people to say “we need to get out of here” when reactor 4 exploded. There was doubt initially, but it changed fast.
Too bad it's totally wrong. According to Stolyarchuk and Dyatlov, the atmosphere in the control room was not only perfectly calm up until the explosion itself, but there were no indicators whatsoever that anything was out of the ordinary. AZ-5 was not pressed because of a power surge (there was no sudden rise in power before AZ-5 was pressed), but as a planned procedure because the reactor was to be shut down after the turbine test for maintenance.
Fun fact: on Google Maps there are two strange locations atomic schop (yes how it’s spelt on GM) and chernobil (again weird I know) it’s just on a road not even near the plant what’s stranger is that on street view that location inside those woods you can't see Jack so is a glitch or just a location?
Bad enough the reactor is thinking stop don't hurt me! Help! The fission couldn't be stopped 1st explosion reactor screams in pain and is bleeding but dies after the 2nd explosion rips her head off in an flowering burst of blood and intrails the reactors blood also covered the containment walls the reactors decomposing remains are still in the containment even some of the reactors bones can be seen where the burns are and torn skin
Once dyatlov ordered the power to be increased again and akimov obayed and carried it out there was no stopping the ticking timebomb the chance to stop the terrible disaster was that moment when the reactors power was low akimov knew that it was risky powering the reactor back up he and the others should have stood their ground against dyatlov and refused to power the reactor back up regardless of the threats to their careers by dyatlov
