It’s interesting seeing the variation in struggles from different players. I’ve been playing a similar length of time to you, I started playing with 21g darts and within a week or so decided they were far too light, I now play with (after much switching) the 24g Littler Gen 1 pixels, I think the strongest part of my throw is the wrist-flick follow through, however I think I’m very inconsistent in terms of the actual tightness of my fingers around the dart upon release, I find myself having to remind myself to lose all arm tension quite frequently.. as always really enjoyed the video. Looking forward to seeing what you think of the new darts, I think a heavier dart will help you a lot.
Yeah my wrist flick is pretty non existent, trying to work on that. Yeah I am interested to see how I get on, I think deep down I found my previous darts which were similar but 1g heavier just as good if not better. What are the pixels like? I have only heard good things.
@@SamsonDoesDarts180 they’re incredibly grippy darts the pixels.. which I’ve gotten used to over time and now actually enjoy the shape of them, they fly beautifully, would only recommend them to someone who likes a “straight-barrel” shape as they don’t change width at all. Ive found out after buying 18 sets of darts since January that it really does make a difference, it can be very expensive finding out which one suits though How do the Nastris fly for you in the air? you can see if a dart doesnt suit by the way it travels to the board and if they sometimes land at a weird angle I started with 26g as from the research i done it seemed like most begginers start heavy as the darts fly straighter but then go down. Ive gone from 26 to 21

Good darts there! (At least until getting to 12 lol ;) ) I started with 21/22g darts like you and have been working my way heavier. I definitely felt more comfortable around 25g so hopefully you'll like the new darts.
heavier dart = reaches board quicker :: lighter dart + specific types of setups = similar response to that of switching to heavier dart but retains the same barrel [either retaining lighter weight or by adding an extra 1 or 2 gram via setup] (ok, applicable to those who really like the feel and grip of their current dart... if you're not keen on the dart you're throwing already, then get some that you're very comfortable with). Not saying anyone's "right" or "wrong"... each to their own and only be trialling different things can they know whether it works for them or not. I was making a general comment about what happens when switching to heavier barrels and that the same or very similar reaction/outcome could be achieved by switching the setup rather the actual dart barrels, meaning learning to throw with those new barrels and then trialling set-ups anyway to fine-tune things.
Interesting that, about tweaking the setup of a lighter dart can achieve a similar effect while maintaining the feel and grip that one is used to.
