He didn't need to add anything to his music, this album changed the course of all music in the 90's. This album is absolutely perfect.
changed it for the worse... imho.
@@andytraiger4079 Not really, if Nirvana never blew up. The alternative, and punk scene of the 2000s probobly would have never came and Rock N Roll probobly would have died. Granted Rock probobly “Died” from the neon Emo kids of the 2000s but Nirvana put Rock on life support imo.
@@mivvy3182 rock and roll will never die. punk and "alternative rock" are by and large crap in my opinion. They are based on the idea that musicianship and musical talent are bad things and that what people want is to hear music written by people and performed by people lacking talent. Through those horrid years of the 1990s and 2000s, rock went into hibernation. There's still good rock music being made through this hole period; it's just that it seldom gets any attention on radio.
@@mt77012 I'll stick with my definition unless you show me otherwise. Show me a punk band with as much musical and song writing talent as Pink Floyd, Rush, Led Zeppelin and so on and I will change my definition of what punk is. From what I have observed it's made by people that have lots of angst; but little talent.
@@mivvy3182 not to mention influenced pop and hip hop artists as well
Kurt Cobain has officially been dead as long as he was alive, but the impact he left behind will live on for generations.
its curious, when an artist dies most of the time their music starts dying too, but nirvana not, even tho kurt left this world 27 years ago his music is still alive and a part of him is alive too
There really was an after and before since Nirvana were making music
@@enriquepastor3626 exactly, i think nirvana literally changed the world and all grunge bands did, but after kurt died nothing wasnt the same anymore, Layne died, alice in chains stopped for a long time, soundgarden stopped being a band, and pearl jam was still very active until nowadays but pearl jam isnt the same as in the beginnings of the 90's at all tho
vey well said i agree
Kurt Cobain will go down as big as BEATHOVEN in history
Thanks for appreciating Nirvana as much as the rest of us
Had a months long project over the top of a bar, I swear each guest walks in and jukes this followed by crank it UP or no tip! Their speakers were bolted to the ceiling, no iso's...options, homicide or suicide....better for on-site free coffee and redbull... boot camp lunch until we pushed till passing inspections. I hate this frigging song...not sorry, no promises for my damaged self control...clear shot to PTSD, DONTCHA KNOW?!?!...They're coming to take me away, haha
@@davidbaker6912?
@@mn-mq6ml bro idek if david baker himself knows what the fuck he was talking about lmao
@@Day_Dot was that english!? hahaha it is almost art.
You need to either hear “Heart-Shaped Box,” or “In Bloom” next. They are both BANGERS!
Lithium is pretty good as well
@@hehehe-sf7ot I would’ve recommended that but he already reacted to it
@@thatmusicdude4495 oops
oh man, heart shaped box is such a good song
Or Polly
Still gives me chills, when I hear him Sing 'I swear I dont have a gun'.
If he didn't have a gun, he wouldn't have shot himself...
❤️💔
@@andytraiger4079 Fucking Courtney shot him he was writing that message for his family because he was going to kill himself but Courtney shot him first.
@@bainedolan2680 god dammit let the man Rest In fucking Peace, if Courtney shot him Courtney shot him, we don’t have enough evidence, I’m pretty sure he wouldn’t have wanted everyone to go after his wife
Ironic isn't it?
All Apologies is another Nirvana classic you’ve got to check out!
Nirvana's my favorite band, and literally none of their songs are bad (except Beans), but that one is lower on my ranking list of I have to say. It's not bad at all, just not as good as others. Still should be checked out, though for sure.
Forget that song. So many better ones
I was going to say the same. He’ll love it.
Nirvana was such an influential rock group as they were one of early grunge rock bands that turned mainstream and really changed rock from hair band era to grunge.....80s hair band was about partying, having fun and girls where grunge brought a different sound along with a lot of more serious lyrics about real life ...
They actually created grunge
@@christiancastro7516 they didn't "create" grunge, but they were definitely the ones who popularized it and made it into a real genre
Plot twist- he’s been a rock fan this whole time
I know this is two years old but it’s cool to see you enjoyed it. The impact that Nirvana had can’t be overstated, they literally changed the music industry across the entire English-speaking world. It’s like today when anything crazy happens, the entire internet freaks out about it all at once. That’s what Nirvana caused even before people were really on the internet.
haha this guy's reactions are funny. so cool to see that after 30 years Nirvana still sounds great and fresh. peace dude
i like when fans of other music take the time to appreciate other genres
Nirvana marked the boundary between the 80s and the 90s for music; they led to other grunge and alternative bands to take over and hairbands to fade from public consciousness. Music and youth culture were so different after that, like Kurt hand flip the switch to end one era and start the next.
When I was 12 (in 1992) my dad gave me this cd and told me he had won a song contest and the band had put my name in a song.
My name is Emilyna and I always sing it like it’s my song. Nirvana will always have the most tender place in my heart. This was the band that meant to the most to me and spoke the most to me as a teen and as a person. These musicians are / were true artists which is timeless in a way. Love seeing you jam to these like I did when I first heard them!
With both Cobain and Staley(Alice in chains) you can hear their emotion conveyed to the fullest in their voices.
Yes... Cobain, Staley AND.... Chris Cornell and Eddie Vedder. ALL 4 conveyed emotion with their voices, to the fullest! That's why they are considered the "Greats" of Grunge.... Eddie Vedder and the boys of Pearl Jam are all that is left of the Grunge bands. Peace...
Beautiful comment right there man
I know what you mean about feeling young. He taps into the angst of late teens early 20's so perfectly. But in a really refined talented complex way. It ages well it isn't immature. It's so good.
You also need to hear the Unplugged version as well!!!
Man you shlould react to Nirvana-In Bloom🔝🔝
Agreed
As always, Nirvana is such an amazing band and Kurt Cobain is one of the best singers of the 90's. Sadly there's no more Nirvana but I believe Dave Grohl kept its spirit alive with the Foo Fighters, that's why I recommend you to listen to them, like some of their earlier songs such as Learning to Fly and Skin and Bones, and specially The pretender.
I love the Foo Fighters but I wouldn't say they sound particularly similar to Nirvana. Both great bands in their own ways. The one song I can think of that really reminds me of Nirvana is "I'll Stick Around" from their first album
I love 'Everlong' & 'My Hero' in particular.
The foo fighters have some crazy good music
@@goldmantis5850 Other than their first album, I could never really get into Foo Fighters.
Heart shaped box next!!! You will love it I promise
Kurt Cobain defines melancholy more than anyone in Rock. It's in every Nirvana song.
I would say Alice in Chains is right up there with Nirvana in the melancholy department. And both probably because of the hopelessness of drug addiction. And apparently they breed depression in Seattle...
@@Looneyintheboonies yassss
I get that melancholy feel with Smashing Pumpkins too
Joy division
Can't wait until you get into other grunge bands of the 90s like Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Soundgarden, The Melvins, etc
Stone Temple Pilots
I vote Pearl Jam MTV unplugged
Alive - Pearl Jam
@@ELLIOT1311 I say the album ten unplugged
Alice in chains definitely should be next
Watching you experience all these great songs I grew up listening too is really awesome. Glad you’re enjoying it.
You should definitely check out ‘Drain You’ next, from the same album!
I always suggest Drain You, nobody ever does it
I love Drain You
It was Kurt's personal favs too!
React to Scorpions: Rock you like a hirricane, big city nights, the zoo, still loving you
Iron maiden: Wasted years, hallowed be thy name, number of the beast, aces high
Def leppard: Photograph, Bringin on the heartbreak, Animal ,Foolin
Motley crue: Looks that kill ,Live wire
and Twisted Sister, Motorhead, Deep Purple, SOAD, Rhino Bucket, UFO, Butthole Surfers, Alcatrazz, Whitesnake, QOTSA... the guy has a lot to discover.
check out some poison also
nothin but a good time
cry tough
talk dirty
You spotted the essence of this song nowadays: Feels like Highschool again, young inside. Nirvana was one of my fav band when I was a teenager. Nice channel btw :D
The drummer is the lead singer of Foo Fighters
You need to watch Foo Fighters ( Learn to Fly
Lithium is an awesome track, also, check out the drummers band that formed after the lead Nirvana singer Curt died. FOO FIGHTERS, same kind of vibe, amazing band 👍
its really tight that you checking out nirvana! its one my favorite bands
This was two yrs ago but I just came across this because I love Nirvana from my teen years. Fantastic commentary on how his music makes you feel youthful.
WOOT! Love Nirvana.
Do " LOUNGE ACT "!!! I have been into NIRVANA since 1989, LOUNGE ACT is by far my favorite song. It has a real bassy groove.
The music sounds life it could be released today because it inspired today's music.
You are right about the music making you feel young on the inside . I'm 62 and love Nirvana ,
You are to dig cute!! Love seeing you get hyped and jamming out to all these classics!
Something that came out along this time frame that you should check out is "Hunger Strike" by Temple of the Dog.
The Man Who Sold The World (Live And Loud, Seattle / 1993) has great guitar riffs and lyrics.
I think you've never heard U2 songs before. Listen to Pride (in the name of love), Sunday bloody Sunday, With or Without you, I still haven't found what I am looking for, One. Trust me bro, they are not bangers, but their songs will touch your soul.
The first time I heard Sunday Bloody Sunday I loved it
@@qnniikq Yeah, every U2 songs are like that. Listen to others as well if you haven't
Shout out to Carl for requesting more Nirvana!! "Heart Shaped Box: and "All Apologies" are 2 more of Nirvana's huge hits.... Also, for more grunge/Alternative Rock.....
PEARL JAM: "Alive" or "Jeremy" UNCENSORED Official video (based in part on a true story),
SOUNDGARDEN: "Black Hole Sun" or "Outshined",
AUDIOSLAVE: "Like A Stone" or "Show Me How To Live",
ALICE IN CHAINS: "Rooster" OFFICIAL video (it puts the story of the song into context).
Your description....soooo good!!!
Njoyed so much!
Territorial Pissings is one of my favs by Nirvana....
You may check it.
Nirvana was huge in the early 90s. Listen to the Foo Fighters. Their lead Singer was the drummer for Nirvana but is lead singer and founder of Foo Fighters. A great group in itself.
u should react to metallica songs like master of puppets, enter sandman, nothing else matters
Basic but still it would be good to see
any metallica would be nice personally I would say fade to black
@@nathancaveney3422 I think he has already done fade to black actually
One of my fav songs off of this album is "Breed". It's more simple but there's something hypnotic and cathartic about it.
Wow you're the first other person I've seen who also thinks Breed is the best song from Nevermind, you have good taste!
To me that song represents Kurt's manic depression and just him not giving a fuck about anything other than to just be left alone. I love Dave and Krist's parts too, they really add to the craziness of the song. And Breed also has possibly the best lyric of any song I've ever heard: "We can plant a house, we can build a tree" 😂
@@goldmantis5850 I love it too. I feel like it shows a frustration between the expectations of your 20's and your actual feelings about them. about real life. about american life specifically. Wrestling with frustration but also apathy. I listen to it over and over again. It just does something to me! All of their songs do but that one really winds me up I love it so much!! I also love that line!
@@goldmantis5850 YES THE BASSLINE ... god it's so good (yes i'm listening to it again now hahahaha)
Nirvana was definitely the biggest musical thing on the planet when I was a kid. When he died Oasis took their place for me (and everyone else in my school).
You need to hear THE DOORS, LEGENDARY PSYCHEDELIC ROCK BAND
Talk about a unique voice…Jim Morrison.
He’s the biggest rock star ever to this day dude. He’s known worldwide. Loved by all musicians and artists.
I appreciate your take on the music I jammed to decades ago, great content!
Hey Jojo, been watching a lot of your stuff lately and appreciate you looking back at the music from before. BUT one thing always bothers me in the comments, people completely disregarding rap music. While I don't listen to it much these days, the 90's had some amazing songs. So, Give a listen to Coolio's "Gangsta's Paradise" and Tupac's "Changes" if you've never listened to them before.
Its not that ppl are disregarding rap, he is a rap fan who is reacting to music outside of his normal genre.. but ya rap from the 90s was awesome too.
People are people, and they always have been. Throughout time, we show ourselves to follow trends and emotionally resonate with certain "attitudes" as we age. As we age, the music that speaks to a certain age can offer a nostalgic reminiscence; taking you back to when you were that 'rebellious young spirit.' Since the art speaks to that specific energy, it's able to connect with future young people that are experiencing it all for the fist time.
P.S. It's the first way you're saying it. "Ah" like at the dentist, no "ANchovies."
If you've grown up in a volatile household like a lot of us have, you can relate to these nirvana songs cos the solos sound like your mum when she's at the end of the tether and she's crying and kicking off...
SHOUT OUT CARL!!! AND you are perfectly right about music transcending time.
Kurt Cobain's story is incredibly tragic. Mental health can be both terrifying and beautiful.
Mental Health Issues are real ... so are Murdering Whores.
Unfortunately for Kurt, one lead to the other.
YES, CARL!!, 🔥
Yo bro, I love the fact that you dig (good) rock music as much as you do. You are correct when you say Kurt Cobain sounded like a sad soul. He was all the way until his (framed suicide) murder in 1994. Please check out "All Apologies." Another "sad soul" singer from the same time and music genre was Layne Staley from "Alice In Chains." Cobain died April 5th, 1994 (age 27) and Staley died April 5th 2002 (age 32). Also please listen to Alice in Chains "Down in a Hole" live.
Cheers for you reaction, I love Nirvana
This is my favourite nirvana tune bruv. Loving your work
2:20 Nail on the head. Perfect description.
I will keep recommending Iron Maiden in these comments, I honestly believe you'd love them.
Hallowed be thy Name (Beast Over Hammersmith 1982)
Fear of the Dark (Rock in Rio 2001)
Yesss I m sure he will appreciate Maiden
The number of the beast is fire too
Please do either “I remember you” or “Youth gone wild” by skid row, I’m gonna do this on every video until you do .-.

Yep! Youth gone wild is very catchy. Sure Jojo will like it !
@@miti314 bet
I Remember You by Skid Row
Whooo finally another one.
Nirvana- In Bloom
Thanks Carl and you as well jojo
Nirvana is legendary!! Probably the most influential band of the ‘90s!
ANYTHING by them !!!!!!
I think maybe he was saying "I don't have a gun" to mean he comes in peace, he's a friend, a man of peace. If Micheal Jackson was the king of pop, Kurt was basically the king of grunge, alternative rock. All the bands paid homage to Nirvana. They heavily represented that era.
Yes plz do more
Psychedelic furs heaven
Unique voice...
My first Nirvana song was Negative Creep blew my f*kn mind Thrash was alive !!!!!! And then it became grunge and changed my musical life forever 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love your reaction videos
I graduated the 1998, Anyone that went to school during that time could say how absolutely huge Nirvana was...
This song is all about the bass guitar …. THE MOST STRIKING THING ABOUT THIS SONG…. Bassist all over the world this song is their Mecca song
Check out Nirvana's cover of "man who sold the world" by David Bowie
NIRVANA... A transcendent state in which there is neither suffering, desire, nor sense of self.
All his songs make me feel like a kid again… good insight fella
It's cool to see how you discover this legendary bands. Hope you can react to "Soda Stereo" any live version, they are a band from Argentina, greetings from Chile.
React to Nirvana - Heart Shaped Box
I love Evan Peters version from American Horror Story too. I grew up listening to this. I was a high school sophomore when this came out. LFR JoJo is right, it set the mood for many parties and dates of mine back in the day. But I always loved hardcore rap. Nuttin but a G Thang came out back then too.
NOW you're going on the grunge-rock era journey!!! SO awesome to see just how much you love them...
Kurt Cobain was the singer...
Nirvana(said like ner-von-a), was one of the four grunge-rock bands to come out of Seattle, Washington, there's also; Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam and Soundgarden!! N i ALWAYS add Linkin Park...although they came out way later!!😁 They ALL have very distinct voices!!!🎤
Hanoi rocks up around the bend you have to. Do it
Nirvana opens your mind, gets you thinking. Way to go Carl!!!!
Kurt you are still missed man!!!! Wish you were still with us. Your voice will always be heard as long as music exists. This song changed my life forever.
Nirvana's song Negative Creep from their first album Bleach is killer!
So fun fact the drummer of Nirvana for a while was David Grohl of Foo FIghters.
The producer Butch vig who made the album Nevermind said Kurt's voice sounded like Nails on a chalk board. In the most beautiful way.I like you said there is something youthful about his music. It is and when you where a youth as I was back in the day I felt like he was singing to us. It was mind-blowing hearing Nirvana for the first time. My favourite band ever......
I was in high school when this track came out. …good times!
His reaction to Dave’s drumming before the the second chorus, *i know*
You should try cowboy by kid rock! This is a cool song. Nirvana has great songs!

One of my favorites by nirvana ❤
The drummer for Nirvana is now, if I'm correct, the lead singer for Foo Fighters. I think his name is Dave Grohl.
kurt's voice change me. way back in 92. i was ten years old, and the album was already old. but i couldn't deny it. grunge molded me. i still love Snoop and Biggie and Chester and all the others. but i can't escape my first love. grunge. Kurt. Layne. Chris. c'mon now, there is no better foundation.....
On your description of how it makes you feel, I know what you mean. Nirvana was my older brother's music, but they were always present when I was in high school ('99-2003). I didn't like them at the time for complicated reasons, but watching reactions now there's an intense and surreal sense of nostalgia, but it's hard to describe.
Edit: This one always hits hard because of how Cobain died.
Nirvana is so good 😁😻
I remember the height of his fame. It was pretty Amazing! Loved the reaction. 💕
Nirvana- Aneuyrism (Live at paramount) will blow you away
The rock-hip hop mix had happened before Nirvana broke big, but it was still some years before that became popular. If he had lived longer, I suspect he would've collaborated with at least 1 or 2 rappers on some music. I liked a variety of styles, so very possible I think.
Check out the video for RUN DMC - Walk This Way ft. Aerosmith for the first big collaboration between rap and rock. It helped make Run DMC one of the biggest rap groups and helped revitalize the career of Aerosmith. And the video "DMC: The Real Story of Aerosmith + Run-D.M.C.'s 'Walk This Way'" talks about how it came to be. Has a nice message embedded in it.
I love it
Cult of personality by Living Colour. How many of us need to keep requesting this. You will be blown . I cant wait to see your face jojo if you do realise many of us have been requesting for this.
The drummer of nirvana was Dave Grohl who started Foo Fighters after nirvana. 20+ years of Foo Fighters wow.
