I bought this Mitsubishi in the United Kingdom, Birmingham. It was registered December 2009 and has been driven around the entire globe by two French enthusiasts. Mine has HID LED headlights and has covered almost 30,000 miles. The only maintenance has been replacement tyres and windscreen washer fluid top ups. It can be recharged via solar PV and rapid charged at motorway service stations in 25 minutes. I average 65miles per 16kWh. Fuel has cost 250 pounds per 10,000 miles = an 80% saving gas.

Some markets have more than others but globally, US, European and Japanese markets are all growing and more coming soon like South Africa and Brazil.
In the US for example, 2012 sales for Plug-Ins tripled from 2011, and 2013 is estimated to be double of 2012's.
Europe was slower, a year behind, mainly due to inconsistent model roll outs compared to other countries as well as a lack of consumer awareness. But it's increasing too.
This is still the beginning for a 20 - 30 year journey for EVs.

How much time does it need to recharge? And, when are they going to utilize super capacitors on such products?

New Respect for the I-MiEV, build quality and dedication of the Mitsubishi Corp. Team
Perhaps a misunderstanding of the U.S and world market - based on the Japanese and especially Tokyo experience. Like Europe's first imports to the US, this car likely will "fail" in the U.S., market based on Size, Range, and Style. As did the Fiat 600, Renault Dauphine, Simca, Opel etc of the 1950's VW of course, prevailed and prospered in the same market, with the same handicaps based on 1. Extreme High Quality, 2 Extreme Reliability, 3. Superior Economy. Nissan, with what is perhaps a better understanding of the American Market- due in part to having major parts of its operations in the U.S.- Nailed the size, range, and acceptable style better suited to Americans need for range and freeway speeds. 16 kwh vs 24 kwh was the fatal flaw, when comparisons are done by neophyte buyers and experienced EV owners alike. As a purely urban, suburban car, with no long commute demands on it.. the I-MiEV is highly capable, and in tight cities perhaps even better suited than Leaf or Golf EV. As a potential Used EV Buyer.. I will take a second look... and see how this car fits my personal use profile. Thank You, Mitusbishi, for this close look at your fine efforts.

What about Peogeot Ion and Citroen . They are basicaly the same !!!! Bat why are they ??? I have a peugeot ion I buy it on 2017 and the car is from 2012 for 11.700Euro. It can make only 60Km with the heat on and 110 km with no heat or AC ! So is the battery no more good inaf ?

I'm not sure you are calculating those rebates correctly. the base model S costs 60000$. there is a 7500$ federal rebates. I doubt there is a 15000$ further illinois rebate

    In what way? Name any.
Yes, the i-MiEV is comically expensive but that's because it's built in Japan and suffers from the strong Yen and high production costs. That's what Nissan learned and they moved production out of Japan tot he US and the UK which completely transformed its LEAF's price.

Wait until your charger go bad or the battery pack! Then you need a charger for 4000 euro and a battery pack for 10.000 Euros! And don t think that you can buy a used because all are vin coded !!! So driving an imiev is more expensive as a normal small car after 15 years! And not to mention the parts for the car that are expensive like you have a old Ferrari. Thanks to Mitsubishi that show as once again what is to drive an electric car!! Green drive looks different !

My charger also failed but Mitsubishi replaced it free of charge. Uk pounds 5,000 was the estimate.

it could be a good car if the price wasn't so ridiculously high. 16kWh batteries are simply not that expensive. LGchem cells is only 3200$ so the car should cost 12000$. not the ridiculous 30k$ they want for it. and the price started at 48000$.
