Selling my 1978 Chevy Nova in Port Angeles, WA. $7,499
This is great car. Overall it is in very good condition. It is the very definition of a head turner. I get compliments everywhere I go. The car is not perfect, but I am someone who takes very good care of my cars and this car has been garaged and extremely well taken care of. I really love driving this car. It is simple to work on and very reliable. I have entered it in car shows and it shows well next to the best cars. It’s very dependable. I feel confident taking it on long drives just to enjoy getting out for a drive. It drives well on the back roads or on the freeway. These Novas are rare to find especially in this condition. It runs well and is very dependable and smooth to go cruising. Straight 6 engine. It has all the A/C equipment and vents but isn’t working. I have not looked into what it needs.
Custom upholstery done by Kirkhams in American Fork, Utah in 2017.
Wheels & tires have less than 3,000 miles on them. Purchased with the new wheels in 2017.
Transmission with paperwork from Clegg’s Auto in Orem, Utah in 2017. I've put on maybe 3K since then.
    Newer springs & shocks.
The heater and defrost work great.
The switch to change the fan between high and low is broken. It is either on high fan or you turn it off. It hasn't been a big deal so I've never fixed it.
    Newer battery.
New muffler and exhaust last year.
    Power steering.
    Automatic transmission.
    Original AM radio.
Manual windows and manual door locks
    Always garaged and pampered.
The body is good with a few little rust spots in the typical lower places under the door. I can provide pictures and video.
I wouldn't call it show condition, although I've entered it in a lot of shows and always get a lot of great comments. It looks really good, it could be a great daily or weekend cruiser. Up close, the paint is not perfect. It was painted at some point before I purchased it and it was not a high-end restoration paint job. For a cruising car though, it really does looks great.
Unknown actual mileage. It shows 97,444 miles.
I would trust this car to drive it anywhere. It is really in great condition. There are fewer and fewer of these on the road. I've really enjoyed having this and going for drives on a Saturday.
    Located in Port Angeles, Washington
If you would like more pictures, video, or have any specific questions, please ask.
    Some additional information.
I think that the speedometer is off by 5 mph or so. I've never officially tested it, but it just seems that way when driving. Front and rear seat belts function. Interior lights all function. The LED headlights have "daytime" halo lights that are wired to the parking lights so you can run them during the day. They look awesome. I usually leave them on white, but you can change the color through a Bluetooth app. The LED headlights are very bright at night and are far better than the original ones. I still have the originals if you'd prefer to have them.
    I always run premium fuel.

Love this! I see how I kinda looked when I was riding around in mine. Got a 78 nova getting ready to put back on the road after 4 long years of working on it. Daily drive it for a while till I had another car to let it sit so I could do some serious work to it. Now, it’s about done! Cant wait to welcome it back to the road better than ever before!

That's my old Nova, man. Had one just like it. I raised the
suspension about one and a half inches...looked TUFF!
    I dropped a 275 HP 350 in it. I installed a performance
stall converter...Made a big difference. But then, the
350 was infinitely stronger than the old 305.

I learned a trick by watching this video (pump the gas before turning on the nova)

Except for some chips in the paint, that 1978 Nova looks great, and those Cragar rims, add certain appeal to the car👆👌👏☝🏻👍☝️

I used to live in sequim and I never saw your nova when I went to Port Angeles. Awesome nova though. Been wanting an early 1970s Nova myself.

Nice! It wasn't my daily driver, but I liked to go on drives through Sequim. I even did the Sequim Irrigation Festival a couple of times. It's a great area. I miss the car but when you need money you do what you have to do! :) I hope you find one!

beautiful car , do you miss it, i will never ever sell my 76 nova, i would miss it to much, but you had a beautiful car, looked to be in great shape, were the upgraded headlights hard to install, did you have to mod in any way to make them fit

Well I didn't want to sell it but as a small business owner my company was hit really hard during this time of COVID. I had to sell it to survive and keep our house. So it wasn't much of a choice. But, yes, for sure, I miss it when the sun is out and I think it would be awesome to go for a drive. The headlights took some patience because they are made for a Jeep. I did not have to do any modifications, but it took awhile to get it just right and get it to fit in correctly. A lot of trial and error over a couple of days and then I didn't have to mess with them again. Glad you like the car! When things get good again financially, I might get another one and fix it up.

Back in 1989 when I was 16, a family friend gave me Chevy Nova 78 coupe. Loved riding in that car, until the water pump broke. I was too young and dumb at the time. I called a junk yard and junk it for $100. Smh

Oh, that's a heartbreaker! I've done similar things. I had a 1969 Chevy pickup and the engine went out. I was frustrated and someone offered me $200 and I took it. I immediately regretted it.

i remember when i was young and seen those last gen novas and thought they looked like cheap trash. they've kinda grown on me in reent decades now that no longer see them on the road. in fact if didn't have my 86 ss i'd go for 1.
