Why are American fire trucks so big compared to everyone else? I know New York is a big city, but so are London and Tokyo and they have much smaller fire trucks. Not a criticism. Just wondering.
Leo Bruce It takes mostly up to 40s. Water on a (maybe a car) fire is mostly after 20s (quick-acting hose) or less. On a building fire mostly after 1min.
Always a pleasure to see the FDNY responding !!
Cool Catch!👍

My uncle drives it. I’ve been inside it as well as up close and personal. It’s a beautiful truck. Way too big lol

Leo Bruce Also there is a 3000-5000 gallon water tank on board.
Leo Bruce In germany theres mostly not even an 1000 gallon tank. Only on some tankers theres a 2000 gallon tank.

@@MichaelDeSanta. I don't think the tank is that big. Maybe 500 to 1000 gallons.
