Great stuff Liam (as always) Those par 3's would be short par 4's for me.
Par 3's are the toughest holes. There is no room for error especially when they are over 200 yards.
Liam, that was a tough watch for what was suppose to be an easy course mate, and I couldn't believe those par3's, you deserve a medal just to get on those greens at all..🤔! Well played anyway, and hearing Joe sniggering in the background just summed it up..🤣🤣!! But that's yet another course with really stunning views.., it makes me quite jealous and green with envy..😢🤢👍👏
Love these 18 hole vids, Liam. That looked tough especially those 230 yard par 3s. I've been playing Cannock Park (slope 113 I think) and they would easily be par 4s (especially that first hole). If you want an easy one you should give it a go
Appreciate seeing videos. They make me feel much better about my 28 handicap. I always worry about getting round the course hitting crummy shots. Seeing videos like this reminds me that even good golfers have bad games, makes me feel much better about just being bad lol
Lots of par 3s around or well over 200 yds...would have hurt many of us. You kept hanging in there which is most important thing and a big smile on your face as usual.

Absolutely only a game
To be fair, based on how Liam plays the 4-5 holes on many episodes, I'm shocked he's a 5 handicapper. 10 seems much more likely handicap.
You are slice your drives because your left hand grip is ridiculously "weak". Turn it to the RIGHT as I've told you so many times you must be deliberately imagining it's something else, but you're wrong!! Believe me!! Your left hand grip needs to be turned to the RIGHT and your drives will straighten out.
Remember, doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result is the sign of madness!!

Does make you think why not add some strategic bunkering/hazards and turn a few of those 230 yard par 3’s into risk/reward drivable par 4’s!

Just cause it's flat, doesn't mean it's easy. That was a sly course. There wasn't a single "short" par-3 in the lot, and if the wind was blowing, that would have been real tough... It seems like the kind of course a little local knowledge and some course management would have made a massive difference!

Liam, I’m from the US, and haven’t been across the pond (yet, and when I do it’ll be GolfMates Travel) so I know your courses are so much older than over here.
But I think you did same as last time, you need to find a Par 70/71/72 with the lowest course rating, if this Par 65 has a rating that is “low” like 64, that would be like a par 72 being rated 71…that’s tough!!
There’s a course near me, Par 72, course rating around 65…I can tell you there are ZERO 200yd+ Par 3’s (one is less than 100 some days), four or five Par 4’s you can go for the green…now THAT is easy.
So, all I’m saying is, to find the ‘easiest course in the UK,’ you need to find a course that has a Course Rating that has the biggest difference between that and it’s Par…a Par 71 with a rating of 67 should be easier than a Par 68 with a rating of 66
There must be a easier course than this, the long par 3 S mean your laying up all the time.

Liam, I am a member at Winterfield. You obviously did not play to your normal standard, however you seriously underestimated the yardage to the holes. You cannot hit short of the greens and expect the ball to run on to the green at many of the holes. The greens are not easy to read and I would doubt very much it is the easiest course in the UK, mainly because there are 6 par threes that are roughly 200 yards long. Regards Golfmate John. I think that having so many Par 3s made it play more difficult. Especially those Long Ones. Some lovely Holes on this Course.

Yes I agree with others, the par 3's are tough ! but you did make them harder with your tee shots going right, good job you sorted them out, although I was nervous watching you tee off the 18th, that car was definitely in play !!

Great video Liam. Very tough par 3s! Be careful when dropping from a wrong green that you stay within the one club length relief area. On 17, it looked as though you were further away after your drop.

Generally you yell "four" before you hit someone, LMAO, 😂🤣. Don't know about that being the easiest course, but I think you would have done better with some better shot selection. In any case, it beats working for a living! Cheers.

Some days the putts just won't fall. And the woods refuse to behave. But look at the bright side. At least you didn't put a competitors face on a cupcake before the round and then go and embarrass yourself. And you didn't do what I did. Lead the round and rub it in only to fall apart on the final 3 holes and lose. Even a plus handicap doesn't always break 80. So I'll not be giving you grief over it.

Wonderful Liam, most people would rather golf at some tropical paradise, for me these Scottish courses are a golfing paradise. I don't know what it is, I think they are just more cerebral.

Oh Liam, I’d stay away from the easy courses if I were you! Having said that your driving wasn’t on song and the weather was good, it must be tough when the wind gets up. There were also some pretty long par 3’s which at my age I could not reach even with a driver and the first hole is evil. Great video though, but just one thing, you are meant to shout “4” when the ball is in the air, not after it hits the lady’s bag - tut, tut.

I say not hit well
Looks cold, wearing a long sleeve jacket, constantly at least one club short, using gap wedge, when your in sand or lob wedge range, perhaps you need a caddie? That said those long par threes look rough.

Hi Liam , Carl from the Waterloo volunteer golf society we play that course on a Saturday after a drive up to Scotland as an easy starter for our week in may. Once you've played it in good weather it becomes easier ha ha 😂

Hey Liam you are a really good putter - but if you are constantly thinking before you hit about slickness of green and not knocking it way through then inevitable result will be ok racing putts short - you had at least 2 that were on line and just short. You will make 3 or 4 footers back having seen line all day long if you are a bit heavy handed.
Slope is not an indication of difficulty. Look at course rating.
Course rating is only for sracth players
@@GolfMates Liam you're closer to scratch than a higher handicapper. You were too hard on yourself here, despite the 100 odd slope, it was not a super easy course.
What did the lady order for lunch? If you don’t hit fairways every course is difficult.

To be fair just with how fast the greens are means this course is harder than it looks. A lot of the slope rating just goes off the course length as the golf association did not have time to play each course.

How can a golf course with such long Par 3's, that I'll guess many Golfmates would have trouble reaching with a driver, have such a low Slope Rating? Something doesn't sound right.

Just watched the full video to go 10 over on a course where your nit on your A game still good golf. Par 3s were not easy and some were verging on a joke 236 yard par 3? Might be easy on the scorecard but it isn't. Very much like Seaham up north here says 5700 par 70 scorecard but the elevations of the course make that far harder than that. Secondly links golf totally diffrent game. I used to be a member st Newbiggin but haven't played links golf for 4 years apart from last week and it's a totally diffenet. You did well. Myself I shot a 9 at hartlepool on one hole that wrecked my handicap straight up meant to be an 11 came out of it eith a 92 or something. Keep enjoying and entertaining

Was just going to say Liam been watching your videos as always and get good ideas about presentation for my own videos you were one of the people who inspired me to make my own videos though not in the same class as yours as i just do it on my phone with myself. If your looking for another hardest course in the UK in terms of course rating I'd strongly recommend you try a video on rockliffe hall. I've done it a few times off the white tees. Which is long 6900 yards in the winter in the summer there are the golf tees which is 7877 yards which I wouldn't not suggest you do I think the course rating I was off was 74. Would love to see you give thst a go one day I certainly found it a challange. I'm a 10 handicapper myself and my last 2 scores I posted there were 92 and 93. Not for the faint hearted you need to accept on par 4s you might not get on in 2 and also 1 bad shot spoils your entire hole. If your lokkig for a diffrent criteria for the hardest coirse in the UK this course is worth a go near Darlington so will be about 2 half hours away from you. When health is better would love to try and get to your home club Charlton cum Hardy and see if i can have a word with Dave the pro seei f he can give ne a few tips he makes it sound so simple but his tips are so effective

The average handicap in the UK is 16, so you are well below average. 😀look on the bright side.
I play a small course in Essex. 2 x par 3s of 250 yds water in front and 160 yds to clear. Par 3's ? NOT FOR ME their not.. 2 x 180/ 200 yds. 1 x 150 yds over the back and in a water course. Good fun is golf.

You can't play to your handicap every day, otherwise your handicap would be wrong. Good vlog I like this style.
Keep your right knee flexed in your backswing. Just like your wedge swings. That'll stop your "over the top, out the toe" contact. And hit your driver on as many holes as possible to make them easier. Another great video!
Try Hinckley heights in Oxford looks easier than that course but harder than painswick

Glad you enjoyed Winterfield Liam. Long par 3’s make it tough to play to your handicap, especially when the wind is blowing. The 1st has wrecked a good few of my cards in medals, always happy with a 4. 😀
You really struggled Liam on all aspects of your game. Another lesson with OMP could put you right.
Those Par 3's were not easy at all! You need to bring "Smiling Lee, " EBay Pete and Mr Barlow and see how they play up there!
I used to go play a 9 hole course that was tucked in between the Rio Grande River and a farm...and it wasn't even 150 yards wide. The holes were all very narrow, and the greens were all very small! The shortest Par 3 was only 90 yards...except you couldn't see the green! The tee box was one side of the farmers road...which was about 30 feet higher than the tee box...and the green was on the the other side of the road. You just aimed at the big oak tree behind the green! When you finished the hole, you rang the bell hanging from the big tree to let the players behind you know you were finished! It was a very difficult course.
Just catching up with this one. Love the comment “play the Par 3s well and you will have a good score”. Oops, you didn’t take your own advice.

That is not an easy course mate. Great to see you playing like us! Fine lines? I have had a look at your tee shots where you went right and it looks as if you are actually aiming right? Your irons don't have a follow through? Your chip and put game is superb. What do I know? I'm a stat man more than a golfer. Great video and honest. Come to Wolves mate, not too far and play an easy course :-D I will give you a fiver for the petrol! :-D

Lesson of the day: Golf is NEVER easy. EVER. One of my favorite courses, Missaukee GC: 68.2/114 par 71 in Lake City, MI. Am a 7 handicap and shot 80. Net +5 and I was mad as hell but i thought about score from the get go and thats exactly why I underperformed. Next time I played there, shot 76 net +0.7 because I swallowed my pride. Any one from Cadillac area Michigan should give it a try its overall pretty easy yes, but each hole has something that can catch you off guard, even if it's subtle. Great conditions, great deal, great people.
Proof positive that there is no such thing as an easy golf course only courses less hard than others. Keep up the good work Liam, look forward to your daily videos and never disappointed.

Easy course, not for high handicappers like me, @ 21, even Liam struggled to get on the green in 1 on most of the long par 3's!
Liam, it might be the angle that the camera is pointing compared to you but you do look like you are aiming right a lot, particularly off the tee

@@GolfMates I've noticed it on a few of your videos, when you leak right it looks like that is where you are aiming. It might be the camera angle as much as alignment. Also, mark and clean each putt, and then line up the ball with an aim point that has taken 4-6 putts of my rounds. I think a few more might have dropped on this round than did
