    I know this video is 5vyears old. I am excited about the arcade 1up Ms. Pac-Man 1981 that's is coming. In a few weeks. It will have a live button. Look forward to my own mini arcade in my home. Thanks for this video. Brought back the 80s

    Mrs. Pac-Man was my favorite game to play. Mostly because my quarter seemed to go a little further than playing games like Pac-Man or Galaxian. :)

    I was just thinking about this tonight and came here to find an example for the kids on Twitter who've probably never seen one of these things. I remember a restaurant called Lums at Tyson's Corner Center in the DC suburbs (they specialized in rotisserie chicken, the early 80s were a weird time) had one of these along with a Pac-Man cocktail machine and, at one point, a Galaga cocktail (one of these might have been a conversion of one of the others). I loved that there were separate controls for two players so you didn't have to give up your spot when it was the other player's turn.

    Love Ms pac-man spent big Swiss Franks as a student in Zurich, spent two years to get to the end screen, if it wasn't for an on going challenge from a Swiss friend I would never have got to the end screen.

    as a 65 yr old young gamer I absolutely love your machines have you had the 4 player Horse breeding and Racing game that you used Cards on it used to print your horse details on card and you had to breed wisely and feed and train well to get a winner I loved that game but never see it now there was also a ski race game at the local games parlour which you stood on and did downhill races

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  7 років тому +1

      Yes I think that one was called Breeders Cup, they were very very expensive... did you play the one with the big screen on the wall? They had little stations that connected together and then you could add a huge screen to watch the races on. It was really unique because the horses could even get old! The ski one I think was called Alpine Racer, huge game, took up all kinds of room....

    • @johnbethell1952
      @johnbethell1952 7 років тому +2

      It was Breeders Cup and it had a large screen I had 300 horses on that game cost me heaps, I played maybe 5-6 hrs a day after work and on Weekends Alpine racer was fun but My favourites were the pinball machines I loved the Addams Family machine I worked in a Christchurch games arcade called Wizards it was always busy had about 100 machines from golf to sit in Drivers so watching your videos brings back many happy thoughts

    I spent a lot of years with my only option being a machine with the speedup installed. I maintained a belief that I preferred the original. But one of my local arcades (I'm between Chicago & Milwaukee, where I've got several arcades with 150+ classic games in them, including Galloping Ghost which has 725+ and climbing.) has an Ms Pac cab with the speedup and a Ms Pac / Galaga with the original speed. I find the original to be frustratingly glacially slow now. :) So slow that it affects my gameplay. I can get WAY further on a speedup machine than I can an original.
    Thanks for the video, as always.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  4 роки тому +1

    Off topic, do you sometimes come across the classic arcade game "Wizard of Wor"? Just love that game, but don't know if they are super-rare these days. A restoration video on that game would make my eyes pop out :) (live in Europe, so I'm not a potential buyer or anything. Just a fan, asking questions).

    Jr. Pac-Man cocktails were a thing but as a conversion kit. If you search John's Arcade Hyperspace (now closed down) there's one in that video (from February 2015) at 42 : 03.

    Hello Joe, how do you adjust speed? She is BLAZING around the screen. How do I revert to default speed setting?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  4 роки тому +2

      Joe there is an IC chip that has been swapped to make it fast. It's in a socket, but you need a replacement chip to make it the normal speed again. Unfortunately you can't do it with just a switch, it was a 'hack' to make the game play faster so you'd die faster, so you'd spend another quarter faster! It's chip 6F you can order one from www.HobbyRoms.com .

    Nice cabinet. I am jealous, you only payed 25cents. In west Europe we pay equal to $0.50 per game. For example, 20 Belgium franks, 1 Gulden(dutch), 1 Deutsche Mark, etc. What where the prices in the UK? I am talking about late 80s early 90s.

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  7 років тому +2

      Electrodude over here everything changed to a quarter per play starting. With the pinballs in the 70s... When Dragons Lair came out it was the first game regularly setup at 50 cents per play... I think Daytona USA was the first that was normally $1.00. All the games were able to be more though the whole time.

    I am planning to buy a cocktail table with 412 games. Would you get one with a tracball? Or stick more with the original joystick, and why??

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  2 роки тому +1

      Janice I don't really like the ones with a trackball because you really only use it for Millipede and Centipede, and it takes up a ton of room on the control panels, I'd just get one with a joystick but it's just personal preference....

    Hi- can you please tell me how I can turn the volume down on my Pac-Man cocktail table?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  2 роки тому

      If you look inside the door, on the left you'll see the gameboard inside the cabinet. On the top right corner of the gameboard is the audio section, there is a big white thumbwheel sticking up off the board in that area that is a volume control.

  • @nancysherburne7445

    It sounds like Joe is saying Miss Pac-Man rather than Mizz Pac-Man. I bought a new one back in 1983 with money from an insurance claim. I reached a point where, about fice years later, I decided to sell my mobile home with everything inside, including the Ms. Pac-Man cocktail table. I miss it so much I just may buy one and hope I can find enough space for it in my tiny 400-square-foot apartment. I sure miss going to a games arcade in a miniature golf course and play Pac-Man, Ms. Pac-Man, Super Psc-Man, Asteroids, and Centipede and feel for those too young to have experienced the same.

    Never owned a COCKtail arcade hehe but what's up with 2 transformers' in there?

    • @LyonsArcade
      @LyonsArcade  7 років тому +2

      One of the transformers creates all the voltages to run the board (I think it's 12 volts, and 24 volts AC), and the other transformer is an Isolation transformer that runs the monitor. Some companies made just 1 transformer that did both, but on the bally midway games they were separate. Not sure why...
