2L profit from 2.8L is like 70% profit margin, which means 15rs vada is costing only 4.5 rs to make, which is not possible considering the size of that vada pav, multiple chutneys, vada , pav , chilli, oil ,gas, packing material would cost at least 7rs plus selling a 600 pc in 10 hr means selling 1 vada every minute which is rare unless you are very famous, need atleast 2 more helpers if you are selling 600 pcs daily, also don't forget mandatory haftas to municipal officials and police officers, actual calculation - 8*600= 4800*30 = 144000 , salary for 2= 144000-30000= 111000,haftas= 111000-30000= 90000
An average vada pav vendor sells - 300 pcs and average selling price is 12 rs, profit = 300*5= 1500*30= 45000 , less salary for 1 helper= 45000-10000= 35000, less hafta = 35000- 5000 = 30000/-

I used to drive a cab and earned around 60-70k. Now, I'm an LDC in state government earning four times less-and honestly, I was happier driving. Worst case as a cabbie? An annoying passenger, but at least I only had to tolerate them for a few minutes or hours. Annoying boss? You’re stuck until they transfer or you do!
The real challenge? Social pressure. People would say, "Doesn't matter if you drive a Celerio or a BMW, you'll always be called a driver."
Now, I'm seriously thinking about driving again on weekends.

This is true in some cases although we cant generalise. There was a street chat vendor in Bangalore whom I visited regularly. Once there was a shutdown in city due to some protests. He was sad and told me he had lost about 25k business because of that single day close down.

What isn't mentioned is the cuts and bribes that go to various officials, politicians, protection goons, and accidental expenses due to damages, etc. Selling food on a cart might be profitable to an extent and definitely better income that many jobs, even clerical ones, but the daily grind and hassle is not for everybody. You need to be really fit, tough, and mainly heat-resistant and sound-proof.

i am too working as a business associate in jubilant food works(domino's). Still bike is not in good condition, also guests were very rude sometimes for delaying 2 to 5 mins claiming that pizzas would not be hot and asking us to cancel the orders and take it back. we work for more than 12hrs a day 7 days a week. the amount we earn is not good enough for the work we done.

I guess there is a mathematical mistake in the 1st part(vada pav)
A vada pav pack will cost you Rs30
One pack contains 6 pav so Rs.5 each for bun .
Selling 600 pav a day means Rs3000 on pavs only Which comes out to be 90000a month then there is potato (prices fluctuate ) and you can hardly make 20 pav for 1 kg and refined oil and then the gas .
The entire expense will come out be close to 1.2-1.5lakhs .
But still he will make a lot .
But here is the catch you can't have the same no. Of customers every single day "IT'S A VERY TOUGH JOB".

My honest opinion is that this video is misleading. If you are making this maning vada pavs on a daily basis then you need staff too. Staff would increase expenses. I read an article where an entrepreneur sells 800 vada pav daily at a price of 20 , he made 80k montly after reducing the costs. So how is it possible to earn this much net income while selling less than 800 pavs daily at a lower price
By saying Rs 2,80,000/month , you mean actual income generated by the vendor is equal to = (Money earned - money invested) ie, = something Rs 10,000---15,000 .

Very tall claims , one day experience is faroff from routine , jnhave to pay rent or bribes for location , 622 wada pavs will need 1 cylinder per day and at least 10 litres of cooking oil , plus 622 pavs , it would need 6 hours minimum to prepare those wadas , labour is also cost , , chatni is not free either , spices potatoes approx 60 kgs is also a cost boiling the frying ....his numbers dont add up , unless if u r using very cheap ingredients and low hyegene making 2 lac a month is impossible . Low quality ingredients won't make business sustainable due to imminent fall in demand after few days
