Liked it straight away because my mind is blown and I'm in love with my new banjo that is a complete fucking mystery to me.
I just got a banjo and have been playing like I would a guitar with a normal pick.

Thanks much Brian. Didn't know I'd leave the thrift shop with a banjo that day, but after a fresh set of strings and tuning, your lesson was the very first step. I love simple, clear, unpretentious explanations like yours. Now I know two rolls. Getting kinda sorta close to being locked in to muscle memory ... ready for another baby step!

I was hoping for a video like this. I'm a damn good guitar player if I do say so myself. I can play a little mandolin, bass, ukulele and I even played some viola years ago. But damn I can't make a banjo sing for anything. I'm determined to figure it out but it's proving to be a challenge. This helps. Thanks.
