- / @nickfoleyuk Hey!
I've had my Hammond XK-5 for quite a while now and I thought, ahead of the UK Hammond event in Milton Keynes, I would share with you all the hints and tips that I have learned about using this organ on the road for an extended period of time.
Remember, for those of you not in the future, we are having a roadshow on the 4th May 2023 in Milton Keynes (England) where you will be able to see the entire Hammond range, meet me and a few other musicians and talk and play all things Hammond courtesy of @bonnersmusic .
Hope to see you there,
Nick More from me exclusively at / nickfoleyuk
Thanks for another great tutorial!
Cheers
Thanks Nick! I finally got mine with just the upper last month after we spoke. I’m utterly addicted now! (and I think my wife is a bit jealous) the manual options and all the sounds it can make are just …everything I wanted an more. I credit your videos specifically for getting me to finally pull the trigger.
I got it for high gain/full draw type music, but since I live by the beach, I’ve been really into 74(2+)00(1/2)008 perc on soft third, ovd 40%, rev 33%. Any idea what the XK5 setup would be on “Jammin” from Bob Marley?
Exfellent!
Nick,
Thank you for another helpful video. I play a C3 at home and a Xk3c and Xk5 through a 145 also a custom 120 Leslie. I would love to know specific settings you utilize on the Xk5 specifically the key click and
percussion. Also, I will just miss your gig on May 4. I plan to be in London on the 7th. Wondered if you are playing anywhere that week?
Hi Alan, I’ll take a look at those settings. I’m afraid I’m only out on the 4th sorry
Grazie per le notizie, ma riesce ad emettere un giudizio chiaro e coinciso sul Xk5?
Always been interested in this set up, still prefer it with a real leslie, even though they've improved the simulation over time.
Any thoughts on the new XK4 yet? Would be interested to know how much it differs to the XK5 system.
Might try and make that event too. Keep up the good work, cheers.
Thanks mate
The newer Hammond expression pedals come with detachable wires now, so you don’t have to worry about the fraying you spoke of.
Only the EXP-20 I think. The 100’s still hardwired
Nick, what is the bag for the XK5 that you refer to. I want to find something to use for when I go out locally to play - don't need a wood case, just something to protect it in generally. Please provide a link to the bag you mentioned.
I think this is the single manual bag: www.bonnersmusic.co.uk/products/hammond-xk5-soft-carry-bag
Dual manual bag: www.bonnersmusic.co.uk/products/hammond-xk5-lower-manual-carry-bag
Bonners will treat you well, tell them who sent you!
Parli troppo e non suoni...!!!
