She blew us away from the moment she opened her mouth when we watched this back in 2012 and I don't mind admitting I cried when she won the whole thing. Phenomenal talent.
I remember watching this on telly when it first aired 🤭😂 I was getting dinner on the table & we all froze as soon as Karise started singing - she blew us away!! It was the first & only reality show I’ve ever watched because I was interested in Karise. Such a beautiful soul who had quite a few hard knocks in life & was never sure of her talent. I always hope that she will believe in herself the way that we believe in her: A gorgeous woman and an amazing talent 🥰
Karise won the competition, absolutely deserved. Seal won the next season with Harrison Craig. Another talented young man who overcame some challenges.
And she was only 19 here...I watched this live and was completely blown away. I saw her in a Nth Perth Hotel a few years later and she was absolutely amazing. If she had won this show in America, she would be huge...
What a fantastic trip down memory lane!! And it was a deserved win but it turned out that was not a happy ending. The voice producers and behind the scenes bosses really did her dirty. She openly said that she didn’t go to school after the age of 12 and that she had had a very hard life and understandably some mental health issues but that did not stop them from pushing her way way out of her comfort zone and blindly her with legal jargon that she had no hope of understanding and telling her “it’s alright just sign it we have your back etc” By the time her legal obligations to the show were done she was dumped even more broken and broke!! 😢 and that explains the big gap in music from her. I first read about this in a magazine back in the day when Dr’s surgeries still provided magazines and of course I wandered how much of the article was true? But I have since seen a TV interview with her and to hear her talking about how they treated her, even though a lot of the truth she couldn’t say because of threat of being sued by them, it was heartbreaking. But OMG she is a tough chick and has fought her way back, found love and become a mumma and is still working hard to get her music out to us. This year (2024) she was doing some gigs in NSW which meant she loaded her car drove from QLD alone to do the gigs no help, no roadie’s, just her and drove back again to be with her young family. Dam hard work!! So don’t be fooled people you can have an out of this world voice and talent and win a major tv talent show but there is absolutely no guarantee you will become a megastar making big money. I truly hope these types of tv shows have cleaned up their act and are now aware that they do have a duty of care but there is no way I would ever let one of my children go on a soul destroying show like that.
@nataliemarshall7158 - Karise may not've had the education to understand the legalese. But she was smart enough to avoid the road to FAME because she would have had to sell her soul.
Thank you for your reaction to my request..I can listen to Karise Eden all day.. I think Karise's voice is a mix of Janis Joplin & Tina Turner.. I will be sending you more Karise Eden to react to. Especially songs that she wrote & performs ❤
One of the qualities I admire most in people with the level of knowledge and talent that you display in these videos Nina, is a willingness to share the fruits of that skill, but to do so with a total lack of pretension. Watching and listening to you is like being with a close friend; you're absolutely charming. And I'm learning more about music from you with every video I watch. Thank you! 🙂
Brilliant reaction, thank you Nina. It's refreshing to see a reaction like this where the prelude is considered to provide the full story behind what makes that voice which I think is really important for these voice artists. 👏
Hi Nina, great job, and I love karise,s voice and she has a lot of music out but all the songs she performed on the voice are perfection you should check them out, I love your reviews
Wow. Some power and delivery. Hope to hear more from her. Love your reaction as usual. Suggest you also experience this song by two others: Angelina Jordan at age 12 and Diana Ankudinova at age 14.
Loved this reaction Nina. Yes I still prefer the older format of The Voice Australia....now it's so gimmicky and at times more about the judges than the contestants....Having said that it is still a great place for singers like Karise to show their talent. Regards Delta I hope you got to see a show or two when she was in the UK recently. She is such a beautiful soul. Love your channel 💖💖
I loved the shock of hearing Karise's voice for the first time. She does a great job of taking a bluesy twist on the James Brown soul classic. For another take on this song, check out Angelina Jordan's live performance from 2018. Here's the link: ua-cam.com/video/HEm7tGrjIKk/v-deo.html
karise is a BEAST!!! tone and emotion for days! you should react to more auditions from the voice winners. would love to see your analysis on some of them. from the voice US franchise - i'd say alisan porter (season 10 winner) audition of "blue bayou" is the best one of the bunch. just a masterclass at vocal control. would love to see you reacting to it!
ROTFLMAO Nina I was hoping to be the one to pay for a request to see Karise Eden. Someone else beat me to it 😂😡😂 Well least I got your REACTION to Karise 😁 Also I know ANOTHER Aussie whose voice will SHOCK YOU, hope someone don't beat me to it again 🤨😂
@@TheChristOfRockNRoll I don't wanna give Nina a bad name, I KNEW I should have REPHRASED that post 😂 I actually love Nina's channel and 99 percent of reactionaries charge a small fee it's pretty common knowledge or should be by now. Even Nina gives free requests, I was PARTLY being a smart ahzzz when I posted about paying for a request
What an amazing audition! 😮

What a voice! So amazing! 👍
Good old days,Karise Eden and Harrison Craig, two differents personnalities but such great talents !
I think they also chose the right coach with Seal. Some of the other judges since that time just don’t make good song choices.
She also sing in sing off back to black I love it same episode of this yr. Beautiful
Her singing back to black was my fav
You breath fresh air ❤
She's phe-nom-enal, truly amazing.

Really showcases Edens voice
Just for fun, Karise and Emma Donovan singing When Something Is Wrong With My Baby? Seal was the perfect choice for her.
Wow. Some power and delivery. Hope to hear more from her. Love your reaction as usual. Suggest you also experience this song by two others: Angelina Jordan at age 12 and Diana Ankudinova at age 14.
She’s got a fantastic tone hasn’t she! So glad you enjoyed the reaction, thanks for the suggestions 😊

I remember watching this on the tv, and my first thought was she sounds like Janis Joplin; what a cool tone to her voice.

Watch ERE by juan karlos labajo,
If James Brown and Janis Joplin had a child it would be Karise Eden.
I’d rather go blind
