I plan to add a high end travel card next year. Currently like the simplicity of the venture X but I'm bullish on WF Beyond. Also Citi and Bilt cooking. Will be very interesting.
Loved the video. Loved the accountability on the past predictions. Hey we are just taking an educated guess. I like the new predictions. That premium Bilt is interesting and makes sense. Not too sure about Wells Fargo overall - but I appreciate going in in again. lol. Thanks for the info
Thank you! The Premium Bilt feels right, I don't know what Autograph Beyond looks like, I hope it's solid. I do think this year is going to be wild given everything we know about so far.
Interesting predictions. I’d say you had some safe ones and swung for the fences on a few (but hey why not). In any case, my predictions… VX starts charging for AUs, Chase Ink SUBs get retooled to something like $10K/6 months or $15K/9 months to push spend and slow down Ink train, significant Citi data breach, Wells gets new transfer partners- Marriott and Aeroplan, and Hyatt dives deeper into a floating award chart, maybe they get off of fixed for Category 8 properties only (for now).
Re-tooled Ink offers could be necessary but $10k on a $0AF card feels a little painful, but 100k points would be strong for it. Citi Data Breach sounds on brand for them. Wells adding Marriott and Aeroplan would be huge!
Out of all these I think the Barclay’s is the most ridiculous take, but the Chase Ink Reserve type is the most likely. Followed by the WF Autograph Beyond, I’m hoping for big things with that one.
Hey Matt. It's funny you mention Barclays divesting from travel cards... I've been thinking about the Wyndham cards, hoping they switch over to either Wells or Citi. What are your thoughts there?
i have on good authority that we’ll be hearing about Citi in Q2, March so long as Citi doesnt Citi (which is likely). Source is drinking buds who work there, but not in the credit card org.
9:14 do Bilt and Bank of America have any track record of working together? I don’t think WF will introduce two high end cards with high end fees in the same year. Especially if they are enforcing any kind of ?/24 , would be forcing people to pick one over the other and it seems clear they would pick the beyond to promote over anything bilt related. Also hope they don’t do anything that’s not 1:1, you are the king of talking about ratios that aren’t 1:1 11:23 would be very silly of Amex to allow green card Holders in any lounge. They want to increase plat fee to get people out. Doubt they would do things to get people in.
Bilt and Alaska has an agreement that the Alaska card gets 3x on Rent (w/ 3% fee) so it stands to reason that a premium Alaska card would at MINIMUM earn 3x, but potentially more. I think Wells could walk and chew gum if the cards are different enough, and Bilt would benefit from a higher end card...it might not work well for everyone, but I could see them Launching Beyond and a higher end card and make it worth it with some sort of transfer capability between Bilt and Wells. Any such arrangement like that would be REALLT hard to keep 1:1...but we'll see. MAybe they don't do Centurion, but I can see Green getting some sort of Lounge (Priority pass?)
Cards I’m getting? Signed up to lock in an extra 5500 miles on the Alaska Card if it’s compelling, but right now it isn’t. JetBlue Premium card makes a Lot of Sense. Then probably the Wells Fargo Beyond. Player 2 just got approved for a card…still need to figure out the rest of a strategy for them.
@@MattClausen it just sounds to me that Capital One is just downgrading everything it's not a good sign..... I use the saver card heavily because of the Uber credit to 10 X now they took that away. I don't even want to use a card anymore.......

Interesting predictions Matt. Its going to be interesting to see how the landscape and game changes in 2025.
Thanks Jon! I’m intrigued to see what happens

I do think we’re going to see all three jump in. Hopefully legacy cards respond as well

2025 prediction, Amex will raise annual fees and introduce weekly credits
Weekly; how forgiving! I was assuming Daily credits to like the Pepper giftcard app!
Amex is going coupon Tabasco hot sauce products 😂😂
@@MattClausen you want to boil frogs you have to turn up the heat slowly
And people will still sign up like crazy. amex is the apple of the credit card game..marketing geniuses
Thanks for the info + video!

Citi data breach 😂😂😂🎉
You’re not taking the Nice to Monaco helicopter on the regular???? 🤔🚁🎩
The Royals of Monaco revoked my privileges.
Oh snap you trim the beard it looks great brother and look like you got a haircut too Nice
It was needed
@MattClausen I appreciate your videos, they keep me in the loop for sure!!!

They have said they want to get out of Travel Co-brands. Apple Card would be a stretch, but it’s weird there’s been no word a new issuer for it.
Citi finding a way to Citi the Premier card seems like a pretty safe bet. 2025 should be an interesting year
If there's a bank that's going to doink their launch, it's Citi.
You really don’t like Citi, do ya? 😂
They need to add cell phone coverage and gas/EV charging to the Green card for American Express.
Those additions would continue making it the Wells Autograph with an AF and somewhat better transfer partners!
Funny, my Barclays Master card was first an Apple credit card. They eliminated the Apple card. Could be the right call.
The silence on Apple is odd at this point.
It is. It maybe a shocker when it is announced.
Hey Matt.
It's funny you mention Barclays divesting from travel cards...
I've been thinking about the Wyndham cards, hoping they switch over to either Wells or Citi.
What are your thoughts there?
I would prefer Wells, but I don’t know that Wyndham could go wrong with either so long as the Business keeps its 5x Utility multiplier.
Predictions are hard, especially about the future.
That's true. The Golden Sombrero though is not a good look.
Thoughts on Barclay’s strategy picking up the GM card portfolio from Goldman? Just adding something to replace the portfolios they’re selling off?
They want to be in on retail co-brands…it was a weird pick up from Goldman, but hopefully they can make it a stronger card.
i have on good authority that we’ll be hearing about Citi in Q2, March so long as Citi doesnt Citi (which is likely). Source is drinking buds who work there, but not in the credit card org.
We’ll see what they do. I wouldn’t bet on Citi NOT Citi-ing. They need to launch a Thank You Point Business card…
me, still waiting on a premium Hyatt card that will never come.
I'm holding a Chase slot open for it for a little bit.
What if JetBlue is acquired by Alaska. I don’t think a Jet Blue premium card will come out.
I think both are too far down the runway to make a sale now. So the Premium card’s happening…but yeah, they’d likely ditch the JetBlue card.

Wasn't it Chase Palm or something
Yeah, that's the code name, forgot it in the moment.
I heard Amex platinum might go as high 995 annual ?
Plausible. They could cross $1000. They know where their Market will go
Will Barclays retain Wyndham?
(I would be happy if it went to Wells!)
If they leave ALL travel; probably not. But we’ll see. I’d love to see Wells grab Wyndham in order to prevent others…but we’ll see
What are your personal credit card predictions for 2025? What are your plans for player 2?

Been watching your channel for the last month or so. It’s obvious you don’t care much for Citi 😂
They make it hard to think of them positively. But we’ll see if they can get it together.
I thought apple going to chase
Plus capital one been a huge disappointment... then been nerfing there cards in 2024 savor, venture and venture x
Last I saw was Chase was talking, nothing’s official until it’s announced.
Capital One has had some minor issues for sure.
@@MattClausen they're nurfing the venture act or now they're limiting thePasses lounge access
Venture is losing Priority Pass and the Venture X is dropping to Two guests instead of unlimited. But that’s not that big a nerf.
