This was a fantastic video!!! All the puzzles were amazing but the last one just blew me away with how many squares the knight was really covering. 🤯 It’s no wonder the knight is so tricky! You’re such a great teacher Gauri :) I’ve said this before and I’ll say it again, you’re one of my newest favourite chess influencers. Your authentic style with delivering these great lessons and even watching you play your games is a welcome edu-tainment!

Hey Gauri, just wanted to say your videos are great, the puzzles are super instructive. If you’re having a hard time with them, don’t give up! Taking a while to think these sort of problems through can really make you a good chess player. Right now, it may seem very hard, but it’s mostly just ideas and pattern recognition, and like Gauri said, being able to piece together your ideas and your calculation. You can do this!!!

Hello Gauri, I worked on the same study a few years ago and I remembered an incredible solution involving stalemate. Now I know what's missing, the white king should be on d8, giving Black the b8 square when b6 is played. Then when White promotes, Black also promotes and you can't take the queen. The only move then is Qg8!! and there is nothing Black can do. If Qe8?, Qg7!, blocking the king. If Qf8? , Qa3! is a draw.

    • @gaurichess

Yeah, thats the original problem - too advanced for this video!!

  • @thequietkid9919

in the 3rd puzzle, the rook could directly go a5, queen takes, then knight to c6 forking the queen and king. If black defends with pawn it would still be the same thing.

  • @MrTheta78

I didnt fully solved any of these but i learned a lot. That last puzzle looks a bit like the Townes vs Harmon game in the Queens Gambit (kentucky championship) with the idea of a king and knight covering enough squares to trap a rook

To everyone confused, regarding en passant in the first puzzle, it's crucial to note that executing this move on the 7th rank, while you're positioned on the 6th rank, isn't possible. To better clarify, you must be on the 5th rank as White or the 4th rank as Black to successfully perform this maneuver.
