Great technique, Gina! I have done something similar to this, but instead, I used some plastic quilting design stencils, which are SO MUCH CHEAPER than any stencils that have to do with cardmaking and papercrafting! I pick them up at the fabric stores, Amazon.com, quilt shops, etc., or sometimes I even make my own. Also, stencils for stenciling on walls can work well, too! I have even used the Tupperware stencils I bought ages ago for our girls when they were small, and their ones from Highlights Magazine, too. I have not been brave enough to make my own stencils, but stencils are very versatile. Glad you found yourself stretching into this technique! Best regards,, Gina! PS: I LIKE how tightly the new ink pad lids fit! They help to preserve the product inside. Some ink pad cases are so loose I have to keep rubberbands around them to keep their lids on!

I have learned how to make my own Stencils now because of this they can double for a embossing, Wow. I keep the clear plastic from my packages and taking dies and cutting out my patterns and wala I have a stencil. easy peasy .

Love this...as I do ALL of your creations...been a FAN for many years! In answer to your request about an opinion of the MINI Fanciful Flourish: YES! Sometimes a smaller flourish is better for a project as a larger one may overwhelm the card. I'd definitely buy it. =)
Yes please add the mini swirls!! Also, I know you do not at this time, but have you considered taking a pole to see if folks would be interested in getting your stamp pads in mini?? I like to go buy white and black and a couple of my most used color in full size pads, but the other less frequently used colors I'd like in smaller size to keep from drying out.

Oh, I forgot to mention that I love the little flourishes, too. I have some larger ones, but have often cut them down or wished they were smaller - especially because I only make cards and don't do any 12x12 scrapbooking. I think you should definitely add them to your store :-)
Hi, All Crafty People, I have a question about paper cutters/trimmers. I haven't been making cards very long, but I really enjoy it. But back to my question. I have bought several paper cutter/trimmers. The first one had a rotating blade, which wasn't bad, but finding replacement blades was an expensive nightmare. The second one was very, very cheap and had a very small blade and went blunt very quickly also it wasn't very easy to use if the cardstock was larger than 6 inches. After I had decided that I really enjoy making cards and some other paper crafts, I purchased the Cutterpillar Pro, in Australia it cost close between $150 to $199. It had a self sharpening blade, (so no more looking for blades) plus an LED light so you could see where you were cutting, brilliant I thought! I couldn't wait to use it. The manufacturer promised a lot of extras. A drawer at the bottom, my drawer doesn't slide in and out using little effort. My drawer gets stuck. If I don't hold both ends of the paper, it moves and my cut is crooked. The gridlines on the metal table have worn off, the measurements on the top silver ruler have begun to waer off. I unfortunately picked the machine with metric measurements as I live in Australia, it would've been great if it had both metric and imperial as I use a lot of cardstock from the US. Finally, I have just bought a trimmer from stampin up, but it leaves a sort of lip on the cutline. Now, having watched Gina using a Fiskars Guillotine cutter I'm wondering if it looks as easy to use when Gina uses it, but would it work like that for a newbie like me? Any answers or advice would be totally appreciated! Sorry for such a long post, but paper cutting is slowly sending me up the wall.
I have heard of other paper crafters using the Guillotine cutter and they love it. There wasn't one available in my stores when I needed a new one, so I bought a different Fiskars cutter. So far, I am happy with it. But I do seem to dull the blades rather quickly, so always have to have a stash on hand to replace the old one. Have you contacted the Cutterpillar Pro company? That is A LOT of money to waste on a defective product!
