Visiting WAYNE ROONEY's Struggling BIRMINGHAM CITY ⚽️ St. Andrew's Stadium Tour

- I was hoping to watch Birmingham City Vs Bristol City this evening but I'm not gonna get chance, however I thought I'd head up to St. Andrews football stadium for an outside tour before Wayne Rooney inevitably gets the sack 🙈 There's an old "myth" that when the St. Andrews football ground was built in 1906, they had to move on a group of Gypsies who'd settled on the land... In response these people apparently put a 100 year CURSE on Birmingham City Football Club - which if true would have ended in 2006 and now in 2023/24 it looks as though Rooney has brought another curse of his own onto the Blues... 😬 LIKE the video & SUBSCRIBE for more Stadium Tours and Matchday Vlogs! ⚽️🏝️

As a person who works in the midlands i know villa fans wolves fans wba fan's and the poor Birmingham fans, I don't understand why you got rid of a manager who was doing a half decent job and bring in a manager who can't manage it's not his fault it's your owners fault
I thought Rooney would be decent after his Derby run
Yes it is the main stand it’s held it’s name since it was built
It’s not Jill Merrick it’s pronounced Gill (as in a fish gill) Gill Merrick was a great goal keeper for the blues back in the day.
Good honest video though 😊
Thanks for the info! Yeah I looked him up and was a big name player in his day 👏🏽
Gill Merrick stand is the railway stand, that was it's original name.
The main stand is that cow shed...where I sat in complete boredom tonight against Bristol city...
Thanks for the vid 😊
Pmsl i share your pain brother, I was in the main stand tonight also and it was like sitting on a bollock
Cheers for watching 🍻probably a blessing I could t get to the game last night 🙈
I was a mascot at Blues ages ago and there is an unlucky horse buried under the goal by the tilton 😂
Haha no way…
That floodlight looks like it might be a mobile phone mast!
🤣🤣🤣 as soon as I said that (twice) I thought to myself “I DONT THINK THATS A BLOODY FLOODLIGHT” haha oh well those who love “floodlight p*rn” will still get a kick 🍆
Good video,l had to smile when you said that you were going to walk around the ground,-which as you found out is almost impossible,l sit in the old Main stand ,in the old days that was the showpiece stand,as the rest of the ground was all terracing,-My Dad was actually in that record attendance of 76,000 plus in 1939,just before war broke out.-our curse carries on,under Rooney its not working, and the fans aren,t happy,-can the board let it continue-we will see,all the best,KRO,,
Hi Brian, thanks for watching 👍🏾 haha yes mission impossible getting around the ground 😁 it’s mad how big the attendances were back in the day when the stands themselves were smaller. Surprised there weren’t more disasters prior to Hillsborough 😕
Had my first visit to St Andrews last night and loved it. Coincidence you chose that day to put this up. Enjoyed the tour - I think you know its a hard "G" for Gil. I sat in the Main Stand and had a cracking evening chatting with two lifelong Bluenoses Phil & Malcolm who kept me entertained even if the match was below par.
Glad to hear you had a good evening despite the result mate 😊👍🏾 hoping to get up to a game there soon
Thanks again for another great video. Love your channel and content from this United supporter in California ⚽️😁
Glad you enjoy it! I’ll be at Manchester United Vs Tottenham at old Trafford in a couple weeks so that should be a fun video 🤩👍🏾
My dad grew up on St Andrews road in the late 30s and 40s. It was all back to back housing back then. Shared outdoor toilets and courtyards. It sounded rough.
That makes sense… the government took down all the old housing didn’t they and moved people into new buildings
gutted the club shop was shut one of the reps at work was a blue nose asked him to get me a badge from theclub shop reckons it was always sold out do not think he could be bothered to look lol another crazy old place to go as a visiting fann remember that great big terrace behind the goal like you i hope they have better times round the corner would love it if you done stockport county my second team i was hoping that you was going to get in the ground and have a look around keep them great videos going this is a breath of fresh air all the very best thanks again steve did you say you did stoke city went to the old victoria ground smashing place to visit another ground very sadly long gone such a shame another great old grouund with lots of character
Some good future videos right there mate! Lot's more exploring to do...
Great video, gained a sub, keep up the good content
Thanks mate 👍🏾
Went past my old house!
as a blues fan watching this .......chocolate!!!!
The curse remains at this ground in the shape of Wayne Rooney 🤣
Yep 😅
😆😆 🤣🤣🤣
watching from Finland :) keep it up
😊👍🏾
Thank god Rooneys gone now. Ground this season looks the best it's done in years. Need a big blues badge on the back of the Gill Merrick stand.main stand need knocking down and redoing but hope we don't move away
Gypsey curse may have ended but the Villa curse carries on...
Haha too true 😅
Main stand and Gill Merrick not Jill Merrick as you keep calling it 😂😂 are different stands. Tilton behind the goal so is the Gill Merrick down the other end. Staying in the Royal george paddy's weekend for the Watford game. Not a ground for walking around I'm afraid only really the Kop is mainly visible without going through houses
The “In Betweeners” are going to call the cops on you, mate. Way too early in the morning for filming 😅
Hahaha it’s ok I’m their 👍🏾👍🏾 FOOTBALL FRIEND 👍🏾👍🏾
It’s the main stand built in 1964 not been a great season …
The American flag is because the owners are American, and Undefeated is the club's main sponsor.
Mate, that’s a bit David Brent 😂😂😂😂…’there are people who get aroused…..’(points at floodlights). Fact.
Hahaha love it, my kinda comedy old Brent 😅
Ian Holloway would make a good manager for Blues .
KRO = KICK ROONEY OUT !!!
I love Rooney but as Gerrard & Lampard have proven - elite level players don’t necessarily make elite level managers…
Up the Villa!!
Got a couple villa games coming up on the channel - Sheff Utd away & Man Utd home 👍🏾
lol birmingham old manager just lucky at the start of the season that squad is average by the way. Old manager is clever leaving when birmingham at top so everyone will think he good
Hoping Rooney pulls it together, he was looking promising at Derby
Dewagod.... You're clearly someone who doesn't know what they are talking about.
Previous manager John Eustace was unlucky if Hogan hadn't missed sitters and a penalty, and Juke missed 3 games suspended, we would have been 3rd. JE would have got about 75 points at the end of the season and a play-off place. Also he didn't leave he was sacked after winning his last 2 games. Work that one out? KRO
Deano’s do you watch football or are you a complete mong you should start watching gay boys having sex your a complete fool
Like most of Birmingham a real Dump👎🏴
Obviously doesn’t know Gil Merrick was a male England international goalkeeper.
I didn’t mate, born in 89 but one of the best GKs of the 50s according to Google 😁👍🏾 🏴
Fair play, still an interesting film👍
@@keithrowbottom thank you, enjoy learning about the history of each club I visit
👍
Ought to be knocked down..
Birmingham are nothing special 💯
Villa fan? 😁
Yep
