Something that helped me get over the language barrier into non-English music was getting into extreme metal. Black metal especially has a lot of artists singing (screaming really) in their native Norwegian, Polish, French, etc. and getting used to hearing the vocals as an instrument made it easier for me to appreciate genres like bossa nova. Reggae with thick Jamaican patois is a good gateway too I’d say, they’re singing in English but the slang and accent is so far from what I usually hear that it felt like a different language.
I think you're right about the English-speaking world only being interested in English language music. Every time I've tried to introduce friends to foreign language music has been fruitless. I'm gonna check out the last 2 artists mentioned!
I love the disclaimers you include, including the name issue. :) I really enjoyed this video!!! It's very timely in terms of what's happening out there, and I love how you included the non-binary/LGBTQ element to the video in terms of the artists you selected for this video. It's nice to learn about music happening outside of English speaking countries.
Well, dammm. I love this review of foreign artists. I admit that I haven't dabbled in listening to these groups, but I appreciate that you took the time to give us a great commentary. Thank you.
what a great video! i love all different kinds of music, and have been blessed with friends and colleagues who love music as much as i do! their recommendations have had me exploring new music for years and i couldn't be happier. thank you for sharing some "new to me" music- i'm excited.😄

Hi! Nice video! I'll surely check some of your recommendations! If you want to listen to some Spanish music, I'd suggest you "Fuel Fandango" and "Tanxugueiras". Both mix their classic cultural background (flamenco and Galician music) with electronic music, and I like them a lot. Greetings from Barcelona, Spain! 😘
I know, I’m dragging my feet 😭 next one gonna be long as hell which is what’s taking so long. Almost done with the script now and then I just gotta edit. Thanks for your patience
Damn that nigel guy is a fucking genius and is handsome and very cool
I heard he smells great too!
Great recommendations Jukebox! Here's three more gems: La Femme from France, Mdou Moctar from Niger, Gnoomes from Russia (moved to Bulgaria).
Oh very nice! Three more to keep on my radar 🧐 thanks for sharing!
