- 1975 the hard rock band Nazareth performed live in the Austrian music show Spotlight. It became a legendary concert.
Spotlight was a music show for the youth, which was aired between 1968 and 1978 by the Austrian Broadcasting Corporation (ORF). It was the counterpart to the shows "Beat Club" or "Musikladen" in Germany.

RIP Dan McCafferty, one of the best rock voices now silenced. ;-( RIP also Manny Charlton who died just a few months ago, a great rock guitarist!
And Daryl Sweet. Pete Agnew on bass is the only survivor from this 😔

I have searched UA-cam for anyone that can sing like this and looked for how to sing like Dan Mcafferty and found nothing. The uniqueness is just that ..no one else sings this way. 2 octaves , low and high at the same time. Wow just wow

It is also on the album ‘Razamanaz.’ “Bad Bad Boy” was written by Dan McCafferty & Darrell Sweet & Pete Agnew & Manny Charlton. The Members Of Nazareth in 1973 were: Dan McCafferty- Lead Vocals, Darrell Sweet- Percussion, Pete Agnew- Bass Guitar, and Manny Charlton- Electric Guitar. The song was the 2nd of 11 of Nazareth’s singles to chart in the UK. It reached #10 in 1973 and stayed there for 9 weeks. Pretty Rockin’ and memorable Classic Rock Song from back then, Right guys? Their lives were not easy at the beginning Susan , several record companies turned them down flat, that was of course until they charted independantly with Broken Down Angel, and then the hypocritical bastards were climbing all over each other to sign them, in the last 30 years Naz went Gold in Canada resulting Platinum .. i.e Millions of album sales, love from Germany.

Tbh, Ths Roger Glover produced Nazareth albums were straight solid and amazing and could compete with Hair of the Dog

What a solid sound for a three piece band with fantastic vocals. I remember the well produced Single release and it was great.

Its an austrian crowd, not german, the promoter was peter raab, it was 1975... and nazareth as sure as the austrains had a very fine time, they liked it, stomp their feet and clapping to the music.

Damned..., this was a sensational event on Spotlight in these days. I had the possibility to go on the Spotlight Shows frequently and the pleasure to join the audience with the age of 14. Still remember to have had the chance to talk with the group members together with Peter Rapp (Moderator) in the small canteen at the ORF Studios before the show took place. The best part was the encores after the official filmed Show. Nazareth were somehow underrated, maybe because there were such great Supergroups like Pink Floyd, Deep Purple, ELP, Uriah Heep and so many others in the seventies. A great time with exceptional shows and bands. Dan has an outstanding, unique and cutting voice. Nazareth forever !!!

as we all get to look at these weird kids', it makes you wonder what's going through their minds back then', for me, this was one of the most pivotal bands that ever influenced my life', when my older bro had his 18th birthday he bought 18 cases of beer back then and it took us 3 bros', 2 weeks to drink it all', and Nazareth was at the top of my play list', some of the best times of my life''.

Saw Nazareth in Plymouth Guildhall a number of times in the early 1970s. One of the best live bands I've seen (and I've seen a lot). Tight drums and bass. Brilliant guitar. And a rock voice of gravel and grit unparalleled. They used to do a gig intro that started with the drums, then progressed to bass, then layered big guitar chords and finally would come on Dan and burst the soundscape with that voice. I wish there was a recording somewhere of that gig opening - one of the best ways to start a gig I've ever seen. Right up there with the best.

I love this band! Have been following them since I saw them open for Deep Purple in the same year as this video. And this song is from my favorite album of theirs, Razamanaz. Was just listening to Alcatraz earlier today, so the timing of discovering this awesome gem is perfect! These guys never got the recognition they deserved. They were every bit as good as bands like AC/DC, just never hit that level of success. Nonetheless, their music was a huge influence on me from my teenage years on.
This song is off the Razamanaz album produced by Roger Glover. Heard Night Woman playing in a record store in 1974 and asked if it was the new Deep Purple line-up.
