You know, I’ll probably get a backlash for my comment, but as a Venezuelan, I should give a little bit of an explanation. Sure, if you never got the context of Adrian’s background and how he even got to represent Venezuela in the first place, you would feel pity and want to support him for his effort. But, let’s think about this for a minute, out of over 30 million Venezuelans world wide, don’t you think there are my better Venezuelans skiers world wide? Of course they are. The reason he was sent to represent Venezuela it was part of another corruption case within the PSUV (Chavez political party). This kid is part of the youth PSUV and because he was a coach of the “roller skate team”, they sent him. Millions in Venezuela are oppressed, hungry and dying because of the Maduro regime, and they will never invest in any sport and athlete unless they are able to steal money and the “athlete” is part of PSUV. I don’t feel pity at all, it’s truly an embarrassment to have sent this guy on a trip to Europe just because he is the coach of the Venezuelan roller skate team and that was his “dream”. He didn’t raise any funds to get there. The Maduro regime sponsored it while many Venezuelans are dying of hunger, lack of medicines and you know they will never sponsor true athletes. Ask any Venezuelan, and will tell you the same thing. www.caracaschronicles.com/2017/02/24/pobrecito-vale/
Really interesting info & article. I have to say I fell for the ‘David vs Goliath’ poor guy doing his best to overcome adversity; thanks for opening our eyes👍🏼
Polish commentary. "He is much much more slower than the slowest Poles, yeah, much more slower" "Yeah, Solano on track, he is wearing really warm" "Now he slowed down a bit, see, he has to climb that hill" "He should have come earlier, he would have trained a bit" "Yeah, this will last for 10 minutes at least as he go to the finish..." "Look at him, what a brutal ride" "He learned how to get up, now he bounces like a ball" "Uh, he doesn't use the ski poles at all, he just carries them" "Everyone have already made it to the finish, except him, yeah" "He is heading straight into this pole down there, he, he should overtake it" "Seems like he got excited by a crow cheering"
Bless your heart for your best construction 👍💖 Truth is, he simply didn't prepare. He'd never skied on snow before this moment. Not very responsible for a "professional" athlete, hey, sometimes you find out you suck at something when it's already too late. www.nytimes.com/2017/02/24/sports/olympics/adrian-solano-nordic-world-ski-championships.html
Ya know what I give this man a lot of respect for continually getting up and just doing his thing. Says a lot about him. Especially seeing him smiling at the finish line.

He did this for the Olympic reason, doesn't matter if you've lost, at least you've been a part of the Olympics. Bless this guy's heart.
That was from the world cup
This was the world championship

On the bright side, there's massive room for improvement.
Cesar Baena is our venezuelan nordic skier. Record Winnes
The Finnish crowd looks baffled. Skiing must be so easy for them.
