Hey mate. Thanks for the video. I was wondering if you could tell me more about how useful you found Pathoma? Robbins for the pathology section seems to be way too much to read all the way through and retain for what it is worth in the exam. I guess would you recommend Pathoma and say the Leon Lai notes for Path as sufficicient? Cheers.
This is something I also want to know. Agree that if pathoma with Leon Lai would be sufficient that’s ideal, so I’d be interested to know if it were the case 👍
I passed my GSSE a few years ago.. I got JDOCs membership which I found useful. It gave me access to Aclands anatomy videos and anatomedia which I used heavily in prepping for my exam. It also provided access to a bunch of textbooks, which I only used occasionally. Re MCQs, JDOCs quizzes (which I did on my phone/ iPad) allowed me to practise questions on the run, between theatre cases, on the train etc... During formal study sessions I used the excel version of the question bank to make sure I had covered the entire syllabus.
Has anyone been successful at finding a copy of multiple choice questions in basic surgical sciences book by Anthony Buzzard? I’ve searched the web, my university and the hospital libraries here in Brisbane with no luck.
Hi Chris! Wanted to ask about the monitor you use (behind you). Im studying at uni and was tossing up whether to get a monitor for better multitasking...do you recommend it? Then the conundrum of size...27inch or 34 inch or bigger. Ive seen many med youtubers use them but no ones talked about if theyre happy with the size they have . Whats your thoughts..are you happy with yours? And what model is yours? Thanks :D
I use it primarily for study and editing. So it is valuable to me to have the larger screen size, but it would probably be unnecessary for most people. I love it, personally.
Thanks for such an informative and clear video, appreciate the effort youve put in making this!
Thanks Dr Maguire, you are too smart and hard-working, that’s why you pass with flying colour.
That's far too kind. Thank you so much for your support!

Both were excellent resources. I wouldn't say wholy sufficient but certainly a significant portion of the way there.
Great video mate! When did you sit the exam in terms of PGY?
I sat in PGY 3. I know some people who sat earlier and later. It depends a lot on when you can dedicate the time to preparation.
Hi there, thanks for your video. What were the UA-cam anatomy videos you mentioned? Cheers
Don’t think they’re on you tube, but they’re called Acland’s Anatomy Lecture/Video Series. Was able to source through University Libraries
What is website's name for question bank please??
RACS JDocs
@@drchristophermaguire Thank you. Prompt reply 🙂
Is Jdocs worthwhile, since there are only 240 Qs for $350?

UQ library had two copies when I was studying.
