      Hey Scotty, the newer beauty covers are actually thermally beneficial, they act as air ducting since they sealed up the underbody with plastic panels and the rad fan needs to channel it differently. For the cars where it either doesn't matter or it isn't beneficial they actually omit them.

      Hi Scotty, I just found a 2022 Lexus NX 350 it has 2000 miles on it, and it's $ 22000 with clean carfax. The dealership got it from an auction. Do you think it's a reasonable price, or is there something fishy?

    • @theredscourge
      @theredscourge Рік тому

      @@rosastone9084 I don't think he answers questions here. Probably a repo. A lot of people would rather have a Toyota as they're cheaper, so a lot of Lexus end up falling to just above Toyota prices. Make sure it is a certified used vehicle and be ready to use that warranty at the first sign of trouble if there is any, and you're probably fine. Be prepared to walk away from the deal if you show up and then they throw a bunch of fees on top though, dealers sometimes show a great deal online then change it once you come in, hoping you will still want it.

      I bet Lexus ls400 first gen is longer and last running than 2uz and 3uz has interference. I wish all of them UZ had non-interference. I believe that 1995 to 2000 1uz get damage in early because people don’t think that vvti-1uz look same from first gen engine. That’s why I see first gen engines on the road not like 95 to 2000 has lot of early dead. Also you heard that non-vvti 1uz put in the airplane in Lexusextrem website! That is first gen engine running in the plane for 18 years to now and 500 hours flying and stay rpm at 4,000 to 5000rpm!! That is ridiculous stronger motor!

    I bought an ES350 ‘09 almost 2 months back with 223K miles on it. Engine was rebuilt, and the inspection guy said that the tranny been opened but shifted and moved like a dream. This helped me get it quite cheap.
    Unfortunately, after a couple of weeks after I put in 20W50 Toyota Motor oil on the wrong advice of the oil shop owner, it started acting out. Now it sometimes jerks and delays while shifting between P to D and R to D. I feel like it’s linked to switch to 20W50. Not sure.
    There was some timing chain noise at cold start but after that oil change it also started hesitating and vibrating when cold but becomes completely normal when warmed up.
    Queries:
    Should I top up oil on tranny? Coz I also replaced the axle oil seal as it was leaking some oil.
    Do you think after switching back to 5W30 the hesitation and vibration will go away? Or will I need to get the timing chain work done?
