I'm really glad that you guys have more content more often. Joe has been an uplifting piece of your whole family and I love it. Joe's a great guy. Aaron you're a fabulous father and husband 💖
Thank you for testing, vlogging and sharing. What is evenly, if not more important than food in case of emergency is drinking water. It is so difficult to anticipate nature's and life's calamities. I do appreciate your concern and the precautions you are trying to find. I'm looking forward to your video on the ingredients and preservatives of the emergency kit you purchased. Let's stay vigilant and responsable. Much love 🥰
I think to alot of families just losing their job would put them in an emergency situation pretty quickly. These are a great idea to have in the pantry
AARON AND JOE I WANT TO THANK YOU FOR BRINGING THIS TO LIGHT AND LOOKING FORWARD TO MORE VLOGS LIKE THIS ONE. I WAS LOOKIG FOR THINGS LIKE THIS BECAUSE OF THE STORMS WE GET HERE IN FLORIDA.
To make the pancakes and the oatmeal go further, put more liquid in both. The pancakes will turn into crepes/British style pancakes, and the oatmeal into porridge.
I have been debating on whether or not to buy some of those kits. I was afraid the food would be disgusting, so I am glad you did this video. We are going to buy some and put them in the pantry. Love that you included Aunt Bonnie and your mother in law and Alex and Savannah.
If you want good tasting survival meals, don't buy Walmart. You have to try "4Patriots" and "My Patriot". They are the best out there and they carry many necessary supplies as well. If you try them please do another video about their products!! 🤗👍🏻💯
I live in San Diego and we’ve been evacuated due to fires and also have had over 24 hour power failure, having emergency supplies is very important!! You can always heat things up on a bbq 😊
I’m from Puerto Rico and we got hit by hurricane Fiona last Sunday and we went in a complete blackout. The entire island went without electricity nor water so if you don’t have a gas stove where you can cook this it wouldn’t work but if you do it’s a great thing to have. I am still without power cooking in a one burner gas stoveI, I have some very picky eaters who wouldn’t eat none of the food that is in that package but I would totally eat everything that came in there. I haven’t seen any of that emergency food in our Walmart though. Thank you so much for sharing, have a lovely day. Blessings ❤
What a cool kit idea! With that many kids in that large house, you definitely need a fire plan and outside meet up place if there is a fire as well as make sure that everyone knows the exits of the house! Individual packets would have been smart!
I'm a picky eater due to having aspergers food traits and I've also had all but one metre of my intestine removed over my life time due to having crohns disease since I was a kid. During covid I thought a lot about what would happen if I had to eat food outside my comfort zone if it was a matter of life and death. I came to the conclusion that if it's the only food I could get for longer than about a week I'd eat whatever was needed to sustain life.😊
Aaron and Jor. You guys love to cook. Why dont you make a vlog of emergency foods or dishes one could make with the basics one has in the kitchen. would love to see that
This was a great video. My husband will love having these, he also worries about being prepared for the not knowing of what's to come. Thanks for sharing :) Love you all
We have a bigger bucket like that from Winco for our 5-person family. Thanks for trying it out for us! I hadn't thought of not having syrup or oil. Good thing we have that in our food storage, though!!
The potato soup looked pretty good! I liked the color of it. I like that it seemed like cheesy potato soup since some aren't cheesy. I can also see the chicken flavored rice being good too. I wonder was it similar to like the chicken flavored ricearoni? Obviously the texture needed a little work but flavor wise I mean. It might've been less liquidy too if you cooked it a little longer since you said the rice wasn't done completely. Anyway, great video. Thanks for sharing guys!!
Aaron, with a family your size your best bet is to go to Sam's club or Costco and buy the 50lb. bag of rice for $17, several big bags of pancake mix for $5 and a case of syrup etc... 25 lb bag of flour $8 and go that route with some propane to boil water or cook pancakes on a skillet with propane.
Alot of us down here in south Florida use them. Because as you all should know we have really bad hurricanes 🌀 We could be without for weeks or longer if we didn't have what we call emergency kits.! Hurricane 🌀 Ian 9-2022 My town is still recovering. Some are still being saved from the flood waters, some are still without power or water. Ian did a real number on us with a Cat 4 almost 5 😩 Not everyone made it out sadly the death number is still rising as I write this message. Prayers for Florida is much needed 🙏❤️ Thanks
Tin food lasts a very long time, dried foods also can be reconstituted with water and pancake mix in a bottle that you add water too is also cheap to buy, so i think money wise for emergency foods there are way better options out there to stock up for emergencies.
Check the sodium in those things, usually as a preservative there's loads of sodium.. I live in a hurricane area and we either just leave or cook normal food (that will go bad anyway if you don't have electricity), on the barbecue pit.. You can even make pretty good coffee on a barbecue pit if you have a camping coffee pot..
I’ve tried both Wise and Patriot emergency food, and both are decent and last 25 years. Definitely not great tasting like homemade food, but totally works in emergencies. Look forward to your video on ideas for cooking if there’s no power and you have no generator, grill, etc.-and no money to spend on such.
You guys should try the one from Costco is the best it has more in it And last for long, I have a huge family like the cosy pieces and we had to use it last year when it’s not really bad in Canada
Thanks for the video. I've been listening to all the preppers and have stocked up on a bunch of mainly Augason Farms buckets so it's good to see they taste good. The only issue is how would I cook it if the power was out so I look forward to finding out and if it's something I would be able to handle on my own lol
Aaron if I was you I would stick to the 50lb bags of rice and things like that. Buy bulk and also stock up on canned goods. You really should have some things put back, especially with a family your size.
Sounds as if this emergency food has good flavor. Good to know. Noticed you were using Log Cabin Syrup on the pancakes. Do you know Log Cabin has a Natural syrup that omits the corn syrup and artificial ingredients? Just a thought about a simple change that could be a bit healthier for everyone.
We’ve done a little experimenting with cooking these kind of things also what we do is have some of this on hand but then also just have minute rice and mashed potato flakes on hand as well to go with it to make it stretch further
What would it take for Joe to shave his beard? Just curious 🤣 I’d love to see his face in my lifetime 🤷🏻♀️😂 Yes, the kits are worth it. There’s other kits out there too. Also you need to think about water especially being in the desert with a drought on going in the west. Caning is always my go too food prep. I also like to dehydrate stuff!
this would be awesome when going camping . i use a portable stove .instead of bringing heaps of food all at once which is going take up heaps of space this would be great for a quick easy meal . also i live in australia where bush fires happen a lot throughout summer having something like this would be great in a emergancy . as a lot of safe spots have water or simple cooking station .
These have their place for some people. That being said Aaron's family is large and he might want to look into some other possibilities. Learn to can your own food and put some up ahead ones that wouldn't need to be necessarily heated. Of course beef stew etc tastes better warm but can be eaten cold. You can can meals as well as ingredients for meals. This being said for a family Aaron's size it would take a lot of storage space and I would think of dehydrating or freeze drying. Needless to say water supply is going to be a big issue.
I live in Oregon! I work at OFD(Oregon Freeze Dry). They make the Mountain House Brand. Their foods are pretty good. Might try some of theirs. I think there is Family Size and Individual Surviving's. Might look on their Website.
Alot of people in south Florida wish they had this no matter how it taste. Sadly hurricane 🌀 Ian did a number on us all down here not long ago.. This is why it is called an Emergency food 🤦 when it's an Emergency you will eat anything..!!!
Aaron maple syrup, brown/white (I like it with either) sugar and milk are a must for oatmeal. As far as the rice goes I’m not a rice lover anyway but if it’s salty then I’d starve to death before I ate it 😂. I can’t stand salt at all and don’t use it for anything except watermelon, cantaloupe and grapefruit.
Hey guys . my husband bought one of these and we had we left it on our shelf for few month and we got COVID and got low on groceries and couldn't go shopping so we got it and gave them a try we all like beside for oatmeals too.
Also think you may not have access to water something to think about! Also with the kids who drive if there was an emergency are they trying to get to you or will you go to them etc
I don't think so. They mentioned him working not too long ago. You have to remember that even tho it seems he's around alot..we only see a little piece of their day. And not even everyday.
Just curious can you guys do a video with get everyone involved with this have one day emergency survival mode with emergency kits ??? How would you guys prepare for this ???much love ❤️
Guys grab flour, sugar, pastas, sauces, egg's , look for a list of easy things..then get the ingredients and stash them away. Dried beans . O potato flakes.cartons of milk on the dry food isle. Just trying to think of things.
Well in case of an emergency these things may not be helpful. Flooding waters, electric out, stores closed or empty. It's sad down here in south Florida these past few days. I wish more people would have these emergency kits during this time..
This video, as well as some others, that the crazy middles have done with their emergency kits, and having a child has made me realize I am not as prepared as I would like to be so I have been trying to work on getting emergency kits and food for my family just in case because you really never know what happens in this world is uncertain for the most part so it is a scary
Can some cooked apples and then you can make dessert....brown Betty. O get brown sugar as well. Water , sugar, salt . You can make homemade biscuit 's.
I make my own kits because I have Celiac Disease - Haley wouldn't be able to eat those kits and Hannah wouldn't either because of the milk. I love oatmeal but I add dehydrated apples or scoop of chunky apple sauce.

My best part of the video? Sweet Jamie living her best life in the background
Thats so funny because I was sitting here trying to figure if that was her. She is always living her best in the background singing. I ♡ it

Crepes are French not British but I get what you mean.

Great topic and video! Loved how the sisters (Joanne & Bonnie) look so much alike!

Looking to getting MREs they're always good to keep on hand or keep in your garage for emergencies
I wondered how those things work! Thanks for checking it out
Love seeing Jamie singing in back ground you sing it girl love ya
Trust me, whenever you’re in an emergency situation, even the “picky eaters“ will eat just about anything.

If you are trapped there’s no way you can use a stove canned food is better just make sure you put a can opener inside emergency bag
If concerned about no power no gas no etc then put a rocket stove or some such item with your stored food. Do not forget to include matches stored in a dry container.
