People interpret songs very differently. I love this song due to its strike on self pride and kinda asks you the question? Is this what you wanted? Is this the person you wanted to be? Are you REALLY the talk of the town? In what way. Love the signature NTB style and the challenge to be humble. Love you guys keep being awesome.
I think you're spot on! I read this article and they mentioned this in their interview:

Never heard of these guys till I saw them open for One Republic last night in Tinley Park Illinois. Yes I agree underrated . I enjoyed them more than One Republic, They have a new fan. Great job guys you are an extremely talented group ! I hope touring with One Republic takes you to a higher level in this not so fair music biz.....

Love the warning in this toe tapping song. Living for "likes" is just plastic. NTB has Christian roots which I greatly appreciate. Lately they are a bit cryptic in their themes, but I love their sound & they're not singing about drugs and sex so - there's that!

I went to a One Republic concert and they were the introduction band. Absolutely loved their songs and this one got stuck in my head. One of the most underrated bands :)

I just got back from the Minnesota OneRepublic concert that they were in starting for and honestly yeah this was one of my favorites it does seem very different from the style it's kind of bluegrass and rock but it was still very catchy I love it

This is such a fun, intense song that still holds a lot of NEEDTOBREATHE’s signature style. Also, the forced smiles as they passed the main individuals in the video was hilarious - that Midwestern “feel uncomfortable but don’t want to be rude” look is priceless.

For there is earthly - carnal life (as we live now) and there is Spiritual - everlasting life ( that is yet to come). To receive an everlasting life - an heart and mind MUST change. (it is called: repentance) or only thing we will receive is : everlasting torment in the HOT - VERY HOT LAKE.
How did we came to be so insane? - because many amongst us raised up in lies and in delusions. Only very few are raised in truth (i, myself are placed among them who was hurt with the truth and not comforted with lies). Generations after generations hard work from the wicked to dumb us all down to the extreme, broke our soul, so we could come up with extreme and ridiculous ways to numb the pain inside of us. Why do we not turn to HIM who can heal us when deep in our hearts we do know - THAT GOD IS THE ONLY ONE WHO HEAL US AND FREE US. So why don`t we cry out to GOD? - because of PRIDE.

Lets explain human lifetime: 0 - 12 years = innocent childhood, 13 - 19 = teenage years, also the start of the age of responsibility. 20 - 60 yeas = Active adulthood and 60 - 120 = old age. So? When we die as children 0 - 12 years = not dying in sin and no going into torment, but immediately in the precent of GOD. When we die as teenagers (13 - 19), it`s the time to START TO COME TO REPENTANCE or when we die, we are at risk of dying in sins and going down to torment. When we die as ADULTS (in 20 - 120 years) and not come to REPENTANCE, and IF WE NOT AVOID SINNING AT ALL COST then we are 100% at risk of going to burn in THE LAKE OF FIRE. Therefore the age of responsibility starts usually with the age of 13 and yes there will be some special cases when there the age of responsibility never accrues. I know a lot of people here in the comments are huge fans of the band but I just have to say, in consideration of all musical styles, genres, and generations, I heard this song and felt compelled to compile an exhaustive list of musical talents who have never disappointed after announcing a new track. I know it might hurt some feelings but here it is:

I listen to all kinds of music all day every day and these guys are the ONLY artists that I have ever listened to past or present that can release a new track and I know it's going to be on repeat after the first listen... and they have somehow been doing it for decades.
I actually stopped what I was doing and watched the band read mean tweets a few weeks because I was genuinely curious how someone could be critical.

The first time I heard this song I got the sense immediately that there was something familiar about it, but I couldn’t quite place it until now. Whether it was intentional or not I can definitely see the Matchbox 20 influence in this song, right down to the music video (see “Bent”). The more I listen to NTB the more baffled I am that mainstream audiences haven’t caught on to them yet.

I like needtobreathe. However, here recently the bass player got very angry after he unfortunately read some hate mail while on camera, and then immediately responded by flipping the camera off.
I realize he’s not perfect and neither am I, but profanity is a really bad witness for the Christian faith. It sends the wrong message to nonbelievers about what it means to live a life of true repentance.
I was extremely disappointed to see this. I lost a “little respect” for the band as a whole because of the bass players actions.
